Davon is just the BEST person you could ever have as your Doula! My husband and I are extremely happy for choosing her and will definitely recommend her services for everyone we know. Since our first interview, we felt a deeply connection with her and we chose her because of her KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, NATURAL APPROACH to pregnancy and childbirth and, most importantly, because we just felt that she understood us and would support us in the way we needed. This is my second baby and I've had a very traumatic experience with my first kid birth, so I wanted to have someone by my side who I could trust and who would help me to trust myself and my body to have a positive birth experience. My husband was a little reluctant to hire a doula, but after meeting her he was already feeling supported and more confident in the birth process. During the pregnancy she was always making herself available for questions and/or concerns and sharing resources to help us navigate through the different stages of this process. She also has an amazing Childbirth Course, that helped us to prepare for the big day. During the prenatal visits, we had an amazing time together, just like friends hanging out. She would spend enough time talking to us about everything we needed; she was never rushing out and would listen to us carefully. Davon is so KIND and she made us feel so comfortable from the very start. She is also very knowledgeable and would help us with our questions, doubts and insecurities. The whole time she was showing her trust in me and my body to go through the birth. On the birth day, she was available right away when we contact her. She arrived at the Birth Center at the same time we did and was there for the whole time. We arrived there at 2am and my baby was born at 7:30am. She never left my side and stayed there until the first hours of postpartum were over, making sure we were both fine. During labor, she always knew what to do and what to say to help me cope. She had many comfort measures for me during my painful contractions. Although I was almost giving up and asking for medication, she never got discouraged or let me feel that I couldn't do it. Her positive affirmations, calmness and confidence were definitely the reason I was able to go all the way through with the unmedicated birth, even when I thought I couldn't do it anymore. I couldn't have done without her!!! She also has an amazing back up doula (Tanara), who we met virtually and then in person at our last prenatal appointment. This made us feel even more comfortable because we knew that if Davon couldn't make it to the big day for any reason, we still would have someone we trusted to support us over there. She also encapsulated my placenta. She took care of everything in the birth center and brought the capsules to my home on our postpartum appointment. She also made a cute keepsake out of my dehydrated cord, which was a special touch. Davon is like family to us know! We are extremely grateful that she came into our lives and will never forget this experience. read more

Davon is an exceptional person who accompanied my wife and I during one of the most important times of our lives. For that, I am grateful that she shared her many gifts with us, and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND her to my loved ones. Below, I explain why we chose Davon, and what I came to appreciate about her as a *professional* and as a *person*. After contacting and interviewing various doulas, we ultimately chose to work with Davon because her services aligned with our needs, and her values aligned with our own. She also responded quickly and thoroughly (we didn't have to wait several days for a response). Moreover, she is a mother who birthed children, and, with all due respect to doulas who haven't birthed yet, that mattered to us. In fact, her own practice as a doula was, in part, informed by her own previous birthing experiences. She decided to do this work to address a crucial need for women, especially by serving those mothers who tend to face unpleasant experiences and higher stakes. As our working relationship developed over time, I came to her appreciate her as a professional and as a person that that much more. As a professional, Davon is very KNOWLEDGEABLE about birthing experiences. This is thanks to her own careful study, and her seasoned experience as a practitioner. This showed in our meetings with her, where she educated us about birthing - much more so than the hospital did (though I appreciate their support of us as well). Davon is also INFORMED and RESPECTFUL about different cultural traditions of birthing. She knew about some of our birthing traditions, and when we shared some traditions she didn't know about, she was very open to listening to and learning from us - all so the three of us (my wife, Davon, and I) could incorporate those traditions into our birthing experience. Davon is a great RESOURCE. She drew upon her training as a doula, from midwifery, and her experience to suggest various strategies to help my wife and I as our pregnancy developed. This included everything from from herbs, to teas and supplements, books, podcasts, social media accounts, and on and on. Davon is also very RESPONSIVE. During our meetings, and once my wife started going into labor, Davon always received our questions with great care. She always answered them with a lot of deliberate intention. This was especially the case during labor. Hospital staff would share their medical recommendations, and we would always share questions about these recommendations with Davon. She would respond promptly and, again, with a lot of deliberate intention to help us shape the healthiest, most meaningful birth experience possible. Davon is also very THOROUGH. Throughout the experience, she always followed up and came through. There were even some details we didn't expect or anticipate, yet, she would surprise us a little extra something that showed how knowledgeable she was about what we were/are going through, if only because she shared things we would need to overcome the next step. Finally, Davon is an AMAZING person. I hope you get a chance to speak with her. She carries herself with a lot of humility, care, and grace. She is a very mature and intelligent person who works with a genuine love for people. She also possesses one of the highest emotional intelligences I've witnessed; she's very empathetic with others, and finds good ways to accompany people - including myself when I got emotional about a separate family health issue. Because all of this, she earned a deep respect and trust with my wife and I. At the end of the day, she's hella cool. I felt like she was a homegirl from the neighborhood, even damn near a relative of ours. Trust, this was a very important moment in our lives, and we're grateful that we experienced it with Davon's accompaniment. Thank you Davon!! read more

