There is a strong anti-bullying policy which is necessary in all schools. If you put enough children of the same age in the same room there are always issues no matter what school they attend. What matters is how the issues are handled on an administrative level. In my experience, I have no complaints about the administrative department and its workers including the principal. My child loves her school and could not see herself going anywhere else but Holy Child Jesus Catholic Academy through graduation.

If you are thinking of enrolling your child in this school just run the other way. This school,…read morediscriminates against any child with ADHD, learning disabilities, or any other condition that requires extra help in the classroom. They do not want these types of students and will treat your child unfairly as a way to push you out. The bullying is ridiculous and some of the teachers are just as bad as the children when it comes to bullying students. Some teachers just yell all day, others inappropriately yap about their personal love lives to the students when they should be teaching class. However, this school, and more specifically the principal, also has a serious problem with favoritism and if you are not someone who has multiple generations of family who attended this school, has plenty of free time to volunteer, or a ton of money to donate then good luck to you. Your concerns will not be taken seriously. I had such a bad experience with this school that I have been turned off from Catholic education all together. I thought the smaller school setting would be better for my child, however the small setting was just a catalyst for cliques to develop and a "no new kids wanted" mentality.

Hanging shirt designs with dogs dedicating blood dripping from his ear and middle figures raised high in the air. I do not care about political views but at a Children's church fair I think it was very unbecoming of st.helens. I personally will no longer be participating in events hosted there due to low values and moral standards.

The tutor who supplies extra help and support to the students who need it is the best I have ever had the privilege of my child working with! And I use her in the summer for extra tutoring. My child is an honer student and I owe it all to her attending St. Helen's! The faculty do a great job teaching these children and many make the honer roll or principals list. The teachers don't make enough money for the great job they do!! The school is very clean and there are no foreseen problems with Bullies. If there is a problem with students it is addressed right away. I wish I had put my children here when they first started school in kindergarten l think it would have avoided much heartache my family went through because we chose the other Catholic school in Howard Beach first. I attend there church across the street and I really feel we are a family in St. Helens. All children are never neglected of extra help they need. The only thing I do care for is there are Non Catholics that go to school here and I do not understand that concept. And I don't think it should be allowed. I wish St. Helens went to 12th grade! My children would happily be attending.

The school has changed and the laws are becoming more strict on dress code and behavior. The faculty is good they get better students each year who care about their education and their future attending the school and because of that it's making the school better all around. John Adams public school has so much to offer children and so much opportunity to offer children that if you live in the neighborhood and you're serious about a great education for free I recommend John Adams YABC Program as well. You can go to school at night and still get a diploma. John Adams is slowly getting rid of all the bad apples that attended that school and they're filling it up with children who want to learn and get a great education. I think the faculty really cares about its students and they want to see the children get ahead. The school is Enormous. the graduation rate is not where it should be but I think within 10 years this is going to be another fantastic school once again.
