At The Grove on Belmont, I reported a stalker and was reassigned into a garage bay that was cross-programmed to his, effectively giving him access to me. Management and their VP ignored weeks of emails while the safety breach went unresolved. They do not deliver security or accountability. Optics and reviews matter more to them than people's lives. ---------------- This management group knowingly left me exposed to a stalker and did nothing. One who wasn't even legally on his own lease when I first reported the problematic behavior (April 2025). After I reported a known stalker in the building, management reassigned my parking to a garage bay that was cross programmed to his remote, effectively giving him access to me. When I documented this and asked for it to be fixed, they went silent. The Vice President was cc'd on every email and supposed to follow up but never did. What I got instead: out of office replies and stalling, while the safety breach remains unresolved. This specific issue was reported on 8/24 and remains unresolved despite six days of back-and-forth emails. This isn't just negligence, it's retaliation through silence. They posture about "security" but in reality care only about optics, responding to Google reviews within minutes while ignoring documented safety complaints for weeks. Their "cameras" are props. They couldn't even stop people from letting their dogs use the building as a toilet, let alone secure garages or mail. Someone was shot and killed on the property last year and recently a goose was found injured with lead pellets and arrows. The property already has a history of serious security failures. If you're considering a property managed by this group, understand: they will not protect you. In fact, they may put you in harm's way. Excellent place to live! DMG is very safe, beautiful atmosphere, open and welcoming with excellent Building Maintenance, staff. Chris is phenomenal, and is extremely responsive, and can tell he takes pride in his deliverables. Wouldn't rent from any other place. read more

I can't comment on what they're like as a management company because I'm still waiting on them! I will say, though, that in my little bit of experience with DMG, I have found them to be as slow as a snail on top of a tortoise on top of a pool of molasses. Put in an app, waited two weeks, STILL nothing until they finally called us another two weeks later to let us know that yes, we were qualified, but the owner "chose" a different applicant, so it was a no-go. And if that wasn't bad enough, they only keep apps for ONE MONTH?! Absolutely insane, considering it takes them that long to get back to you! Now, waiting for a ruling on the second apt we applied for; again with the "passed the criteria" but waiting on the owner to play Eenie-Meenie-Miney-Moe, flip a coin, roll a dice, or whatever they do to "choose". read more

Truly cannot say enough bad things about this property manager. I used DMG for a few months to manage 9 of my rental units before I fired them. All I can say is stay away from them at all costs. They couldn't get my tenants setup to pay properly on AppFolio, they did a horrible job communicating with my tenants and answering their problems, they charged crazy amounts for maintenance fixes, and the icing on the cake for me was when they hired an attorney to handle an eviction case for me. The lawyer that they hired for me has been nothing short of horrendous. He doesn't respond to any of my emails and has provided no help or context on the eviction process. When I looked into the lawyer that they hired, I looked him up and saw that he had a 1 star rating on Yelp yet DMG for some reason still chose to hire him. Please spare yourself the headache that I endured and stay away from DMG. read more

I had a showing scheduled with them at 11:00am. Given the recent events of riots and such, the police had several expressways blocked off. I communicated with them the ENTIRE way letting them know what time I would arrive. I was commuting from 25 miles away. Once I finally arrived, the guy who was supposed to show me the home had left. I was literally 3 minutes later than what I had estimated. A complete waste of time, energy, and toll money! I still looked around the outside of the house since I made the trip and it was a total mess. Not as advertised on the website at ALL. Windows were extremely old and random children's toys and old mail on the rickety porch. Extremely unprofessional team of individuals and quite frankly I feel like I dodged a bullet. This management company doesn't mind working for Slum Lords. I rented for a mere 3-4 months and had to go. The landlord was HORRIBLE. The management company did nothing but make excuses for the owner. I would never trust renting through them again. I wish there was an option to rate below. read more

This company is UNPROFESSIONAL and OUT OF LINE. I applied for an apartment and met all the requirements needed to rent with them. HOWEVER, they went too deep into my credit looking beyond what they claimed they needed to see. That's not even the worst part! Instead of just verifying my employment and utilizing my check stubs they called my HR department for my salary information which is ILLEGAL!!! This is highly unacceptable. DMG manages my properties in Chicago. Gabriela and Angelica are a great team! They have gone above and beyond working with me and my tenants! Angelica is friendly and assists with calling tenants and scheduling appointments and very responsible to my calls. Gabriela has helped with marketing and qualifying tenants as well as managing the properties. She has also spoken with tenants and very knowledgable. I am grateful being out of state, to have a property management team working with me and taking good care of my properties! read more

This company is for slumlords some of their units are full of bed bugs. They don't care much for seniors if you make a complaint about an issue in your apartment good luck if they respond within 30 days. If you miss paying your rent a 5 day notice will be posted on your door right away. The city inspectors have to be called because the power went out over the weekend and it was an emergency nobody at this company has an employee working on call food spoiled no one showed until late Monday. Stay away from these people if you are on the south side. read more

My move to Chicago was stressful. I was moving cross country from LA due to work. I had 30 days to find a place, pack and move. DMG to the rescue. I originally found one apartment online and since I was still in LA I had someone else go for the showing. After she expressed concerns that the rooms were kind of small they advised her they had a different unit in a different building they could show her. She walked in and fell in love. She sent me pictures and I fell in love. That was a year ago and I just renewed my lease. DMG is great with callbacks as well as responding to maintenance work orders. The Manager of my buildings maintenance staff is Alex. Alex is always available and very responsive. His maintenance team (Construction / Repair/ Renovation ) are very fast and very skilled. I contacted DMG and entered into a contract in November of 2017. My first point of contact was Christina. Total disorganized and not very well educated on minor Landlord/tenant ordinances. I asked her questions on whether I could collect back rent and I am still waiting on a response. I explained the situation with working with a difficult tenant. Christiana assured me that she could. A lease was drawn up 4 months later in March 2018 without any prior knowledge. According to my new point of contact, Gabriel. That is why I should look at the monthly statements. Total disrespect or regards for the Landlord. DMG charges 1/2 the rent for a lease.The representatives do not call back in a timely manner. Most of my calls are returned in 2 days or not at all. I am not pleased or confident in DMG handling my property. I am very happy that I did not give them my Commercial Property. When my contract is over, so will my relationship DMG. read more
