I was impressed with all the testing that was performed but I am REALLY DISAPPOINTED with the final step of the process. It was like buying a used car. The bad experience starts with my referring optometrist who I conveyed my financial situation to. Then with both Medicare and Medigap insurance I was told that I would have to spend SEVERAL THOUSAND dollars out of pocket to get the service they discussed. Otherwise I would have to settle for a different doctor with much reduced outcome expectations. I just got out of a 6 month hospital stay at PV Hospital, UCLA and an assisted living facility where I paid $ZERO out of pocket and was never made to feel that I had to accept a second string Cardiologist or that my heart won't work as well as it could if I would just pay more. This is nothing more than unprofessional bait and switch to me. As a lifelong Camarillo resident I don't appreciate being subjected to crap like this. read more

Excellent!!! So happy with the service! I can see perfectly! No more glasses! Great staff! And it was a lot less than Laser Eye Center! Dr Bala did the surgery. Life changing read more

My husband just had lasik done. It was super easy to make an appointment for a consultant and surgery. And then when I had to postpone the surgery they were very easy to work with. Recovery is quick and they are very responsive to any questions. read more

I can't express how impressed I was at how I was treated. From his staff and how I was handled at the Camarillo office to the nurses, anesthesiologists and the doctor himself in the Westlake Surgery Center. High expertise and care was preeminent. I had my 2nd eye surgery today and if it results in the fashion of the first it will be beyond expectations. Thank you to all involved. read more

I had LASIK surgery this past Monday and I have to say this is the best decision I have ever made! This is truly life changing. I have 20/20 vision now. I can see everything and I don't have to worry about losing my glasses anymore. The time was just perfect with my stepson and niece's graduation. I saw them perfectly without squinting. I have to say Dr. Dougherty did an amazing job. His experience, knowledge, professionalism and efficiency are remarkable. He made me feel so comfortable and he is so patient with you. He listens if you have any concerns and answers you with honesty. I also want to thank the staff for being nice and accommodating. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! read more

Arrogant doctor, long wait, vision still poor. Dr. Dougherty was actually making tee times in the front reception area while his patients waited, and waited, their turn. My first appointment took at least 3 hours, more than half of which was spent... waiting! Surgery was fine, but my vision was not improved. I was probably not a candidate, but I'm guessing they don't turn anyone away. Very disappointed! read more

Excellent customer service we were taken care of from the moment that we walked through the door. Chondra greeted us with a huge smile and was super willing to make sure all of our needs were met and then offered fresh baked cookies! I usually hate going to the eye doctor but given the was I was treated I can't wait to come Back to Dougherty Laser Vision! read more

I was quoted $10,500. For cataract surgery on both eyes. ( in addition to what medicare pays.) I would suggest everyone get a second opinion from a skilled eye surgeon who does't need to use a laser, to achieve excellent outcomes. I saved $9000. and I can see perfectly without glasses. read more

I had an absolutely perfect result on the LASIK procedure I received from Dr. Dougherty in April 2004. My regular eye doctor was amazed and had never seen a result that good that healed so quickly and perfectly. I chose Dr. Dougherty because my boss went to him. My boss researched doctors for ages before choosing. Several other people in my office also went to Dr. Dougherty and all were satisfied with their results. read more

I did a ton of research and this guy is Amazing. I even read his book that he has out, which went through a lot of details which helped me overcome my fears of this surgery. I got the surgery done June 16th (yesterday) and I see now at 20/15. Way better than I was before in contacts and glasses. I can't speak more highly of the people there, the doctors and especially Dr. Dougherty. I got Z-Lasik done and would recommend this to everyone. I have heard and heard about the time it takes to get it all done (and I am sure it depends on your vision (mine was -2.75 / -3.00), but each eye took no time at all. The cutting of the flap was done in 20 seconds and the lasik part was 40 seconds...this was per eye. So there you have it. I wouldn't go anywhere else but here!!!! I have had some friends go to other doctors and had good results, though Dougherty is the best and you can see so by reading his book and reading about him everywhere. Thanks for the better than perfect vision!!! read more