If there was an option to give 10 stars I would totally give them, as Davon is amazing. I was pregnant during one of the most challenging times of my life a pandemic, but Davon helped me get through every challenge and obstacle. She was with was me since I was 6 weeks pregnant, and through the birth of my son. Due to Covoid she was unable to be in the hospital with me physically but her presence was felt during every contraction and scary moment. She helped me feel confident in my abilities to make an informed decision, and also incorporated cultural components in my prenatal and postpartum care. Everything I planned for during this pregnancy did not happen as planned, but Davon continued to be there and help me through the process. From childbirth classes to newborn care classes, or bringing you soup and coconut water when you can't keep anything down, providing positive affirmations to minimize stress or anxiety and being present with you as you feel your baby kick for the first time. She shares an abundance of knowledge and resources to make sure you are prepared. In addition, Davon provides a service that is uniquely tailored for each family. If you are expecting your first or fifth child Davon is the best choice. She was and will continue to be in my village for me and my two children. read more

Davon offers a wealth of knowledge and is an exceptional caregiver. Her educational materials were easy to follow and helped boost our confidence as first time parents. Davon is non-judgmental, personable, and has the skills to work with her clients in whichever style they prefer. During pregnancy, Davon was available for any questions we had and helped us navigate any concerns. While my birth did not go as planned and I ended delivering early via emergency c-section - Davon was ready to pivot and personalize her care to what we needed. She helped comfort my new family during our hospital stay and her expertise was critical to ensuring that my milk came in so that I would be able to successfully breastfeed my baby. Her postpartum doula care was both emergent and tender. As a Black woman, having a doula was non-negotiable for my family's pregnancy journey. Davon exceeded our expectations and transformed what could have been a traumatic story into a lesson on power, trust, faith, and radical community reliance. We now consider her family and would recommend her services to anyone seeking a doula. read more

