While checking out, I was on a phone call and told the person I was on the phone with to "hold on while I check out" I was advised "I would be helped when I finished my call" to which I responded "can you not check folks out while they're on the phone?" Genuinely asking as I've never encountered this. The female manager working looks at me and in a snarky, condescending tone responds, "no it's rude". I have no issues abiding by rules, but, you're a manager and in customer service not to mention you're taking MY MONEY - I expect a professional response not an attitude. My advice is they should worry less about people being on the phone while checking out and focus on hiring better "management" plus the gross dust and disgusting mold in beer coolers. I will never step foot in this "establishment" again and will be spreading the word how terrible the customer service is. read more

We live over 40 miles from the store. I went to purchase a special German wine for the holidays. They did not have the wine in stock, but they offered to try to get it. I was called daily, letting me know they were working on it. I finally got the call that the wine was at the store. To me, this is truly outstanding customer service. I was thinking 4 stars BUT last time I walked in I saw a bottle of wine that I've been looking for and had not yet found in Georgia. + the staff is friendly, fun, helpful and knowledgeable. There's plenty of parking. They are on the north side of 92 a bit east of 575. It doesn't look like your typical liquor store. It's a large brick building. It kind of looks to me like it may have been a church or something years ago. They have a good selection of everything (beer, wine, liquor & mixers). read more

Never knew these people were here...I came here to grab something to take to a 4th of July cookout. There folks here are super nice. I'm not a drinker so I didn't browse too much but the place is huge. Lots of varieties for all of your drinking needs. Any place that has the words "beverage" and "outlet" in the same title is a winner in my book. Dixie Beverage has a vast selection of liquor, wine, beer and tobacco products to choose from. The building is bigger than most normal neighborhood liquor stores. The size definitely appeals more to me because it eliminates that claustrophobic feeling that I sometimes get in small cramped liquor stores, and it also gives the owners more room to stock the latest seasonal beer selections from my favorite brewers. This is one of my two favorite beverage places in the area. If I am over on 92 I always stop in to check out the wine section. Don't let the "outlet" in the name scare you. They have a very large selection of wine, beer and liquor. There is one employee there that I absolutely LOVE! She's the one with the funky hair :) She always chats with customers and makes people smile! I can't say that this is the cheapest beverage place in Woodstock, although some of their liquor is a bit less than their competitor. They have a section in the front with higher end wines. They also have a large cooler for beer and white wine. Another cool thing is they have Cigars. Good, not great... For example, I'm a Manhattan fanatic, so I judge a liquor store by their rye whiskey and sweet vermouth selection. My favorite sweet vermouth, by far, is Vya. Although I can get it at other stores in Atlanta, it's not to be found at Dixie Beverage Outlet. Their high-end wine selection was missing some of my standby selections: Quintessa, Cain Five, Darioush, and Ridge Monte Bello. Although I'll use this place when I need a local place for routine liquor staples, I'll continue to drive towards the city for a better selection. read more

This place has a great selection of wine, probably the best in Woodstock, but not much else. I was amazed that other reviewers say they have a good beer selection. Compared to Kroger, maybe, but Lucky's and Bullock's both have a far far greater selection of beer. I noticed also that all the liquor prices were about 10% higher than other stores in the area. Yet again, I would have to recommend going to either Lucky's or Bullock's for liquor. I would absolutely go here for purchasing wine, but would definitely go elsewhere to get beer and liquor. read more

Dixie Beverage is not your average liquor store. It's much bigger than a typical liquor store and has a far better selection (at least of craft beers which is why I was there). It's not Total Wine or anything which seems to have everything, but it has a much broader selection than most liquor stores its size. The store is clean and organized with lots of bar accessories available to boot. read more

The wine selection is quite varied but the beer selection, while seemingly large, is mostly comprised of mass produced domestic brews which are readily available at any vendor. I wish Dixie was a better store, as it would be convenient for me to shop there, but my experiences at their store have been negative. For starters, I've noticed their prices tend to be higher than Sherlocks and Bullochs. I once caught them overcharging me a dollar and they explained that it was because of a price increase. Fine...except the shelf sticker showed the old price. They gave me a dollar back but it was done grudgingly and they didn't apologize. Yesterday I called to see if they had my favorite bourbon in stock (it's often OOS there) and they said yes, but when I asked the price they refused to quote it. That did it...I immediately went to Bullochs and got it at the usual fair price. I'm finished with Dixie! read more
