My favorite laundromat. While the prices are a little higher than some other places in town, you get what you pay for. Dix Ave is always clean and well-ventilated, there is always an attendant on duty and they've always been helpful if I had a problem. This laundromat is always clean and obviously well taken care of. Every time I'm here the attendant/owner is walking around to clean up various spills, checking on and drying the washer rims and looking around at how everything is doing. If you are looking for a place to do all of your laundry, or those large comforters this is the best place in the area that I've found! It's also reasonable in cost. read more

When I returned today I was dismayed to see how many dryers were not working and the wait was long. People also left so their done clothes sat in washers and dryers others could have used. The staff was too busy criticizing Biden and praising Trump to notice. They clearly don't understand the supply and demand metrics for oil and gas prices. Kept saying that "they think we're dumb". Unfortunately I will be bringing my business elsewhere due to the building not having AC??!?! It was extremely hot in there, granted it was a busy afternoon and several machines were running. I had to wait in my car with my AC on because I simply couldn't stand being inside. read more

This place is very clean and we'll maintained. We are full time RVers and use laundromat all over the country. so we have a lot to compare them to. Dix Ave was a nice change. You can use your credit card, there are TVs and an exercise room. Plenty of tables to fold on. I would have given it 5 stars, but the employee was not very friendly and stood at the counter staring at people. I would go back to this laundromat. read more

Unfortunately my dryer broke at home and I needed some place to dry all of my laundry. Went here mid morning on one of the mist humid days and there was absabsolutely no air conditioning. I walked right now and will never return. Poor business to make an employee work in. read more

If you go there on your own, the laundromat is clean, has a rest room & snacks and TV's available. But the TV's aren't placed where you can sit and watch them, which is kind of weird? The staff is friendly, and you can use a debit or credit card on the machines if you don't want the bother of getting change, which is nice. They do have an exercise room, as well, which is very different. It's also on the GGFT bus route, but you'd have to call the bus company for scheduling as it's somewhat erratic. The only drawback is that currently I'm semi-bed ridden and when I called about having them pick up and deliver for wash-dry-fold service, the woman on the phone was totally clueless about prices. Which is not good.Why would an owner put someone on the phone who can't answer an important and vital question like, "how much?" Why the owner doesn't think it vital to make sure his employees who answer phones know the answers to customer questions is very short-sighted. So now I can't tell you how much their wash-dry-fold service is, or if they charge for delivery, and if when they say they bring your stuff back on Tuesday, if they mean the next day or the next week. All because the person answering the businesses main phone number is totally clueless. Which is why i gave this place 3 stars instead of 4 or 5. read more

I'm disabled and lived in NYC for 30 years and loved drop-off service. In Brooklyn they pick-up and deliver. I moved to Queensbury and was happy I found Dix. I usually choose local owned businesses and a warm welcome but they're the only drop off around, they do a good job, nothing like NYC Chinese laundry with perfect folding and fresh-pressed shirts though. I'd kill to find a service that doesn't fold a t-shirt inside out so you can't see if it's long sleeve or short. The best part is... $1 a pound. I have gone here for 5 years, but the last year it is going down hill. The "wireless" for credit cards has been down since June - they said 2 weeks - and still nothing and the staff is nasty about it (and as many note here, generally gruff). Wireless for credit card usage not being fixed, machines not being repaired - may'be something is up financially and they are hoarding quarters/cash and not saying what is really going on? The staff gruffness never bothered me I just did my laundry because the front loaders were good and new and cleaned clothes well without damaging them, credit cards made it easy without rolls of quarters, and the place was clean. The dryers are old big metal tumblers with swiss cheese corrugation holes and very rough on clothes but I have a dryer so didn't care. The top loader washing machines are old and struggle but front loaders good. More and more are out of service, and now no credit card support. Not sure what is happening so I have stopped going. read more

Very clean and convenient. But, most unfriendly workers. I have been going there for months and have never seen such unfriendly workers. No repsonse when you greet them. They look like they are miserable and that makes it very uncomfortable to approach them when and if you have a problem. Maybe it's me. I wouldn't usually write a review about a laundromat, but here goes. I usually have a decent experience here; their facilities are clean and more pleasant than any other laundromat I've been to. The older man who works there is very nice, helpful and polite; he always opens the door for me if he sees me coming in or leaving with a huge load of laundry. But the other guy - middle aged, dark curly hair - was a jerk to me the last time I went. I stayed for my wash, and left after I threw them in the dryer. The dryer was timed for 36 minutes and I came back approximately 45-60 minutes later. He was standing outside and when I got out of the car, he said "You're lucky, I almost started bagging your stuff." I said "Why, is there a problem?" and he replied, "I start bagging stuff if people leave it here forever." To which I replied, "Are you closing early?" He said no, and I said "Well my laundry got finished about 10 or 20 minutes ago, there are no other customers here, and you're open for another hour, so I don't understand your rush." I got my crap together and got out of there as quickly as I could, very put off by his utter nerve. Eff that guy, seriously. read more
