He tentatively agreed to try drums, and now he absolutely LOVES it. He literally runs from the bus to his lesson each week. Chris has not only taught him the fundamentals but has also encouraged him to bring his favorite music into their sessions. Chris is caring, patient, and a musical force himself. But assistant made discouraging remarks about my child's NYSSMA score (25 out of 28 first time), and said they would not be the right fit for us due to scores and inability to play piano more than 3 hours per week due to other extra curriculars. If you are very serious about lessons and this is the only activity, perhaps they are wonderful. But very unfortunate to be discouraging young players without even meeting them. Pricing is $249/month for small group classes that are taught as individuals - kids have headphones on and capped to 5 students and teacher goes between students over the hour.

After speaking to both Suzanne and Michael, I selected a fantastic upright for my living room, which I feel that I got at a good price. I felt as though Michael and Suzanne were there to answer any questions I had, with Suzanne even providing me her number, and was excited to make a purchase. Suzanne even helped out a ton with the financing, which I appreciated. Less than a week later, Michael tuned my selected piano and delivered it to my house at no charge. It worked out--I now play a 6'7 refurbished grand built in the 1880s. You never know. Even if I someone my age couldn't afford a nice grand now--you never know. Maybe you'd leave a lasting memory and they'd come back.