I was referred to Davon by a midwife I had previously worked with. Davon's warm, friendly and kind energy made it easy to connect with her. Davon is very knowledgeable and the informative prenatal sessions were so valuable in knowing what to expected for labor and delivery. The services I chose were the hybrid doula services, placenta salve and postpartum belly binding. At 38 weeks and 2 days my water broke at midnight. My partner texted Davon to notify her but, never heard back from her until 6am. Davon does encourage families to call her if she doesn't respond to texts which we failed to do while trying to navigate my early labor. When Davon followed up with us she encouraged us to keep her posted. At 11am we were instructed by my doctor to head to the hospital. We notified Davon and she communicated to us that she wouldn't be available until 4pm. When my mom, wife and I got to the hospital we were told that due to Covid they weren't allowing guests to switch out. Which meant that Davon couldn't come switch out my mom to support delivery in person. Therefore, she agreed to support us virtually. Davon let us know that she had another client in labor but, reported that she wasn't as far along as I was in my labor. I knew this was a possibility when I signed on for services but, because my plan had changed to virtual I started to feel like I was not priority anymore. While I was in labor Davon checked in with my partner a couple times to see how I was doing. She encouraged my partner to make sure I was hydrated and educated my partner on advocating on my behalf regarding the Pitocin I was given . Davon did encourage my partner to reach out if we needed anything so we didn't hear much from her since she had another client in labor. With this being our first birth the reassurance/emotional support, suggestions for labor and help with relaxation, reminders of soothing touch, positioning and other techniques for comfort during labor, unfortunately wasn't reflected or felt with Davon being virtual. I'm sure I would have had a more supportive experience if she was in person. One of the concerns I expressed during my prenatal visits was that my partner would need a lot of support supporting me during labor. Davon assured me that her role was to also support my partner. However, with Davon not being in person that support was lost with her being virtual. After delivery Davon sent her back up doula the day of my labor to get my placenta. During the postpartum visit Davon answered our questions and we talked about our labor/delivery. She looked at the baby's latch but, didn't provide much advice other then mentioning that the latch was good. She coached my partner on ways she could support my postpartum experience with nutrition and taking on more responsibilities to allow me to focus on the baby and my healing. Davon encouraged us to reach out as needed but as first time parents we really didn't know what we needed. Upon reflecting it would have been helpful to learn more about navigating postpartum in terms of the feelings and thoughts that arise, solutions for getting rest and preparation for this new transition. Overall I do appreciate the prenatal services and the resources provided, the placenta salve and the belly binding services. read more

As a first time single mom by choice I knew finding the right doula would be an integral part of my journey into motherhood and when I met Davon I knew she would be the right fit. She came highly recommended by two other professionals which demonstrates her contributions in this community. Making the decision to have a baby on my own was scary but having Davon by my side allowed me to feel confident and encouraged. She was knowledgeable, experienced and available during pregnancy. During labor and delivery Davon was present, loving, helped create a sacred space and met me where I was at. During postpartum, Davon's expertise and presence was instrumental in helping me through the first few scary weeks at home. Davon will always be a part of my birth story and I'm so grateful. read more

Davon was a necessary addition to my birthing team and a wise investment. Her support and attentive care started day one of me securing her services. She was always readily available and responsive. Being able to compare this birthing experience to my first, it is clear to me that her knowledge, support, and presence made a world of difference. Under her support, we implemented breath work (controlled breathing techniques)--I felt in control of my birth and my contractions the entire time. During labor it felt as though every contraction had purpose. I could feel my baby descending with every contraction which allowed me to give birth in just three hours from my arrival. Davon coached and encouraged me every step of the way, consistently reminding me that I was in charge and not my contractions, also that my body was doing what it should and that I was more than capable. It was truly an epic and triumphant birthing experience. It left me feeling proud and invincible. I highly recommend, 10/10. Thank you Davon!! read more

My husband and I used Davon for doula services and also to encapsulate my placenta. I am a first time mom and it was very important to me to plan for a natural birth(no medications) but to deliver in the hospital. Throughout my pregnancy Davon met with my husband and I for prenatal visits at our home. This to me, was very important. I really enjoyed the intimacy that Davon provided while servicing us at our home. I cannot express enough how amazing she was throughout my pregnancy and also during my birth. Her patience, knowledge, words of encouragement And holistic views is something I'll NEVER forget! I got through my labor with no medications because of her, she pushed Me and didn't let me give up. Davon is absolutely amazing. She was with me from the very beginning of my pregnancy around 3 or 4 months. We had monthly check ins where we talked about my plans for birth and not only just about the pregnancy whatever I needed to talk about. She was there for me. When it was time for me to give birth to my baby girl she was there for me from start to finish. Encouraging me to breathe through my contractions and stay grounded. When I felt like I couldn't go on she reminded me that I was made to give birth and I was very capable of getting through the labor. She also connected me with so many resources that helped me threw out the pregnancy. I'm so happy that I found her I can't thank her enough for all of her love and support. I promise you will not regret choosing her as your doula. read more