Dr. Dougherty is outstanding ! He graduated #1 in his class at UCLA Medical school, and then graduated with honors from Jules Stein Ophthalmology Institute in Westwood, CA. He lectures and teaches all over the world. He has performed LASIK and later bilateral cataract surgery on me and LASIK on my wife and family members. Dr. Dougherty is, in my opinion, the best! read more

I had a wonderful experience with the front desk receptionist, back office technicians and surgery techs. Maritza talked me through the prep portion before the Dr came in. Dr Dougherty had great bedside manner and i felt at ease during the entire procedure. I have since verbally referred my friends and family to Dr Dougherty. read more

I am a practicing optometrist in Camarillo. For over ten years I have referred my patients to Dougherty Laser vision center for cataract, and laser vision surgery including LASIK and PRK. I perform all the post-op follow up care for these patients. The precise and consistent vision results that Dr Paul Dougherty achieves is amazing. During this past year I developed significant cataracts that required surgery. For me there was no other choice for a surgeon to operate on my eyes. I have worn glasses since I was was eight year old. I was never a good candidate for contacts or LASIK vision correction. The options for cataract surgery however offer opportunities to be eyeglass free. Dr. Dougherty sat down with me and discussed all the options that were appropriate for my particular case and then decided on a surgical plan. I had my first eye done a month ago that provided me with perfect distance vision. I had my second eye done last week. My second eye had astigmatism so we decided to implant an astigmatism correcting lens which also focused my eye at near so I could work and read up close without any glasses. For the first time since age 8 I can work and play without glasses. The only glasses I now need are non-prescription sunglasses. My entire experience at Dougherty Laser Vision was a joy and very professional. The staff all took very good care of me and treated me with compassion and professionalism. Thank-you Dougherty Laser Vision for the wonderful care you have given to me and the hundreds of my patients you have cared for. Dr. Michael Ross, O.D. read more

I had a virtual appointment last Thursday 10-1-20. I had confirmed my appointment multiple times and pre filled out all paper work days in advance. The office even confirmed receiving my application in a email and text. The day of my appointment I was supposed to receive a text with my log in, info. "Note that one of our staff members will text you a link 15 minutes prior to your appointment time for virtual check-in. " I never received my text message. I repeatedly called and I tried emailing, with not response. I did reach the multi office receptionist/operator, who also tried calling Adriana. He said she was on another call and he messaged her to call me. No one ever called, emailed or text me. Apparently the staff left and just ignored my appointment. It's been a week and none of my phone calls, email or text was replied to. The only thing I did get was a text asking me to rate my experience and I can get a $10 gift card. I am left to believe that they do not care about customer service or potential patient. How can you trust someone with something as important as your eye sight, if they do not care about the client. read more

Dr. Dougherty is at THE TOP of his field. A quick Google search will reveal that. Not only has he pioneered many of the techniques in his field, but he's an incredibly generous person who gives back with his gift. He has a non-profit foundation where he goes on mission trips to developing countries and gives people the gift of sight for free. Not all doctors are in it for the right reason, but Dr. D is. Do your research before choosing a doctor! Anyway, about my surgery...I had PRK, which is basically LASIK without the flap. My entire experience, from the pre-op to surgery and post-ops, has been incredibly seamless and enjoyable. Dr. D and his staff are friendly, competent, and efficient. I underwent PRK as opposed to LASIK because Dr. D wanted to be extra careful, scanning my eyes several times and recognizing that my eye shape was not ideal for LASIK. Whereas other doctors might have not bothered to scan thoroughly and just done LASIK and sent me on my way, Dr. D was cautious and recommended PRK. Recovery time is longer, but I'm glad we went the safest, most effective route. read more

Dr. Daugherty! He is amazing! I had implantable contact lenses put in December 2014 and my only regret is not doing it sooner. I wore glasses from age 6 and contacts for over 10 years. It was only a difference of $200 and well worth it for me. I have drier eyes and poor night vision. The surgery takes place in West Lake Village. The girls answering the phones aren't the most helpful sometimes but everything else was wonderful. I went back to work the next day (I recommend taking 1 day to rest though) with no problems. They took Care Credit too so I will have it paid off in August and have not paid any interest to date. I had night halos for a while for almost a year but they are now gone. I have 20/30 vision which I call my HD eyes:) read more

