It was a real disappointment using this company. Reviews are only for the owner DJ Josh and not for the people he outsources to. So buyer beware. Josh sent DJ Kat who was not experienced and was pausing between songs and breaking the rythm of the dances. Not only did it ruin our event but also the whole music and dance experience esp at a "dance party." Don't recommend this company. read more

6 STARS! From the moment my wife and I met Josh, we connected and he understood what type of vibe we were looking to create for our wedding. In my experience a DJ can either make or break an event. We were looking to create a soundtrack that mirrored our Indie Rock preferences, while at the same time, keeping the event lively. Josh knew just what to do -playing Indie at the right times and sprinkling in dance and hip hop at the right moments! DJ G has this uncanny ability to be able to feel the vibe of the room, read your mind, and translate that into music! I normally don't like to speak for my wife (happy wife/happy life type of thing), but I will here and say we loved DJ G and cant wait to hear him again soon for another event. read more

DJ G is the man. He dj'ed a recent party I attended and was easily one of the night's highlights. I was loosely involved in the event's logistics, so can also attest to how he is to work with. A few takeaways... 1. His tune selection pleased basically everyone without being generic or boring. He clearly has a good ear for danceable songs that get people amped, but isn't interested in only playing the hits - he mixed it up for our crowd, in all the good ways. 2. He has skills in mashups and transitions. Seriously... he impresses. 3. Unlike some big-name DJs, he doesn't make it about him - it's about the dancing and the good times. He's all smiles and good vibes and sets the mood for a good time, but isn't dominating or over-domineering. 4. He's open to requests in a genuine way. 5. He came fully-prepared, met all our various logistical needs with grace, and exceeded what he needed to do. Basically he was great. Three thumbs up. read more

I just had an amazing experience with DJG as he rocked the house during spin class at STROGA. I definitely had to a) grab his card after class and b) hop on yelp to sing his praises. The mixes were amazing...every upbeat, high energy song you want to hear during a challenging spin class mixed with solid reggae and slower hip hop beats for the cool down moments. It was so awesome and now I am scheming about parties I can throw so I can hire him to DJ! DJG is definitely someone who could easily get the party started at your birthday, wedding, bat mitzvah, party brunch. He was super nice when I went up to grab his card. If you're looking for a cool guy who spins amazing tunes --- definitely call DJG. read more

Fantastic selection, great personality, smart, funny, and in tune with the latest vibe - LOVE Josh and have officially made him our go to from now on! read more

Last month I danced the night away at Omnia, the hot new club in Vegas co-owned David Arquette. Some of the buzziest DJs in the world were spinning. It was a great night with great tunes. But after attending a party in Northern Virginia last week featuring DJ G, I'd suggest those "world class" Vegas DJs fly east to see how you truly MC. What happened in NOVA last week will stay in NOVA, but I'll say this - IT WAS NUTS! I've thrown a bunch parties over the years and often find myself in charge of the tunes. Here's the thing, though -- anyone can play dance songs. Good DJs know how to please a crowd and keep people moving. The best DJs, however, take it to another level. They make people do things on the dance floor you don't expect. They somehow get us to check our inhibitions at the door so we, paraphrasing that youngster out of Detroit, lose ourselves in the music. They make a night unforgettable. That's what happened last week thanks to DJ G. And that is what I expect will happen at the next party I throw in DC, because there's only one person I want on the turntables from now on...the best DJ, DJ G. read more

DJ G played all the perfect music for our event! He played such a good selection of music that kept the wide range of ages happy and dancing the entire night. This was the best music and most fun I have had at a USMC Birthday Ball. He was such a professional and played top 10 music and older dance music for us 'old' folks. Seriously I have never seen so many people dancing the whole night at one of these. We hope we can have him back every year! Thank you so much for such a fun and memorable night. read more

Booked DJ G (Josh Goldman) for our 1/17/15 wedding. He did a fantastic job by taking our song choices and styles and blending them with choices of his own to keep the floor PACKED. We were just a bit worried that not enough people would dance. Josh took care of that. He had us jumping and knew just when to ramp it up or slow it down by blending seamlessly between songs, tempos and the like. Several times during our honeymoon we discussed how great of a job Josh did. I recommend him without reservation. He was on time, set-up on a time crunch not of his making and dressed very professionally. We saw reviews of him on YELP and decided to book him. WE WERE NOT DISAPOINTED. You wont be either. read more

