Well, last time was during Covid when stocks were bare, and Bray & Scarf just happened to have in stock what we needed. We should have researched this time. High prices, a checkout process reminiscent of the last century and a post sales support process that makes me say I am never buying from them again. Our new fridge makes an annoying high-pitch warbling cricket sound all morning; they sent a tech out and he claimed he couldn't hear it. That was it from Bray; from here we've been told we have to deal with Thermador directly. So why use a middleman? Just go to a big box store where you know there won't be any support, and that's factored into the price.

The manual stated that the dryer pipe shouldn't snake and bend. Bray and Scarff spoke with me on the phone and insisted it was installed correctly and then stopped answering my emails. Two years later, my speed queen now takes multiple cycles for a single load to dry. I reached out to Speed Queen about this because it's still covered under warranty. They sent an email stating that the way Bray and Scarff installed it was incorrect!! I felt gaslit years ago and just gave up. Now I have a top of the line machine that operates like a dying dryer that is a fraction of the price!!

This review is long overdue. I hired City Painters for two large jobs in the last year; first they…read morepainted my entire house, second they remodeled the floors in my basement (that job also involved some drywall work). Both jobs are stunning and worth every penny! Selvin is straight-forward and honest with his pricing and walks you through the entire job. When I asked if they were able to do something his response was "you're the boss!" Selvin's team is prompt and hard-working, showing up on time every day ready to work. I had to reschedule my flooring job with short notice for a trip out of state and they were able to squeeze me in a week earlier than originally scheduled. It was a tight schedule, only four days for the whole basement, but they were able to get the job done early! I couldn't recommend City Painters more for all of your remodeling needs! (Pictures include before and after)

I cannot say enough good things about City Painters. They were a dream contractor. We hired them to…read moreremodel our basement, and we couldn't be happier with both the process and the end product. Selvin, our client rep, was responsive, competitively priced, and transparent. We even added in a few requests during the project. Selvin was quick to provide us with an updated and fair quote for the additional work. Jovani, our project manager, was amazing. He checked in with us every morning AND evening to explain what work was going to be done and ask any outstanding questions. He was knowledgeable in helping us make decisions and select products. The team was equally awesome. They worked so hard to get the project done on schedule, even after adding some additional items. They were very skilled but also very professional. I loved how each day they cleaned up--throwing away the trash, organizing the tools, moving items off to the side. This level of effort showed that they not only respected their work, but they respected our home. It can be hard to find a good contractor. I am so grateful that we found Selvin, Jovani, and the City Painters team. I will take them with me wherever we go and hire them for whatever project we decide to tackle next. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

All showcase quality IMO. Thus, we've plenty of recent experience with KBS outfit and feel confident in making the highest recommendation. In summary - KBS is not too big nor too small, not too expensive but not cheap, so they were just right for us - average homeowners who seek the very best value. In this regard, KBS was just right. Some highlights........ 1) The crew is experienced and cohesive. They've been together for a good long time. They work well together and we never observed inefficiency. They just work hard all day long. 2) I never had to worry about workers in our home. Honest, polite, professional, kind, and responsive are words I'd use to describe them. 3) Communications were timely and valuable. My advice is to take notes of every communication for reference. In one case we forgot it was our responsibility to acquire an appliance. Uh oh, it was our fault and a written record would have been useful to refer to. Yikes! 4) The budget estimates were honored. there was no bait and switch. Prices were transparent to us. 5) We enjoyed reviewing recommended selections of cabinets, floor, hardware, appliances, sinks etc. Today, we feel somewhat knowledgeable with KBS as our tutors. 6) Cleanup and construction debris was timely. Thanks! 7) The crew was OK with our two dogs. I think our doggies missed them when the jobs were done. Final note: The sign of a great contractor is NOT that nothing goes wrong. Rather it is how the contractor responds when something does go wrong. In this regard, KBS took care of problems I was not even aware of, and when I was, they swarmed to make it right ASAP. For example, a quartz kitchen countertop cracked. Surprised. The piece was faulty. The crack was not due to poor installation. We only had to make one call to Dan who took care of it. Easy peasy. No hassles or haggles about responsibility or cost. Perfect. I've a few more impressive examples. So the more work we observed, the more confident we became in KBS. In my life "trust" is earned and hard to achieve in the contracting world. So, it is with pleasure to say KBS was trusted. We'd hire them again whenever we have a future need. Simply excellent!

