When I gave it to her for inspection, she immediately noticed tears in the lining of the zipper that I'd hadn't noticed myself. That's when I knew she had an eagle eye and I was working with an expert. I picked up the skirt exactly 7 days later (for $10 less than I paid at the other shop for a zipper replacement) and the work was so pristine that I almost thought they hadn't gotten to it yet. It's a whole new zipper from top to bottom that looks exactly like the faulty one. This place is the BEES KNEES! I ran into another customer at the shop who assured me they were the best! Cant wait to see what else in my closet needs to be altered.

This visit to Kare's included altering a pair of jeans and this time when they altered by pants I was not satisfied with the length, I wanted the length to be a little higher and without any problems they simply took the jeans back and re-did them at no charge. This is what you call great customer service and also the reason why I will go back to Kare's; I drive about 1/2 hour to get this place; it's the only alteration place I use. Thank you!

Most…read morerecently, they PERFECTLY fixed a skirt for my wedding outfit after it was pretty seriously damaged at the dry cleaner. This repair involved not only repairing a large rip, but also unstitching and restitching 16 panels in the skirt and hemming multiple layers of fabric (they moved part of the bottom border to the part of the skirt with the rip to cover it). My skirt had a complicated pattern and was a delicate material, so all of this had to be very carefully and expertly done. My skirt came out looking better than I could have imagined - they are so skillful. The work is very high-quality and at a fair price. Drop-off and pick-up is on Saturdays (limited hours) in downtown Decatur or you can coordinate via text with Barwin to pick up at their home. I'm definitely willing to make the time in my Saturday schedule to go to them because they are that good at what they do. If you need a good tailor, I highly recommend Barwin and Yaser at Morning Star.

Had several things altered that were incredibly overpriced for the alterations but I wanted to support a small, local neighborhood business. When I was trying on a dress, the seamstress said very disparaging comments (and that was the sign that I probably needed to leave but I was under a time crunch). The seamstress mentioned she would change the straps on one of the dresses and that didn't occur. The worst part of the experience is that she literally handed me a bag with all of my items crumpled up. They were not returned on a hanger. They were not steamed or pressed. She simply balled up my nice clothes as if it was dirty laundry after the alterations were completed. It created such a huge inconvenience and I highly recommend you find someone else to do your alterations.
