HomeGround Construction Pools & Services

(1 review)

I hired Maxie Jason Graves (full name is important) owner/operator of Homeground for a project in…read moreBowling Green, Kentucky that included a pole barn and semi-inground pool. While there is not enough space here to detail the full scope of what has occurred & ongoing over the past 7 months, I strongly encourage anyone considering doing business with him to conduct thorough research before proceeding with any of his current companies, including Homeground Construction, Homeground Pools & Decks. His previous company Tri-County Outdoor Services LLC contractor license was revoked in 2018. Homeground was later issued a license after he applied under his full name. Many concerns raised by former customers are difficult to find because comments and complaints have been removed from social media and customers who voiced concerns have been blocked. Please verify public records through the Warren County Contractor Licensing Board and the Kentucky Secretary of State Business Entity Database. Our project received a Stop Work Order in December 2025 after multiple failed foundation inspections. We were forced to terminate our relationship with Mr. Graves after paying tens of thousands of dollars for missing, incomplete, and deficient work. We then retained a civil engineer to develop a remediation plan before construction could legally proceed. The financial impact was substantial. We incurred additional expenses for demolition, new contractor, a new foundation, a new pole barn kit, pool remediation, and replacement pool equipment. One example of his deception involved pool equip, we paid $2,814.50 for a 24-inch sand filter and 2 HP pump package w/ 3 cutoffs. After investigation, the equip installed was an 18-inch Lanchez sand filter with a 1.5 HP pump, 2 cutoffs w/ a Walmart retail of $250. I encourage prospective customers to perform due diligence, verify licensing history, demand proof of insurance and bond he could never supply, and inspect public records before even picking up the phone.

PREDATORY PRICING!!…read more Asked for a quote to do a spark plug insert. They called, and initially tried to sell a new or reman head, not recommending the FACTORY Ford fix. I personally did the repair on the cylinder necessary, but followed up with asking for a quote to fix the rest. Was quoted almost double the dealer fix, with stipulations that I provide the parts and sealants necessary. STAY AWAY!!! Half the phone call was telling me not to trust other people in the Clarksville area because they're incompetent. I think homie needs to look in the mirror if he thinks he can charge almost double without providing anything but labor. Got a quote from a different mobile mechanic in Clarksville (with good reviews) to do a preventative insert repair for the remaining 7 cylinders for less than the cost of one single cylinder from Free Agent. I rarely post a review, but felt it necessary to warn anyone considering this company. Would give zero stars if I could. Edit: to address this laughable attempt to save face, going to respond point by point. 1. dealerships absolutely guarantee their work. Part of the reason to consider the dealer instead of some idiot mobile mechanic. 2. Your pricing is predatory bc you spent almost 20 minutes on the phone call telling me not to trust anyone else. Someone scared of losing their only vehicle may fall for this trap, it's unethical and a terrible business tactic. 3. Yes you work in the elements like anyone else who CHOOSES to do so. You can't charge more for having to deal with weather. Let alone not bringing tools, parts, sealants, anything but your hands. I did the job outside in the weather perfectly fine, no one is giving me any accolades for doing so. 4. Mobile mechanics have always charged less, that's the draw to use you instead of dealers. 5. Suggesting / insisting on a new head may give more assurance that the repair is solid, but is not necessary without attempting an insert, as that is THE FACTORY FIX. If you are too incompetent to do the job, just admit that. 6. To call yourself the Ferrari of mobile mechanics with one yelp review (probably from a family member or friend) is the best joke I've heard all year.

Highly recommend. Very knowledgeable and thorough! Usually responds immediately and will come to…read moreyou if needed.
