Ate here tonight for a quick Friday early dinner. I ended up getting the hot honey chicken sandwich, but I got my chicken grilled instead of breaded. It came with hot honey and coleslaw on top. Overall, it like a 3/5. The bread could've been more soft. I got a baked potato instead of fries and the baked potato was also maybe a 3/5. I added butter and sour cream to it. If you are an Omaha native you are likely familiar with Djs. DJs is a great place to go to watch sports, many TVs, menu selection pretty typical for a sports bar, but I am rarely disappointed in my experience. We stopped in for lunch, got the daily special, prime rib sandwich with 'all three' and an order of nachos. The sandwich was good, I appreciate the fact that they use Swiss cheese opposed to a mozzarella, provolone, or American. It was on special, so it was a pretty good deal. A little lite on the french fries, in my opinion. My wife got the nachos. All I can say is buckle up and either bring your appetite or a few friends. We had to get two to-go boxes. read more

This is a huge, reasonable sports bar. Not my normal go-to, yet it serves well as an inexpensive meeting place for a frugal friend. Being likewise frugal, I respect his choice. Parking is easy. Finding it is easy. Many beers and stronger liquors. They had what everyone wanted. Pleased with that. It was loud. Hard to converse, or rather, to hear conversation. This is a fun and relaxing place the stop by for drinks and tasty food. I went to watch the Nebraska Huskers on their big screen TVs. DJs Dugout has always been our go-to place for watching games (as it's the closest sports bar to our house). Is it absolutely a five star spot? Not so much. But is it a lot of fun, with pretty tasty food? Definitely. It can get pretty crowded and busy on big game days (which is part of the fun), but can be pretty noisy with that many people in a big boxy establishment. The service is always great, though, even if it can get a little slower to be served when they're swamped. The ambiance is pretty standard for a sports bar - with a literal bajillion TVs around, to play every game imaginable at all times, though they only have the sound on for whatever the biggest game of the night is. In terms if food, we have ordered a lot of different things on the menu in the many times we've been there, but I will tell you about our favorites. My favorite app is the pickle chips. They come with a flavorful and not too crispy batter and DJ's homemade ranch sauce for dipping. I am not a fan of super crispy fried pickles with a ton of thick batter, so these are right up my alley (and don't even get me STARTED on places that do pickle spears - ick LOL) My husband always starts out with a house salad, and he asks for a "butt load" of cheese, and they always oblige. He says there is something special about their croutons that elevates this salad - I know, croutons are a weird thing to get excited about. For my favorite entree, I always get the basket of boneless wings with the teriyaki sauce. This is going to sound familiar, as I said the same things about the fried pickles - but the breading is what makes these excellent! They're not all crispy breading and no chicken (that's my pet peeve with wings, when that happens). Their teriyaki sauce is pretty light and not gloopy like teriyaki can sometimes be, and the wings are especially tasty with their ranch for dipping! My better half gets the steak dinner, and it always comes super well cooked (I sneak a few bites), and is served with a side of tender steamed veggies, a baked potato with lots of toppings, and his favorite part - toast! They also have daily specials on the menu, if you want to check those out for the day you're thinking about heading there. Long story short - the food is pretty good for bar fare, so I would say this is a solid spot to check out for a big game, but it can be a little bit noisy/crowded when there ARE those big games, so just keep that in mind! read more

Here for the Chiefs game midway through and I didn't expect to find a seat but we did, and our server immediately came over to take our order, she was fast and efficient. I love the long beach, which is like a fruity long island. Then switched over to the brews, ice cold and went down smooth as the chiefs won the game. I've been here a few times and it's basically what you'd expect; noisy sports bar with bar level food and drinks. The drink menu has some great cocktail options that I was impressed with, and the steak I got was great for $16! Overall food and drink is better than the average bar in my experience. I've always had decent service until tonight when I came for the eagles game since they are an eagles bar. It was crowded and noisy, and I know they were down a server in the section I sat in. Our server didn't come for 30 minutes after we joined the group, so we waited a long time to even place an order. The drinks didn't take long to come out after this, but I got my meal and my partners' cheese curds had not even been rang in. The server apologized and took responsibility for this, but