HORRIBLE BAR. Just a heads up, if you want to come to this bar, make sure you come with your people because they WILL gang up on you. I was here this weekend with my boyfriend, brother in law and his wife and everything was okay 'til the girls there got drunk and started a fight. Everyone knows everyone there so no matter what, it's all of them against you. We tried defending ourselves and at the end of the day, we were the ones that got in trouble because they all ganged up on us. Keep in mind, we're not even from Ridgecrest. We had just gotten there THAT night from San Diego and wanted to chill for a bit. The DJ was awesome. Great music, very cool guy. Besides that, horrible experience. Probably my 10th time in in five years and still pretty consistent. Sandi behind the bar is a pro, always amazing to find a top-notch person slinging drinks in a small town dive bar (not really a dive but just smaller and not trying for fancy). The bar food is decent enough, place is a tad grungy but it's comfortable. And ... back in July 2019 I happened to be in here drinking Bud and doing shots when the 7.1 earthquake. Glass everywhere. Stopped by for a couple drinks in a busy Friday evening. Pretty rowdy place, but everyone treated us well and one bartender in particular, Sandi was impressive. One of the better dive bars in town. A Good size bar, indoor area with pool tables and a outdoor area for smoking with drinks. Serving Tap beers and stiff cocktails with A small food menu of fried foods, my favorite wing spot in town. Also a good variety of happy female bartenders. read more

I dropped in on a Thursday evening as an out-of-town stranger with my brother on a roadtrip to Phoenix from Sacramento. We were looking for drinks and a bite to eat before we went to our hotel. The bartender was friendly and attentive (and smokin' hot, but I digress), she took our drink and food order and set us up with the drinks. We grabbed a booth and within ten or fifteen minutes she brought out our food- Fish and chips for me, prawns and chips for my bro. The food was excellent. Fries were hot, perfectly crispy and lightly salted, fish was expertly deep-fried. Wow they got it right and definitely showed pride of product. The crowd was a mix of old and young and generally pretty chill as bars go. We were prepared with cash, but they now take cards as well. Also apparently the deep-fried mini burritos are no longer on the menu. I suspect it might get a lil crazy on the weekends at night, but don't be shy about stopping in for a drink and a bite to eat! read more

DJ's is the best pub in Ridgecrest...afterall it is one of but a few. But I always come here multiple times while I'm in town and always have a good time. They have relatively cheap drinks, friendly bartenders, bar food, games, and a pretty decent jukebox. They have Knob Creek and Makers Mark...not a bad standard Bourbon selection for a dive...and it's cheap too. They also have quite a few different types of beer both on tap and bottled. They also serve enormous mugs for relatively cheap. The location across the street from Tommy T's means that it is convenient to "bar hop" as well. The bartender Cheyenne was very rude and more focused on her phone then the customers she had. A customer had to smack the counter to get her attention, and when he did she was very snooty and had attitude. She didn't seem to know much about anything and wasmt very friendly. Hands down my favorite bar in town. Great atmosphere, patrons and staff. Playing pool is a must and the music selection is on point. Drinks are always tasty and there is plenty of seating for everyone. The food is some of the best small pub food that I've had; a nice variety of fried items with great sauces. When Lisa, the owner, makes specials they are out of this world. For Super Bowl Sunday Lisa made Sierra Nevada Bratwurst and potato salad that were delicious. read more

Before tonight I would have recommended DJs over most other places to grab a drink. After tonight I'd say you're better off almost anywhere else. Especially if you're not white. Watched a guy (a regular who is white) walk over and confront a guy (black) who was dancing very animatedly but not hurting anyone. The black man tells him he's just dancing and continues to dance and kind of taunt the regular. The regular gets pissed and hits him (the punch didn't do much as he's a drunken moron but doesn't change that he tried). The black man is the one escorted out while the loud ass regular who started the whole confrontation and threw the punch without provocation gets pulled away and hugged. I confront the bouncers and staff so they calmly walk the regular (letting him stop and talk and hug others as he goes) out. Then while outside he gets to joke and laugh and bullshit with everyone right outside the front door while the black guy who got punched gets walked off to the side of the street and left there. Complete horse shit. I personally won't have anything to do with this bar anymore. I was not involved in any way and don't know either men at all. The difference in treatment between both gentlemen was ridiculous. If it wasn't racism it was bias of some sort. read more

My bf and I were doing laundry at laundry mat down the way. While we were waiting we decided to have a beer while we waited for the laundry. I always love checking out hole in the walls. We walked in the afternoon on a Friday and it was dark and cool. Perfect because it was 90 degrees out. They had Newcastle, Sam Adams, Guinness and a Hef on draft. 4.50 a pint. The bartender was very nice, plenty of seating and the other patrons were arguing about whether we landed on the moon. Perfect! read more

Dive bar but it's got the essentials. Cash only which is inconvenient - but they have an ATM inside if you want to bother with the fee. Only a small selection of beers on tap. They have a dart board, but I found it to be oddly placed. It was right next to tables where people walk so I can't see anyone actually playing. Shuffleboard, pool, and jukebox available, and it was pretty hoppin' on a Saturday night. $4.50 for a pint- if I have cash on me I'd go back (so archaic, who doesn't have direct deposit these days and put everything on credit?! Dj's pub is potentially the worst bar I've ever been to. I've lived in a lot of different places and I'll be the first to say "I've seen some s#!$". But never once in all my years have I been treated so poorly by an entire staff of floozies. I'll begin by stating I have frequented this establishment in the 2 years I have lived in Ridgecrest. When I first arrived in town I was informed DJ's is the place to be- good drinks, pool tables, friendly vibe, not too many people, cold beer--everything I look for in a dive bar. It started off well, for the first few months I was there once or twice a week after getting off work. It's centrally located and a convenient 10 minute walk from basically anywhere in town. I'd say it took a downhill turn about a year ago, when they lost their senior bartender, Diane I believe is her name. She must've been the glue that held that place together because ever since then it's been a joke. On more than one occasion, I have ordered a pitcher of beer to share with friends and every single one of us got sick, they do not clean their beer lines. Their staff of untrained bartenders refused to make recognition of that when informed them that our pitcher of Firestone Walker 805 tasted like a used sponge. I was more than happy to let it go at this point due to my continuing patronage at this establishment, everyone has bad days. However-- this exact experience repeated itself just just two nights ago. The beer tasted bad, the bartenders dismissed my friends and myself, even adding to it by kicking us out of the bar without a word of explanation or warning. My recommendation is to spend the extra cash and get a cab to one of the other bars in town, Partner's or Fury's, even Tommy's, unless you prefer getting sick from unclean lines and treated like vermin by bartenders who aren't old enough to spit. read more

I go to Ridgecrest about once a month. DJ's is always a stopover for this thirsty visitor to the desert. DJ's Pub is a good place. Many different and interesting people frequent it, from the very wealthy to the 48%. Where else can you buy a $5.00 pitcher at Happy Hour and get a basket of wings on Tuesday for $6? Except for the lack of cigarette smoke and music, the ambience has not changed since it was "Pretty Pat's Place" in the 70s & 80s. The location will scare you, with the closed down Laundromat next door, smoke shop, church and Tommy T's across the street, and on a street that goes nowhere in a circle. But once inside, you will feel the comfort of a welcoming atmosphere, cheap beer and good grinds. The service is friendly and fairly prompt at happy hour. Check it out. read more
