I knew once I talked with them on the phone that they would be great to get the party going which is exactly what I wanted and what I received. Dan did a great job. He was all set up with music for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. There were specific songs I wanted and did not want played, and he followed that even though I know one of my guests tried to request a song on the no-play list. There was a questionnaire that I was supposed to fill out and even though I didn't fill out half of it because I didn't know or didn't really care about certain things, I'm glad they asked all of those questions because I didn't think about the songs that would make my coworkers dance or the song that my parents danced to at their wedding that some people might overlook and really want played due to the sentimental value. He didn't come up to us very often except a to make sure he pronounced all of my wedding party's names and the right first dance song. The only thing he goofed on which is why I'm giving this a 4 star rating was because I asked for a particular song to be played for our ceremony exit (through email not questionnaire) and instead some other song was played that I had never heard of. At the time, I didn't care (how could I, I had just gotten married), but now I wish it had been the song I wanted. Overall, great job and super fun!!!

The day of the wedding was a little disappointing for me and my husband with the dj, we requested on the questionnary a few songs that were special for us and never happened also when I met Don I warned him that half bridal party had Hispanic names and I know it can get tricky if you don't speak Spanish, but Don was super aware and he told me he knew how to pronounce them so I didn't worry...but the day of the wedding all the names were just Pronunounced awfully wrong even the bride name was pronounced just wrong wrong wrong! Now I have a video of the wedding reception were you clearly you can see the dj just landed in the wedding and didn't even see the questionnary before it, otherwise would take the time to call us to take a note how to pronounce everybody's name if you don't know how to pronounce them... The music was okey,it wasn't bad but I was expecting a little more, we didn't complain at the time as we were trying just to ignore the bad and enjoy our special day. What is done is done but my recommendation would be for Don to follow closer the other djs that work with him to make sure they give a quality service, I am sure Don is a great dj and he really care about giving a good service as he was great working with is before the wedding day.

The original DJ for my brother & sister-in-law's wedding hadn't confirmed any event timing or details with the couple and was completely unresponsive the morning of the wedding. Not so great. As a bridesmaid & an event planner all I saw were red flags. I jumped in for the poor bride, so she could actually you know, prepare for her day. I found Chris via Yelp and placed a call. A super awkward one in which I had to share that, oh yeah, the date of the wedding was today. Miraculously Chris was free that evening, familiar with the venue and willing to jump in. About 90 minutes later he was loading in and setting up. I had literally texted him song titles for key parts while getting ready and he kept very incomplete and messy information organized and in the correct order for the ceremony. What's more, during the cocktail hour, he took the time to get the bridal party's names correct - down to the pronunciation - for the reception introductions. He also spent time getting to know the couple, and even worked with the bartender to be sure guests of honor were never without a beverage. Finally, his DJing during the reception was incredible! So much fun with the perfect mix of classics, new songs and special requests. At one point he even joined in on the dance floor to keep the party going. It was such a great mix of music and once the dancing got started it continued straight through to the end. I appreciated how attentive he was to details and how seamless it was to work with him in a time crunch. Even having just worked with him for one day, it was so clear he takes time to get to know his clients and how he can create a perfect event for them. He's very much the type of wedding vendor who will make the entire planning process smoother and more fun for couples. I cannot say enough good things about working with Chris and think he'd be the perfect addition to any wedding or event!

The cake we tediously selected, the key lime tart with chocolate crust, AND the after dinner champagne went untouched on the dinner tables 3. Definite play list, over my dead body playlist, stop the party for this song, etc. He also had us time out the reception to make sure we stayed on track, and worked with my wedding planner to put together the perfect agenda. Chris also took the time to put together a fantastic montage about our alma mater, Marshall University. We Are... Marshall!!! Hell yeah we numerous grads chanted that, and Chris made it happen. And when my sorority wanted to sing off pitch to Livin' On a Prayer and then stomp on the floor, he made sure that happened too. Chris has really comparable prices to other Chicago DJ's, but I don't think their skill set and enthusiasm can match his. Chris made our wedding a party to remember (and for some, one they want to forget, heh). Don't choose Memory Makers Entertainment!…read more We booked Memory Makers fifteen months prior to our wedding and thought we would be able to check one task off the list, but booking Memory Makers led to more headaches than any other aspect of our wedding. We had a minor issue with the check when we paid for the DJ immediately after booking. We began trying to connect with Dave Woll, Memory Maker's owner, in April of 2018 to verify everything had been straightened out with the check. We tried calling, emailing, and sending messages to Memory Maker's Facebook page, but didn't get a response until November of 2018 when we finally sent a message to Dave's personal Facebook account. Dave's four word response to our months-long attempts to get in touch with him left us with little assurance that we'd have a DJ the night of our wedding. Approximately three weeks before our wedding, we provided our DJ (Andres) with our song list and once again got silence in return. After reaching out to Andres and Dave several times, we had to resort to our wedding venue's event coordinator to help us get a response from Memory Makers. Dave emailed us THREE DAYS prior to our wedding that DJ Andres was no longer available. As you can imagine, we were left in a panic not only because of this new but our calls to Dave that night went unanswered. When we finally got a call back, Dave tried to "fix" the situation by having a DJ at our Saturday wedding (our wedding was actually on a Friday). After so many headaches, lack of communication, lack of professionalism we decided to go with another DJ company. Save yourself the stress of having to worry about whether you'll have a DJ on your important occasion. Do NOT book Memory Makers Entertainment for your Chicagoland event.
