HIGHLY Recommend Kimberly Marrujo Legal Asst as DPS's services. Long before I became an elite yelper, I found Kimberly and DPS. Right out of undergrad at UCLA, I got married long before I became a psychotherapist, and way too young to know myself, my (now) ex, and how bad of a fit and how miserable we both were with each other (despite being lovely people for the right person). Back then in 2007, after a lot of marraige therapy ourselves, we separated. As we adjusted like normal healthy human beings and continued to believe we were good people but bad fits for each other, we decided divorce was the best option. But, we wanted to be mature, loving, and friendly. Divorce is painful enough without arguing about a fucking dish or who gets the shitty TV that will be outdated in 5 minutes. But, we were both pretty broke thanks to being new in our careers and piled high in student loan debt. So, we looked for an amicable way to divorce that would not both cut us down to the knees. In fact, I agreed to pay the fees for DPS on my own to help support my ex who agreed to relocate with family and while I moved in a roommate to share in SKY HIGH housing costs (yes, even back then in 2008 -- it was a recession after all!) til we both got on our feet. Kimberly was amazing. No drama. Simple, to the point, helpful, kind, and gave general paralegal guidance while we sorted through all of the accounts, retirement, debt, and stuff. DPS could not have made this simpler for us. I truly believe that the reason my ex and I could focus on getting help for the emotional pain of separating from each other as best friends was due to the fact that we found DPS and did not get into expensive legal squables. DPS made this possible and saved us decades of more debt that divorce lawyers can cost for even the simpliest, most amicable of divorces. We were able to rebuild from there. Today, I would like to believe we are both better off, happier, and healthier than we could have ever been if we had turned to combative attorney/legal (not justice) system professionals. Today, I looked up DPS for a friend in need. I was so glad to see DPS is still around to help so many people through this painful process without breaking their banks.