Mike and I HIGHLY recommend DJ G (Josh). Josh was super easy to work with ahead of the wedding when we were in planning mode + gathering our playlist. During our wedding, Josh made sure to play the songs on our "must play" list as well as mixing in songs that kept the flow and vibes just right! He had ALL of our family and friends up on the dance floor the ENTIRE night. It was such a blast and we relive that night constantly! The sound quality was great as well, and there weren't any technical difficulties that I've experienced at so many other weddings. Also, if you're having a special performance by a friend or family member using an instrument, Josh can seamlessly accommodate your setup and plug that instrument into his audio setup so that the music will play over the speakers. We felt comfortable in Josh's hands throughout the entire process and he did not disappoint at all! read more

Josh was fantastic! He truly went out of his way to make our wedding perfect. He put together a special mix for my father daughter dance and accommodated some last minute toasts/blessings. We had a great crowd and our guests never left the dance floor. Josh was also very responsive via email and was able to set up without much help on my part day of, which allowed me to get pictures done before. Thank you so much Josh! read more

I've had the distinct pleasure of bearing witness to DJG's party rocking skills on numerous occasions. Whether it's been a large scale event or intimate small gathering, DJG is on point! Interacting with the crowd, setting just the right vibe to make sure everybody is having a great time, and taking the party to the next level. I'd totally recommend booking this guy. read more

Great music selection, tremendous crowd-reading ability, high quality mixing and transitions, and wonderful energy. D.J.G just turned my wedding in Virginia into a South Beach album release party. I might marry another girl, just to have him D.J that wedding, too. Nothing but the highest of praises from all of our guests. (Unpaid plug) Go D.J !!!! read more

Upon recommendation from a friend, we met with Josh to DJ our wedding. He was so friendly and knowledgeable that we knew very quickly that he would be perfect to provide the party atmosphere we wanted. He delivered all that and more with the help of his wife Jaime. They were incredibly professional from start to finish. THey helped to keep the ceremony and reception on track and moving. He and Jaime worked well with our lively crowd and kept the dance floor packed all night. Not to be too cliche, it was the best night of our lives, and Josh and Jaime played a huge role in making that happen. DJ G Events is amazing! read more

Josh aka DJ G is an incredible DJ! We hired him for our wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. His selection of music is on point! I first discovered Josh at another wedding I was photographing for and immediately noticed his professionalism and his ability to work the crowd. Josh's song choices kept the crowd dancing and was appropriate for all ages. He has an incredible ear for songs and an amazing ability to control the flow throughout the night. Josh easily got my wedding attendees to dance for hours with a mix of old and new school songs. Only disappointment was when the night had to end. I HIGHLY recommend DJ G for any occasion and can not praise him enough for his talented DJ'ing. Thank you Josh for making our wedding day so fun and unforgettable! read more

We needed a DJ for a VIP event my company was hosting and with the little information I gave him.. he was able to totally capture exactly the mood we were looking to have!! There was a great mix of music and he was super interactive with the guests. The entire time he was spinning there was non-stop high energy and everyone was dancing and having a great time. We've worked with DJs in the past but none as great, prompt and easy to work with as DJG. We will surely be using him at our next and future events! Truly a great DJ that will not disappoint, I HIGHLY recommend! read more

He was SO good. No issues at all, professional, and great music. We used him for our holiday party for our company and plan to use him again. read more

DJ G is a friend of a friend and was a perfect fit our wedding. The dance floor at our wedding was packed the entire time. Josh kept everything flowing just right. He was easy to work with both in the lead up to the wedding and on the day of the wedding, including accommodating a somewhat unusual floor plan (a tent next to a pavilion with outlets only in one corner). His announcements throughout the wedding were all very professional with correct pronunciations of some uncommon names. We've heard nothing but rave reviews from our guests! read more