Once they start the team is dedicated to your project. They finished it well within the time projected. Buddy, who did most of the work on our bathroom, is a rock star. He is skilled, knowledgeable, and was very careful with the work and our home. The rest of the team was likewise terrific and worked together like a well-oiled machine. There were just a few little things that needed tweaking and they came back and took care of theme. The price was more than fair, and better than other bids I received. I was referred to this place by the son of a friend who had assistance from Daniel when he did a complete kitchen remodel. Unfortunately Daniel ran away from me as I entered the showroom (I knew who he was based on his photo on their website.) I wanted a place that wasn't as precious as some of the Bethesda showrooms are, but this place isn't it. Just go online instead of bothering to drive out to Rockville. An explanation of why I was ignored for so long was not provided , but certainly heard enough of bragging about how those million dollar homeowners love them. One can only wonder what's the hidden message there. Below is my whole project experience. I hired this company because it was recommended to me by someone who had good experience with them. However I was extremely disappointed on the irresponsible actions from the contract workers after the remaining of the work trailed for more than a year. To be fair, the initial part of experience was what you can expect with any standard professional company, the crew was polite and clean after themselves. After sometime, things began to get worse. The corner counter top was cut completely off center, after repeatedly contact and request for correction, a correction was promised , however nothing happened after almost a year after numerous back and force via email, phone calls, etc . Instead of take initiative and fixing the issue, I was given a phone number, and was told to call the counter top company MYSELF and make appointments MYSELF. After many calls with a lady who clearly has communication issues and barely understand what I was saying, a guy from the counter top company came alone , with a pencil and piece of paper board. He had no idea what was the job is for, and cut the board in wrong angle again. I caught the mistake before he left my home and basically hand held him to draw correct lines on the board. I did his work, and he left, and was never heard again. Of course, after this November 2017 incidence, everything fell completely silent again. I was never contacted to have a follow up again, or even a check in "hey, have you got your new counter top yet ? " or " I have things ready for installation ". NOTHING. From November 2017 to JUNE 2018. Ironically, all the way till I left my initial YELP review. During the summer project period, the contract worker left without making the microwave function , one light switch was installed upside down, one was not installed, thought still got charged . It was stated in the contract that the paint was a certain model, however, worker showed up with a much lower grade and claimed it was the right one. Also the contractor left was two jars of the paint which should belong to me. And painted one wall with the wrong color. AFTER ONE YEAR OF THE PROJECT I'M STILL EXPECTING WORK TO BE COMPLETED --- Update - I have to pay another company to come in , and fix all the mistakes. Also the workers parked in the wrong spot while clearly been told not to. and caused $400 towing fee and still have not paid back to me.

He greeted us when we arrived and was incredibly patient, kind, and knowledgeable. He took the time to help us configure the furniture in different layouts so my in-laws could better visualize how it would look in their home. He never rushed us and made the shopping experience enjoyable. His customer service was truly 10/10. Unfortunately, another employee, an older woman with short red hair, left us with a very negative impression. She made inappropriate jokes in front of my in-laws, and she falsely accused my children of damaging furniture when nothing had been broken. My children were simply trying out the furniture, just as many customers do, and they were under my supervision the entire time. Her comments were unnecessary, unprofessional, and made our family feel uncomfortable. It's one thing to politely remind customers of store policies, but it's another to make false accusations and embarrass families in front of others. While James provided exceptional service, this employee's behavior was disappointing and detracted from what otherwise could have been a great shopping experience.
