Love my Doctor, but the absurdly rude lady at the front desk HAS to go. Period. I was scolded for…read moreover five minutes, in public, trying to painfully stand on my recently replaced knee joint, just because I (apparently) made her unhappy by not figuring out the last page (roughly 8-9) of the online "check-in" form - I simply did not see a way to proceed, so did my best. Then, she insisted I hand her my phone (?), I said no, she became even more agitated, raising her voice at me, while I stood there astounded. Told her I didn't want her handling my phone, asked if there was some other way I could please her, she again demanded the phone saying she "needs" to show me "how to get around that part". I explained that with COVID concerns and all, I still was not going to let her handle my phone, and besides I did the online check-in on my computer at home NOT my phone, I don't use my phone that way. She then said that she "never asked" for my phone, with my wife and I both shaking our heads in disbelief. Since we were apparently at some kind of impasse, i told her I was going to leave and re-schedule some other time. She ran over to some nurse (I heard her complaining about me), then the nurse opened the door and asked me to come back. However, THEN she blocked my wife from entering, and when I said I wanted her to come back, she said no, only me. Well at that point I said I won't do it without my wife, so we had to leave ultimately. I should point out that my wife is my caretaker, helping me through this knee replacement, recent diagnosis of untreatable liver failure, and lapses of memory, along with serious bouts of depression. I do not talk to my doctors without her present, and this has never been a problem until today. I will also point out that we are both fully vaccinated, masked, and always respectful of the reasonable precautions necessary in some circumstances - this follow up visit was not one of them. I was a medical provider for just over 40 years before I had to retire for health reasons, and I never, ever remember anyone being treated so poorly as I was today, in this DMC office, by DMC staff. As I love my doctor, I am extremely disappointed to now being forced to consider a change; not to mention I have not received the follow-up exam and care that I need after such major surgery. Worst. Experience. Ever.

I would personally like to thank Dr. John Morasso for the excellent care I have received. He…read moreDiagnosed my knee pain and implemented a plan to get me going again. I can work now with no pain and I'm making progress getting back to long distance bicycling. Dr. Morasso is a true professional with the great ability to explain and listen. I'm 100% confident that I will be totally back to normal very soon. Dr. Morasso you Rock! I would also like his amazing staff. Tina and Juli are true assets to your office. Happy smiling faces that are great at what they do and always keep you informed. Two more Rock Stars! I'm grateful that I found DMC Specialists in Orthopedic Surgery - Commerce Township Mi.

He's thorough when he knows what he's talking about, honest when he doesn't, and doesn't dance around with platitudes. I'm going to guess that's a bit off-putting by people who are used to being coddled, but for me, I really appreciate his approach. I don't want to be pals and talk about the Tigers game for 8 of the 10 minutes he's in the room. I want to not feel sick. Done and done. Getting a same-day appointment isn't too difficult if you've got something legit, and though it may not be with the Doctor himself, his PA is at least as good. I've never once felt like "Okay, go get the doctor" when I've seen her. I also appreciate not being left in the waiting room forever, or being brought back near my appointment, only to be left in the exam room for 45 minutes. When I've asked for a same-day appointment, the longest I've waited was maybe 20 minutes total. With appointments, it's usually about 10 minutes. I'm pretty quick to change doctors when something seems amiss, but I can honestly say that I don't think I've ever been to a practice that's instilled -- and more importantly, earned -- nearly implicit trust.