DJ G (Josh) rocked our wedding! From my first phone conversation with Josh, I knew that I wanted him to DJ our event. He was prompt to respond to my first inquiry and was available throughout the planning process to answer any questions. As we got closer to our date, he was right on top of getting in touch and discussing the plan for the evening. He was able to set up a perfect timeline and clearly knows how to plan a wedding reception. We hired DJ G to perform for both the ceremony and reception and he was great. He worked with our day-of coordinator and made sure everything ran smoothly. He also was in charge of the sound (microphone) for our officiant and toasts etc. DJ G has a HUGE selection of music and we were able to tailor our reception to exactly what we wanted. BUT, he is also a true professional, so we were just able to give him our "must haves" and our "absolutely nots," and he went from there. He kept the music flowing and kept people dancing without overtaking the party with lots of talking. He was able to gauge the crowd and selected songs from many genres and generations so that our guests of ALL ages had a blast. I would definitely recommend DJ G for any event where awesome music is a must. Thank you!!! read more

Josh is awesome. He DJ'd our reception for us and I cant thank him enough. Everyone had an incredible time and were dancing non-stop the entire night. Would definitely hire him again for other events! Thank you Josh! read more

We work with DJ G for our wedding and it was a sheer delight, from the initial meeting to the last dance. Josh was able to instantly make us feel comfortable that we would deliver a create sound experience for our guests; and he did not disappoint. Unlike other DJ's we spoke to, he was very receptive to seeing him in action. His payment terms were reasonable. I was very impressed that helped us develop a detailed time line that kept the event flowing and provided the backbone to keep the other vendors (and us) on time and organized on the day of our wedding. He was so open to some of the quirky music requests (versions of Broadway show tunes that only a gay man with an MFA could dream up). Between DJ G and Jaime, the dance floor was packed. Just what I had dreamed! After all, what differentiates a mere party from a milestone event is great music and dancing. During the dinner, the music was audible but not disruptive to conversation. Jaime was able to handle a difficult situation with a guest with diplomacy that rivals Madeline Albright. (We had a guest's skit that went on a little, ok more than a little too long!) I would recommend DJ G highly -- you and your guests will be so delighted and will have an amazing fun time. We certainly did. read more

I was recently at a wedding in DC where DJG played. I don't normally do reviews, but we had such an AWESOME time that I felt compelled. DJ had a great sense of what songs to play throughout each stage of the night, and kept the party going. He also was openly accepting of our Whitney Houston song requests. I highly recommend him for your future events in the DC area! read more

I attended an event (a large party in New York City's East Village) in which DJ G was spinning. It was a mad house. G killed it. He spun a pretty sweet mix of hip hop and dance, and although that night remains hazy in my mind, it was one of the best parties of the year. I would definitely recommend DJ G for anyone having an event. read more

Josh is absolutely AMAZING! We hired him for the 19th Annual Ovarian Cancer National Conference to play our Teal Party-a party for ovarian cancer survivors and their families. A party, where they can leave their cancer behind for a night and just have fun. He did exactly that-he knew how to get everyone dancing and how to keep the dance floor going. Our ladies gave him so much praise for giving them such a wonderful evening. We'd have Josh back in a heartbeat! read more

Josh DJ'd a work party for 170 staff in Virginia and he was terrific! We couldn't stop dancing! He mixes perfectly - know somehow how to change up the beat and song at just the right time. Everyone loved him! read more

DJ G DJ'd a dance party for my organization. He was absolutely amazing. There was a mix of twenty somethings to 60 somethings and he played the perfect mix. We dance all night. read more

After watching DJ G work a wedding in North Carolina a year ago, we booked him for our April wedding and could not have been happier or made a better choice. From the start of the planning process, DJ G was really easy to work with and listened to what it was that we wanted. He helped us put together our timeline and outside of the songs we knew we wanted for the various events (introduction, cake cutting, etc), we explained the "vibe" we wanted and he put together a fantastic playlist for our pre-ceremony music (blue-grass/jazz), cocktail hour, and reception (eclectic dance mix). Given how busy we were, it was nice to be hands-off in that regard and know we were in capable hands. DJ G was also a pro on the mic - building up excitement when needed for introductions, but not obtrusive at all like some wedding DJs can be. We had such a good time dancing at our reception that when our photographer asked if we wanted to do a second round of photos, we happily said no because we were too busy on the dance floor. Numerous guests all commented to us how good the DJ was, and were happy that he incorporated their requests (and how nice his assistant was). All said, DJ G was great and super competitive price-wise for the DC area. I'd definitely recommend him to any of my friends who asked about wedding DJs. read more
