It's taken me a few years to write this because I've been embarrassed to share what happened to me by this "law" firm. I was victimized by this woman (Arelis) in the worst way possible. She drained me of money I didn't have and sabotaged my divorce using covert means that would be very difficult to explain or prove. If I could prove what she did I would file a complaint against the bar (and still might do so). The experience working with her was so awful I just wanted to forget it all but my conscience compelled me to write this as a warning to any future victim of this firm. I'm ashamed of what happened to me. I know now why rape victims don't report the crime, they're humiliated and ashamed and just want it to go away. I came to this firm as a disabled veteran, a wounded warrior being taken to the cleaners in a divorce in which I needed help. Real help. They never actually did much of anything other than request retainer replenishments. She could have negotiated this settlement yet at every turn sabotaged it. Granted, it wasn't hard to do with my ex but she played right into it. Acting as if there was nothing she could do. But she knew exactly what she was doing. Taking advantage of a wounded warrior and bleeding him dry. I don't even want to know how much money she took me for but it was past 30k before I pulled the plug and negotiated my own settlement. I think twice I payed a "trial retainer" of 10k or so (could be less I don't remember, and the trial was cancelled both times. Money gone. Had another lawyer look into my case and he told me that there were red flags everywhere and to get out from underneath her before I went bankrupt. I wish I could fully explain what all she did but it was a whirlwind at the time. I just wanted help and trusted her to not take advantage of me. And that's exactly what she did. Tami is culpable because she knows what Arelis is. Even when leaving them I had to negotiate down a 15k dollar retainer amount they said I owed which was crap. I got it down to 4K or so but I shouldn't have had to pay anything to them. They should be in jail. Again, I am ashamed and embarrassed that I gave her so much money and didn't get out of it as soon as I felt something was wrong. She took advantage of me and unless you want the same thing to happen to you, don't hire them. I had actually read a review similar to mine here (which was taken down somehow) prior to hiring them. She had some clever response to it and I figured you can't please them all. The other reviews were good so I brushed it off. DON'T do that to my review. Steer clear of this firm, especially if you are a male. I got the intense feeling she enjoyed hurting me the way she did. At some point, I will likely still reach out and file a complaint against this firm because I KNOW what they did was wrong. In my gut I know it. The money I spent didn't add up to the work they did. Not even close. Never even got to a trial and I spent like 40k. Unbelievable. It was all communal property too. It was like she wanted to continue to drag it on and on and on so she could bleed me out. Don't use this law office unless you want the same to happen to you. read more

I requested a consultation with Attorney Hughs for today at 4:00pm. I been very busy at work and I completely forgot. I received a call from who I believe may be a paralegal or receptionist. I called back and I was able to speak to Ms. Hughes. She is the first attorney I have ever spoken to that gave me a through and honest answer. Many lawyers request an hourly rate ($350 to $500) just to sit down for them to see papers to give you the same answer. I am thankful because I have already spent a lot of money on two attorneys. I think I would have come across her I would have hire her. I will contact her for any legal reasons in the future just based on my conversation with her today.