Choosing Davon was truly the best decision my husband and I could have made to prepare for our first baby. She is so kind and nurturing and was available throughout my pregnancy for any questions or concerns we may have had. We opted for the hybrid package so our prenatal appointments were on zoom. However, meeting Davon in person when I was in labor felt so natural and comfortable. Although my labor and delivery did not go according to my original plan, Davon helped me navigate the long labor and changes that came up along the way. I had a very intense back labor that wouldn't let up and having Davon was crucial for me to get through it. She was available by phone for the 12+ hours I labored at home and stayed with us in person for the remaining 20 hours at the hospital. She stopped by our home to check in on us a few days after delivery and still regularly checks in with us by phone. My husband and I are still talking about how important Davon was during the whole process and we would 100% recommend and use her again. Thank you Davon! read more

Davon was absolutely amazing! She is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about her craft, which she has gotten down to a science. My lady parts felt so fresh and I definitely could tell. I couldn't wait to have another one done. There are so many things that all us as women that we feel there is only a pill for. Davon came to my home to do a bone closing ceremony and I had a beautiful experience. I absolutely loved having Davon for my doula. I came across her yelp page at 40 weeks and 3 days pregnant (first time mom), desperately seeking comfort and guidance. I originally reached out to her for a massage, but from the moment we started talking I knew there was a divine reason why the universe brought us together & I ended up obtaining her doula services in addition to the massage. Davon came over to my house the very next day and gave me a relaxing 75 minute back massage. We created a birthing preferences plan and she informed me about common procedures and questions...and we spoke about ways to induce at home. At this point being 40 weeks 4 days pregnant AND it being super bowl Sunday, I was beyond ready to have my baby. After following her simple instructions my water broke while dancing during the half time show and she met me at the hospital, my baby was born about 6 hours later. My birthing experience was truly unique. Davon was with me 100% of the way and I wouldn't ask for anything to have played out differently. Davon was supportive and very knowledgeable. Such a sweet spirit! I am forever grateful for her. I had Davon encapsulate my placenta and she made a nice placenta balm. I also enjoyed her yoni steaming which I did a few weeks postpartum. Davon is a true gift from the gods and will forever be part of my family. I highly recommend her services. Thank you, Davon! read more

We were on the fence about hiring a birth doula because of the expense and uncertainty around the exact benefits a doula would provide us. We decided to go for it, though, because we had no local family support and also thought a doula would help us achieve our goal of having a natural, unmedicated birth. In the end, we couldn't be happier with our decision to hire Davon. She was just the friendly, warm, calm presence we needed. When Davon arrived at the hospital, once labor was in full swing, I felt instantly calmer and more in control. She hugged me and helped me through a breathing method that I used for every contraction thereafter. She worked with my husband to massage and support me for hour after hour, contraction after contraction. With her help, I got into such a state of focused meditation, I don't know where the time went. Before I knew it, it was time to push and (after about 20 minutes of very loud swearing and screaming) out came our sweet little baby, medication free. Davon also took many wonderful photos to document this special time. We are so thankful to have had Davon help make this process so special and to help us document it, so we'll never forget it! read more

I'm not sure where to start but I will start by expressing my gratitude for having Davon as my doula as my husband and I welcomed our first daughter to the earthside Davon is an amazing doula who knows how to HOLD SPACE when she is present in her work. When my labor started I gave her a call to let her know what was going on and she answered my call right away and waited for us to call her when things really started going. When it was time she came in and instantly flowed with the vibed my husband and I created it was so smooth and I was at such ease having her present. She knew exactly what to do for me, and prior to my birth we had prenatal visits over zoom mind you we didn't even get that in-person time except my birth team meeting but it was as if we knew each other. Davon also did a placenta encapsulation for me. Quick story behind my placenta, we named our daughter My'hara which stands for (my heart) and Davon had no idea what her name meant but after telling her she showed me a picture of my placenta and she said this was the natural shape of my placenta I was in tears , I highly recommend her service to other families. read more