the frustrating part is that he was ringing things in on his tablet at our table as we ordered, so I really don't know how it happened. We were given an extra dessert accidentally, which was set on our table as our server walked to another table only to realize it belonged there. To our shock he came back and took the (untouched) dessert from us to the other table. I can only hope he explained the mistake to them without offering the dessert that had been set in front of us, vs. explaining and offering it to them. Either way a bad look since the mistake was noticed and it is clear they threw out the dessert after setting it in front of us when they should have just let us keep it regardless of how bad our experience had been by then. We had to go to the bar to pay after waiting 20 minutes, since our server cashed everyone out but us, and then walked away. Not a good experience service-wise, but the restaurant itself is fine. I'd consider coming back again, just never in a busy rush/game night where they could possibly be understaffed again. read more

Went there last night to meet a friend. Typical DJ's experience - not a very friendly server and just ok bar food. Nothing to brag about or recommend to anyone. To be honest, in all of my years going to DJ's, I've never heard anyone say that they had a great meal there. It's just ok. The service is ok, the staff is ok, the food is ok. We definitely went on a a bad night, because they had Nebraska volleyball on almost every TV and the sound was loud. There were only like 4 people interested in the game. I met my husband and co-workers for lunch here last week, and we all sat at the bar. The employees working the bar area were very nice and quick to grab our drinks and/food. I went with the patty melt, but I wish I had gone with one of the LTO menu options because I was really eyeing the fried fish. The patty melt was good, but I must not have been in the mood for it. The Thursday night steak special is what draws me in. However, the steaks are always hit or miss. Sometimes they are very good, other times they are dry and taste older and reheated. The servers are always very nice but consistently seem new and inexperienced. I'm thinking they must have high turnover. I can't fault them for that. The deciding factor for my 3 vs 4 star review was the bar bill.. 8$ for a white claw. Someone should tell them these are high noon prices. Try $6 for a white claw. My family and I have been coming to DJ's Dugout for many years for their wings on Wednesdays. I believe they still have that special, but I came here most recently to meet family on a Friday around 6 p.m. We never have trouble finding a table for a group. The service is okay. They're attentive enough, but sometimes you have to flag someone down if you need something, or there are minor mistakes like tabs not split correctly. The food is pretty decent. I have really only had burgers and wings. Most recently I got char-buffed wings, which were good, except a couple were super charred. No biggie though. They usually have happy hour specials on domestic beers, and they have a couple good local drafts. Although I was disappointed that they didn't have the Kinkaider beer that was on their menu. We came here with our Legion baseball team for dinner (we called ahead as we had 40 in our group) and they were very accommodating and the service was top notch! I get the sports bar appeal - the size and variety of the television screens and projectors showing just about every sporting event available has something for everyone. We had traveled all day to get to Omaha before 5pm so we did not stop for lunch along the way. I asked for a glass of ice water and could feel the disgust so I quickly added a glass of red wine. Brooke S is one of the worst servers and her manager tonight was pretty pathetic himself. Did not ask how our food was, did not bring over any refills, we had to ASK where our server was. She said she was too busy doing other work. We asked for the manager. He did not apologize or ask if there was anything wrong or asked how things went. He stood there with a blank stare and all he could say was that he would talk to her about it. Regardless of other stuff you need to get done, when you have tables, or need to make sure the customers are well taken care of. Plus the new way they do the bill is stupid. I've been to two other locations and I'm never disappointed. We decided to try this location out Since we was in the area. As usual we sit at the bar so we can play a little Keno. The place looked good and clean there was a lot of people there watching sports. I soon as we got to the bar he was approached by a staff member ordered some drinks. And of course I'm used to the food menu. I had to Philly with extra meat steak and chicken with fries it tasted good. My fiancé ordered Cuban melt sandwich. He stated it was OK but he don't feel he would order it again it just wasn't for him. We came here with a group of 12 people and were more than disappointed with our service. The waitress forgot to take half of our tables order, did not