My fiancé and I got engaged in Jan 2019 and after venue shopping and planning, we were referred to Yvette in May 2019. At the time, we decided to not do a pop up since we ended up deciding to do a wedding on a cruise in 2020. Well obviously that fell apart thanks to the pandemic! Yvette was there to save the day! We were hoping things would get better in 2020 but COVID cases kept rising so we said screw it, let's do the pop up wedding! And we are SO happy that we did! We didn't want to do a huge party and spend thousands on a wedding but we got the upscale wedding look for so much less. Yvette and her team were offering these COVID packages (see their Instagram to see if still on going) and we had an officiant, seating for 25, cake, photographer venue and decorations all for under $2000. My family was worried that since we were spending significantly less than the average wedding cost that it wouldn't be as nice. In fact, we were criticized prior to the wedding, but then the day of the wedding arrived and they were in awe. It was so romantic and beautiful. Yvette and her team added flowers, candles and just made the night so magical. The cake was delicious and over all the experience was dreamy and magical. Pop Up Weddings Houston also go beyond the pop up wedding bookings. Yvette does weddings of all sizes! They actually do wedding give aways on their instagram so check it out if you're recently engaged! They also work with vendors/partners who provide live streaming services, photo booths and more! Anyways, major thanks to Pop Up Wedding Houston! I am totally referring my engaged friends to them! Note: Once I receive my wedding photos I'll update my review to show you all how gorgeous the venue was!

She was SO organized, literally had a day of timeline down the the SECONDS (which if you are a type A bride like me - is a dream)!! She was also super calm and put together and did a great job of handling all the personalities (me, my mom, my MIL). The day of was so seamless, to the point where everyone was commenting how amazing Samantha was haha! The bridesmaids, my dad, my mom's friends, my in laws - literally everyone came to me at some point the day after the wedding and said they were impressed with how smoothly things all went and how Samantha was the best. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

She was such a joy to work with and made the planning process not just easy, but fun too! If you're on the fence about hiring a coordinator, I'd highly recommend going for it. It's honestly worth every single penny. Soiree Bliss helped make our big day perfect!

Update 10/14/24…read more Emily contacted the bride and asked us to remove our "untrue" reviews. So not only is she horrible, she's oblivious and entitled. I honor my badge as an elite yelper and high ranked Google reviewer and I RARELY leave 1-2 star reviews. If someone got a low rating, it was with reason! As the maid of honor for the bride, I had the chance to witness much of the planning and coordination with Emily, the wedding planner from Occasional Events. Unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired, and there were several regrets about hiring her. The bride's mother had fired their original planner to book Emily after attending another wedding she had coordinated, but it turned out to be a decision we wish hadn't been made. From the start, things felt disorganized, and the stress of the wedding day was amplified by Emily's lack of preparation. The wedding rehearsal was chaotic. It was a hot day at the end of summer, and Emily kept us all outside for much longer than necessary due to unclear directions, causing unnecessary mistakes and confusion. The bride's 85-year-old grandfather was visibly struggling with the heat, yet Emily seemed more focused on redoing the aisle walk than showing any consideration for him. When the bride decided she didn't want all 8 of her bridesmaids to stand up front during the ceremony, Emily was insistent that she would regret it, even arguing with us about it. She even suggested taking a vote on the matter, which left us all shocked--this was the bride's wedding, not a democracy! Additionally, she interrupted the bride during hair and makeup to ask who was folding napkins for dinner--a question that could have easily been asked of someone else. Only the aisle walk was rehearsed, and after the ceremony, no one knew where to go or what to do. The cocktail hour re-entry for the newlyweds was another disaster, with constant changes on where we should walk, adding more confusion. One glaring moment of disappointment was at the end of the night when the parting gifts were not ready for guests to take. Family members of the bride had to scramble to put them out, and many guests missed out on them entirely. The sparkler exit was also poorly handled--Emily didn't have the getaway car ready, and by the time it arrived, the sparklers were already burning out. To top it off, Emily and her assistant were seen eating before the bride's parents, which felt incredibly disrespectful. The biggest issue, however, was Emily's overall absence during the wedding. We rarely saw her, and she was not readily available to troubleshoot issues or guide the day smoothly. Her lack of presence and organization made the entire experience more stressful than it needed to be. In the end, we sincerely wish we had gone with a planner who was more organized and focused on making the day less chaotic, instead of adding to the stress. I wouldn't recommend Emily for anyone looking for a smooth and well-organized wedding day.

I contracted Emily after I saw her in action at a good friend's daughter's wedding in Conroe, TX…read more .She agreed to travel to San Antonio to do my daughter's wedding in September 2024. My major complaint- she over promises and under delivers, I was so disappointed! She started off great and once she was paid she did very little other than the timeline. If you consider using Emily and Occassionals, I suggest that you interview other wedding planner and coordinator companies. Construct a list of duties for Emily, add the duties (in detail) and your expectations to an additional contract for her to sign. Once Emily was paid in full, she wanted to charge for every additional duty, which I thought came natural to a wedding planner- coordinator. Thank goodness, my sister, my brother-in-law, and my best friend saved my daughter's wedding. We were also blessed to have great vendors (not affiliated with Emily or Occassionals). Emily refused to fold the napkins which arrived unfolded. When asked why, she said, "it was not in the contract." She also rushed off (at the venue rehearsal ) before all the wedding logistics were discussed. Looking back on my daughter's wedding, this was not money well spent...

She helped us plan a 3-day event, focusing on the wedding and reception itself. We married in June 2023 but started planning in early 2022, so we had chosen the wedding venue and reception location. You may say, well what did Stephanie do? The answer is a whole hell of a lot, including letting us keep our sanity. We were initially just going to use the TheKnot and plan the wedding ourselves. We were quickly disabused of this notion when we sent quote requests to the top 3 vendors for photography and flowers and were quickly overwhelmed with the questions. Once we selected Stephanie and explained our "vision", she selected the top 1-2 vendors in each category, told them our vision and we just met with them for our comfort. Further, even though we had decided to pick folks for hair and make-up, our choices fell through and Stephanie was able to find awesome options. Finally, Stephanie also understood the ins and outs of the special venue (the Butterfly Garden at the Houston Museum of Natural Science) and helped us navigate what we could and could not do. Additionally, the reception location was initially not going to provide a tasting due to our small party (~40 people), but Stephanie was able to wrangle one, which gave us a sense of comfort we otherwise would not have had. She also helped us with set-up and coordination for our welcome ("rehearsal") dinner, even though this was initially not in her remit. During the wedding, she kept us on track and focused. It exceeded our goals of being drama-and-stress free and everyone had a fantastic time! If you want to enjoy your wedding and have peace of mind, Stephanie is HIGHLY recommended!