Davon was an absolute pleasure to work with! She processed our baby's placenta for us, and she was so warm, so on top of things (explaining the methods she used, pickup and delivery, all of it), and so fast that I can't imagine the process being any easier. I truly can't recommend her highly enough. Your placenta will be in very good, caring hands. read more

Choosing Davon as our doula was the best decision my husband and I could have done during my second son's home-birth. Prior to deciding to choose a doula, I had followed DivineBirthright on Instagram when I was researching home-births, but I never reached out for consultation. However, when I hired my midwife she recommended that I consider hiring a doula and at first I was hesitant because my husband was an amazing support person (or the "original doula" as he likes to coin himself) during my oldest son's natural hospital birth. However after meeting Davon and seeing how she interacted with myself, my husband, and my oldest son I immediately knew we would hire her. She was attentive, collaborative, and provided expertise and encouragement along my pregnancy and postpartum. If your hesitant about hiring a doula, don't be-- schedule a consultation with Davon and you will see you need her apart of your pregnancy journey as she will be an integral support person during your pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. Davon was always in regular communication with us, on time to our meetings, and when unavailable she provided an amazing backup doula for coverage for us if we needed anything in Davon's absence. We cannot thank Davon enough for being present during a special time in our lives. Davon helped make my home birth experience so amazing and comfortable. I know that her suggestions and coaching helped tremendously to make my pregnancy journey and labor remarkable! read more

Where do you even begin when the gift given is beyond words? We started our search for a Doula because we felt undervalued and unseen during our prenatal journey, often getting quickly moved through appointments, reintroducing ourselves to new providers and feeling like we needed to know all of the questions to ask during our appointments to prepare for the next phases because information was not readily available or provided. Additionally, as a queer couple, we found that both verbal and non-verbal language used in our appointments and within care was not always inclusive or representative of the multitude of family systems that exist. When we met Davon, it felt like we had reconnected with a friend that became family long ago. She immediately took the load off of us, and normalized our experiences and where we were in our journey. She took time to walk with us at our pace to ensure we understood what to expect as pregnancy progressed, our options at each interval and created a plan that felt individualized and best for our family. By being informed of our options, we were also able to think through, in advance, what we would want should our ideal plan need to adjust. We chose to receive support virtually due to the limitations of support persons allowed in delivery. With that being said, it felt as though Davon was with us every step of the way. She quickly connected with us through text, phone call, FaceTime or Zoom at any time, when we needed, and in the way we needed. Davon valued us as whole people, individually and as a unit. While asking questions to ensure we were progressing healthily, she also checked in our mental, social and emotional health. Davon was equipped with recommendations for any questions we threw her way and has an extensive support network she can recommend for speciality needs. The only change we would make in our journey would be to connect with Davon sooner! read more