Dr, Dougherty is a consummate professional, and his staff is perfectly trained and entirely responsive. Of his many associates, Mayka Choma was especially helpful. The team at DLV is extremely capable and genuinely cares about their patients well-being. Staff interacts with you in a manner more akin to that of a five star luxury hotel than something I'd expect to see in a doctor's office. It's all very organized, kind but with a sense of purpose. read more

For over 10 years I lived with vision loss knowing I was a candidate for LASIK surgery. At every eye exam my optometrist would refer me to Dougherty Laser Vision for a LASIK consultation but I never scheduled an appointment. The fear of the unknown had me convinced that my vision wasn't a priority and that the daily struggle, time, and money spent on wearing contacts was okay. Little did I know that I would later be blessed with a job at Dougherty Laser Vision as the executive assistant to Dr. Dougherty and Renata, the CEO. Every day I witness first-hand the many investments Dr. Dougherty and his team put into each patient experience to ensure they receive the BEST care from start to finish. That's why Dr. Dougherty only uses state-of-the-art technology and equipment. Needless to say, it didn't take very long before my concerns about surgery disappeared. I am now 8 days post-surgery and I can say whole-heartedly that having Dr. Dougherty perform my LASIK surgery was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I regret not having it done sooner. To prove how easy the procedure was- the picture taken of me and Dr. Dougherty was AFTER my surgery! I had walked out of the operating room with improved vision and zero discomfort. How crazy is that!?! The entire procedure took less than 15 minutes and it changed my life forever. Dougherty Laser Vision doesn't just perform LASIK surgery; the list of services ranges from routine eye exams to cataract surgery. Dr. Dougherty has never turn a patient away because he doesn't have the technology or knowledge to meet their needs. That's why so many doctors and celebrities go to him for refractive surgery. Thank you Dr. Dougherty, Renata, Dr. Youcefi, Dr. Le, Dr. Vosoghi, and the entire team for an AMAZING patient experience and for my 20/20 vision!!! I am beyond blessed and proud to call you my colleagues and dear friends! read more

My optometrist recommended Dr. Dougherty for my cataract surgery so I went for a pre-op appointment. I was very impressed with their level of professionalism and the time they spent with me reviewing all options to make sure we selected the right option for me. They also spent a lot of time to make sure they had an accurate reading of my eyesight and I never felt rushed even though it is sometimes hard for me to read the charts and it takes time. The staff was friendly and customer oriented. I plan to have my surgery with them next month. Dr Dougherty uses laser technology as an option which appeals to me. read more

This was my second visit to see Dr. Visoghi at the Camarillo office, and again, I was so impressed with how professional everyone was. Everyone knows what their job is and does it exceptionally well. The reception staff is not sitting around talking about their personal lives in earshot of the patients, like at so many offices I've been to. Nope; these folks are actually there to professionally serve you. The technician who did some of the testing was excellent, and Dr. Visoghi is wonderful- very personable, knowledgeable, and you can tell he loves what he does. read more

I went here for my cataract surgery and dr. Dougherty is very knowledgeable. I had the HD lenses and opted for the laser surgery vs the knife. I know the laser costs more, I highly recommend it. I gave them 3 stars because 1. I waited for so long in the lobby just to meet the doctor for consultation and 2. The guy assistant that did the test was very unprofessional. He didn't explain what tests he is doing and what for. When he was supposed to put some drops in my eye, I asked him what he is doing and he reacted by giving me a flyer that explains all the tests. Well, I didn't get that flyer prior to the tests. Then he started telling his co-workers about me complaining. Then later he suggested what kind of lenses I should take and I asked: are you the doctor? He said No and I said, I would like to discuss it with the Doctor instead. I mean I've never met a doc's assistant to do recommendations. When I go to my regular doctor, the nurse always tell me in advance what they will be doing. If you go here, make sure you ask for that flyer. Btw, I have PPO and after having 2 cataract surgeries with dr. Dougherty, my portion including lenses, doctor bills, surgery center fees m, etc came up to $13k. read more
