When Ollie started on the fitting, it quickly became apparent that the door was the wrong size, it was warped because I'd stored it improperly, and the frame was badly out of alignment. None of this caused Ollie to drop his cheery smile, and even though the job clearly took MUCH longer than he would have expected, he happily finished the job to a very high standard, after facing every possible problem imaginable! Not once did Ollie start to frown, tut-tut, and suggest that the job would be more expensive than his quote. I also had a summerhouse which had just been delivered, and a few days later, Ollie put the summerhouse up (without any problems this time!). Anyone reading this review, please read it carefully and think twice before hiring anyone. I don't…read morenormally write reviews, but I think it is my duty to protect others from traders like MSC, who do not do the job correctly let alone finish it. MSC carpentry & construction Ltd. gave me a quote for my small and easy extension job. I accepted the quote and paid the 50% deposit. The agreed date of finish was in 3 weeks after the start date. First week, there was no problem, but I guess this is because, first week's work was outsourced to a different company. The nightmare started from second week. There was no work done, but a demand for additional money came; as per MSC, this is for; "to be on legal side, to get drawings and building control approval". I paid the amount, to make sure there is no delay from me. Since then, MSC has done only 20% of the job at the most in 7 weeks. They did not apply for building control or get the drawings done by architects even after chasing them many times. So, finally I applied for the building control, planning control myself and got the drawings done. They took the additional money for no reason. The baffling news came when building control inspector visited the site and failed the foundation for multiple reasons. They put me in a very awkward situation, I cannot leave the things as it is and if I have to finish the extension or bring my garden to what it was before, I will have to dismantle the work they have done by paying additional money to someone. This is because MSC never answer calls or return your calls. They only thing they do is keep promising over the email/WhatsApp messages as an act of procrastination. In short, MSC took 77% of the total amount for doing less than 20% of the work and that too failed to pass by building control.
