My daughter had had piano lessons before, but never seemed to take to it. But when she started learning from Mary Alice, there was a dramatic change, not only in my daughter's ability to play the piano, but in her sudden love of learning music. Mary Alice teaches the theory behind music while also teaching children how to play technically. She also teaches voice, which is what I love the most. She brought out this big, powerful voice i never knew my little girl had. When i now see my 9 year old daughter singing and playing the piano, it fills me with awe and pride. Mary Alice is a true talent.

Signed them up for an 8 week session (classes started Sept 5) person in charge told me they can start on the 12 bc they asked when they can start. 8 weeks from Sept 12 is up to October 31st. My girls missed 2 classes bc they were sick and not once did they say there were make up sessions available. Lady then texts me if the girls are attending on the 31st of October. Being that it's Halloween I said no. She offered a makeup session and I accepted for Nov. 2nd. She then sends me an invoice for the next session which I didn't sign up for. She explained 'if I wanted to sign up that would be the price' Today I get a message stating that if I don't wish to continue, the girls don't need to come in on the 2nd bc the new session starts on the 31st. The communication is terrible and the art done is something I could do at home. My review is solely based on my personal experience. Other can differ.

I would not recommend this daycare based on my experience with the center director, Nancy…read more My children were about to start at this center, and from the very beginning, Nancy was incredibly cold, hostile, and unnecessarily rude to me. What bothered me most was how little warmth she showed toward my children. She barely acknowledged them and acted as though we were an inconvenience rather than a family considering enrolling our kids. Originally, Nancy told me she could take my son immediately. Based on that information, I cancelled our other daycare arrangement that same day. She then told me that she could no longer take him right away. I completely understand that circumstances can change; what I don't understand is the complete lack of apology or accountability. When I expressed that I was frustrated (which I think is completely reasonable given that I had cancelled our other childcare based on what I had been told), she somehow turned it around on me and continued treating me with hostility. I actually apologized for getting frustrated because I wanted to move past it and have a good relationship with the person who would be responsible for my children. Instead of accepting the apology and moving forward, Nancy continued to be cold and condescending. Then she left me an URGENT voicemail telling me to return my son's paperwork ASAP because he was supposed to start the following week. She specifically told me to come "Friday after 10am. The sooner the better. I need those documents for him to start." So I did exactly what I was told. I went Friday around noon and called ahead, only to be told Nancy wasn't there and apparently nobody else in the ENTIRE building could accept paperwork. Not an assistant director. Not a staff member. Not even a teacher who could simply take the documents and give them to her. I was told she had left early to go home. Again, things happen. People leave early. Plans change. But a normal, professional response would have been, "I'm so sorry, I told you to come in and then I left without communicating that to you." Instead, the next day Nancy looked at me, grimaced, and said in an incredibly sassy tone, "I heard you were very mad." I wasn't yelling at anyone. I wasn't disrespectful. I simply said, "Oh, I was told to come." Apparently, even expecting someone to take responsibility for the instructions THEY gave you is too much to ask. The entire experience left me feeling like Nancy was doing me some enormous favor by allowing my children to attend her daycare. I have never dealt with a childcare director who made a parent feel so unwelcome. We loved our previous daycare before moving. Anytime I had an issue or frustration, the director listened, tried to troubleshoot, and genuinely cared about making things right. That is what I expect from someone in charge of a childcare center. I would not feel comfortable leaving my children in the care of someone who treated their mother this way, and I ultimately decided that this was not a place I wanted my children attending. Nancy, you weren't doing me a favor. You were running a business. and you lost a family that was prepared to spend roughly $40,000 a year with your center. There are plenty of childcare options. I would choose one where the director actually seems happy to have my children there.
