Not a fan. Tried it twice. The BBQ is dry and plain tasting and the ribs didn't do it for me either. Sausage was good. BBQ sandwiches are pressed flat for some reason and burned a little from the process. Sauces were good. Bought two bottles. The baked beans and coleslaw were good. Sweet potato pie was OK. Order Taker/cook was impatient. The order was correct though. Food took uncommonly long to come up. It was just ribs and two sides. All they had to do was slop up the plate and hand it over, but I sat there over 30 minutes watching people who came in after me leave with their food. When I asked if I should order something else, I was told food was prepared as the order came in. Nevertheless, I'm done here. Hog-N-Bones gets it out quick every time and it is delicious. The best BBQ sandwich in town. Went to this place with a local person that ate here since 1950 when they 1st opened. He told me this is the best pulled pork sandwich in town and DK did not disappoint us. They bun is so crunchy and the meat is melt in your mouth. This is a hole in the wall with just a few tables and it's reasonable price. I would love to come back here again. read more

I was raised up eating DKs when I visited my family in Waycross GA as a child. Today, it's harder to get to DKs since I rarely travel to Waycross. However, recently while in Douglas I was craving DKs, sadly to say their hours of operation was not convenient. The food is great! Very simple but good! Signs say the souths oldest BBQ and when we drove up, we weren't sure about walking in. The yelp maps were not right, but we eventually found the place via google maps. The street sign says "folk street". This part is not about the food but do NOT go to the restroom here. It is a scarey thing. DH ordered a rib plate and I ordered the special of two medium BBQ sandwiches for $5. The baked beans were seasoned with brown sugar and had plenty of ground beef. I liked them. Went here with a local. The BBQ sandwich is pressed, interesting. I had mine with their Hot BBQ sauce and I enjoyed the sandwich. The place is small, three or four tables, if you're looking for a "slick" BBQ restaurant this may not be what you're looking for, this is a BBQ joint. DK's BBQ is a FIXTURE here in Waycross and provides the BEST BBQ anywhere in Ware County....and if I may say IN THE STATE OF GEORGIA!!! The Delectable sauce and the way that they prepare and press their BBQ sandwiches is unique to this town and this restaurant and can be enjoyed nowhere else. My family and many Many MANY people here in Ware County have been enjoying this food for many decades and I pray they're around for MANY decades to come! Went here for the first time. The place is tiny! Only 3 or 4 booths to sit at. We got our order to go. We went during the lunch rush so they seemed slow. The staff wasn't very personable but they were quick with taking orders. On the plus side, the food is good. read more

I've remembered having DK's as a kid since the mid 80's. So passing through Waycross again I had to try it some 20 years later. It was good but my parents said since the original owner died many years ago, he took all the recipes to the grave and it just wasn't the same. The sandwiches were big and really reasonably priced. Soooo good... Nothing fancy, but the pulled pork, the rubs, the slaw and the tea are all amazing...

The brunswick stew here is addictive. Very good. Recommend the brunswick stew.