bring us half of our appetizers and acted annoyed when we brought it to her attention. We had two people who had allergies at the table and told them that one of the women with us was gluten intolerant and could not have flour chips with the nachos and needed corn tortilla chips...they mix flour and corn and she winds up getting one of the flour tortilla chips And has an allergic reaction and when we tell the staff about it they did NOTHING. This should have been a sign - a bar this empty 7pm on a Saturday night isn't good. They weren't short staffed, the waitresses were mulling around by the pop station chatting and not checking on customers so couldn't really figure out what was taking so long. I have to agree with a lot of the other reviews, there are a lot of TVs here, the food is overpriced and below average, and the service is ok Ordered a Cuban sandwich, I couldn't believe how flavorless it was! Where do I start? This is going to be good. Listen carefully before you jump down my throat or interrupt me at any time. I have been going there for 2 years. I lost interest in coming here for these specific reasons. 1. Well Too Expensive. DJs Dugout raised their prices three times in a calendar year. The year is not over yet. Do not blame coronavirus on this, you did it twice last year. You guys are the most expensive sports bar in the city. I thought Brewskys was bad at least they have more specials and they are getting better than what they were 4 years ago. 2. The GM himself Steve. He always had a bad vibe for me. He always watched me like a hawk, treated me differently than his goodie tooshoe friends he has dickrided or the friends who dickride him. There were 7 times (yes I counted) in a calendar year that he was mad that I was cheering so loud and supposedly scaring customers away. The most recent one was on NFL Sunday. Yes. On a Football Day!!! 'I'm sorry I thought this was a Football State.' This was not baseball and not hockey this time. THIS WAS FOOTBALL SUNDAY!! How I know, my baseball I cheered for didn't play until tomorrow in the MLB playoffs. NLCS Third Round. That was my best alibi. My friend can prove it too because he was there and two bystanders stood up for me since Steve was being completely rude because I was cheering so loud scaring customers away and the Cowboys Fans were closer to those triggered little customers Steve has than me. He did not say a single word and they were louder than I was. What Steve did to me 7 different times especially this one is special treatment. Not only that though. Oh I got alot more to go. The next thing that Steve said that exact same time, he said to me that I never bought anything since I was there for 2 years and neither did my friend. That is 100% false. That was the time I made Steve learn his lesson and made him eat his words. 'Go To Every Waitress I Have Had Past or Present and they will say different! So I told him this after grilling him for saying I don't buy much. 'Be lucky buy at least 2 things normally when I am here, Steve. There is no law in any of the 50 states that I have to spend a certain amount to stay in a restaurant. My friend does not drink alcohol. Not because of AA, not because of his religion but because of his choice. If he has to buy alcohol or was forced to buy alcohol, that right there is a violation as well. You don't have to buy alcohol to stay at a bar. If you did that to him or any other customers you be sued by by the Omaha Restaurant Association and your location would not exist. As long as I am not destroying your property, smoking any drug in the bar, or even starting a fist fight or doing anything else against the stop being such a rude douchebag.' I even told him this. This is NOT a Husker bar. This is a sports bar. It says so on your sign, the menu, the advertisements, the website, and even on your polo. If it said 'Husker bar' I wouldn't be able to cheer for anything else hence 'Husker Bar. I think you should understand the difference. I could cheer for whatever sport I want. Don't ever embarrass me or treat me differently ever again. Heck I or someone else could cheer for sign spinning and there is nothing you can do about it. You don't reprimand anyone else being loud. Why the **** do you do it to me? Remember this was on NFL Sunday. Give Steve credit for just one thing. I and another person in the Eagles Nest crew was molested a drunk patron which I never seen in my life nor has the Eagles crew. While I was being molested by this drunk patron. I yelled and pointed to Steve. 'WTF Steve? special treatment alert. Special Treatment Alert. That was the one time Steve did anything right. I don't if he has banned for life but he was kicked out for the night. I did tell Steve 'thank you for doing that.' He did not respond on that. Taking a thank you for granted. That is rude enough despite him doing something right. There were only two times I did not buy anything in the two year span that I was there. 1. Had an interview close by. I lasted if lucky 30 min. I got water and left. Didn't stay long at all. 2. I had to save for tomorrow.
