I recently used The Design Quad to sell our family home. The market has been very tough (at least it was tough prior to staging). After The Design Quad came in to our home and worked their magic, our home had more foot traffic and we had an offer 6 days after the staging install. The owner unfortunately refuses to answer any emails nor has reached out. I had a stated budget of 30k to furnish my house, which ended up going over budget by 12-13k. I did like the overall aesthetic of the design, except for the office, which was done very poorly. Some items were marked up nearly 100%, but still came in damaged. I can not believe this is the staging, 1 and half Hours work include removing some furniture. Cheap and poor style breakfast round table is for formal dinning room. No art in the Master bedroom. Very disappointing experience dealing with The Design Quad. I hired them to stage a newly renovated 1920's craftsman style home for sale in a Historic District and their design choices were not appropriate for the home. The furniture selection was something you might expect to see in a modern downtown/uptown high-rise apartment as opposed to complimenting the charm of the home and neighborhood. I was expecting staging that would help create an emotional connection to my property for potential historic homebuyers and that was far from what I received. Within hours of the staging crew leaving the house, I contacted Hailey and asked if they could possibly change out of a few pieces to which she gave me two options. 1. They could restage and charge me an additional $4000 as a restaging fee, which was more than double what I paid initially. Or option 2; they would come pick everything up and not refund me any of the original fee paid. Both options were obviously not acceptable. I even tried to be flexible and asked that they come restage just one of the common areas and she still refused saying that the owner was going to stand by the job and they were "trying to sell the house, not the furniture." I was respectful with my request and was willing to compromise but unfortunately Design Quad was not. As a result, I even had negative feedback from agents showing the property, which reflected my initial concerns. DO NOT hire this company, as there are many more competent and more professional stagers in the area. You get 1 chance to make a first impression when presenting your home for sale to the market so don't make the mistake I did in hiring Design Quad, especially when any/all issues could have been easily addressed. read more

I've known of the Design Quad for some years now and they do an exceptional job when it comes to staging homes to sell. The owner Nikki has been a Home Stager for close to a decade and that means she's one of the most seasoned stagers in the business. She clearly knows what she's doing and her team has staged thousands of homes over the years. For the person who left the 1-star review, this is my two cents: There is a difference between Home Staging, Interior Design and Interior Decorating. Home Staging is intended to appeal to the massive audience of buyers, therefore furniture pieces tend to be neutral and there will be pops of color in the accessories, artwork etc. The most commonly used style when it comes to staging is Transitional style, which is a mix of traditional and modern/contemporary. Home Staging is NOT intended to appeal to the homeowner's personal taste because the average person isn't educated about Home Staging and how it works. Interior Design and Interior Decorating are both client-specific and are based on that client's personal taste and preference. They have nothing to do with how the guests interpret the look and feel of the home because they don't live in it. The issue is there is a lack of education with the realtor and real estate investor community about Home Staging and how it works. Therefore, clients will purchase Home Staging services when they're not educated about which of the unique services will work for them. The person who left the 1-star review was actually looking for an Interior Designer or Interior Decorator - not a Home Stager. For example, I can't get upset with my foot doctor because he didn't resolve an issue about my knee. It's up to each person to educate themselves on the intention of these services prior to purchasing. I should have known something was odd when this companies basic communication skills were off, then when it took 5 conversations and 18 hours to get an invoice, I was skeptical with the consultant Angela assigned because she seemed a little off in conversation, but I continued due to time, a day before the scheduled day I asked what time will they arrive, she said that they gave my apt away, No I am not joking!!!!, not one mention about a change all week, had appointments, and it cost me money.