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Recommended by a doula friend, I reached out to Davon on very short notice at 38 weeks, and she responded quickly and we clicked after a very serendipitous first meeting. We had a second, (extremely helpful) prenatal check-in a week later, which ended up being the evening before my daughter's birth at exactly at 39 weeks. Davon checked in on me via phone throughout the early labor, until it was time to meet at the birth center. By then, contractions had become overwhelmingly intense, but I felt immediate relief when she arrived. She tapped in and shifted the whole ambiance in a way that was both gentle and powerful. She poured me a nice bath, which was exactly what I needed to relax and prepare for the natural water-birth that came a few hours later. My daughter's birth was truly an awesome experience! Davon balanced the physical discomfort with moments of bliss in between contractions by feeding me water, honey and encouragement. She worked very harmoniously with the other birth professionals and everyone else in the room. My mother, who was also SO impressed with Davon, observed her ability to intuitively know exactly when and how I needed touch. Each birth is so unique but she carries an archive of knowledge through her own diverse experiences giving birth, and she deeply understands the hypersensitivity of a woman in labor. She massaged my legs as they cramped up, fanned me for hours and reminded me to breath between contractions. Anytime I wanted to give up, her words would conjure my strength and guide me through. She has incredible endurance in staying present with her clients--in fact, it seemed she was present with me through every contraction and breath. My mental space got fuzzy as labor progressed, but I remember her grounding presence by my side the entire time. She went above and beyond, it's hard to put into words the magnitude of which I received through her services. She was incredibly generous in customizing a full package that added exponential layers of wisdom, and beauty into the birth ceremony, all while I was in a financially limited position. She was everything I needed and fulfilled my birth vision of a spiritual and sacred experience. I would highly recommend the yoni steam and "Closing of the bones" ceremony as part of your postpartum care, because they really helped mentally and physically process all the magic and healing that took place through the birth. My bleeding stopped within a couple of days afterwards, and I am convinced it was the work of the yoni steam and closing of the bones. Davon also encapsulated my placenta which really helped to support and balance the milk supply and hormonal shifts. Birth is such an intense transition and she really helped me direct all that energy into self-empowerment. I am truly grateful for the beautiful space she held for me, especially as I unexpectedly separated from my partner and became single-parent. She set me up in moving forward with clarity and strength, and I am deeply inspired by her as a mother. I will definitely stay connected to Davon, she is now part of my community and I can not recommend her enough--she was made for this work, and she is the best doula I could've possibly asked for! I had a great experience working with Davon! Although I did not work with her for doula services, it is something I plan on finically saving for during my next pregnancy. I worked with Davon in placenta capsulation. We met half way through my pregnancy to go over any questions I may have and she has such a warm and inviting presence. Unfortunately I was not able to encapsulate my placenta after my delivery due to health reasons she still came to the hospital to visit with me and give me other options on what I could do with my placenta that did not involved ingesting it. We decided to get an imagine of my placenta and then freeze it and hope to plant it soon. I highly recommend working with Davon for any of her services, I sure will again! read more

My husband and I were expecting our first baby. We had quite the journey trying to conceive and were very nervous about how the delivery would go. I suffer from endometriosis and therefore I have a very low pain tolerance. My sister strongly encouraged us to have a doula as a support for the birth of our baby. Meeting Davon Crawford was a gift sent from God. She is very easy to talk to and very experienced with helping moms to have the ideal birth that fits their needs. Her services of prenatal and postpartum were above and beyond. She created a relaxed calm and soothing environment using essential oils, soft music, encouraging words and massage to help me get through each contraction, she gave both myself and my husband the full support that we needed to delivery our baby. She checks in quite often with us to see how we are doing. Davon Crawford has truly given us the love and support that we needed during our delivery. She is very compassionate being a doula to support moms and their spouses during their journey of birth. We have connected with her so well that she honestly has now become part of the family. We highly recommend Davon as a doula to every expecting family. The Adams Family read more

We found Davon after deciding to use a birth center instead of a hospital and they required a doula for first time moms. Knowing this was the best choice for us, taking a path we were unfamiliar with was still unnerving. In meeting Davon for the first time it became immediately clear that we were on the right path. Davon, being very grounded, was easy to connect with, brought great energy to our journey and offered us a beautiful lens through which to see the birthing process. We felt comfortable as well knowing that she supports a variety of birth plans and even offers other services on the side that we could possibly use postpartum. Not only is Davon well informed, offering a plethora of information and resources, she was also mindful of our experience giving us what information we needed when the time was right or when we asked. Part of what we've learned on our journey is that reducing stress and cultivating calm is one of the best intentions to have during pregnancy and the birthing process and Davon is a wonderful support in creating just that kind of experience. She even introduced us to a possible backup doula who would be available in case she were in the middle of another birth to make sure that we were always supported even at times when Davon wasn't immediately available. In addition to Davon's professionalism and notable abilities as a doula, the most significant quality about her that we have gratitude for is her genuine enthusiasm and interest in the birthing process. Her heart is in it. She continuously builds on her knowledge, is eager to help when needed, sees the beauty in the birthing process and intends to focus on community building and bringing people together postpartum, something we look forward to being part of. read more

Davon is honestly super genuine and gives off a great aura. From being flexible and setting up a same day zoom to meet and discuss services all the way to checking in close to my due date and finally with my placenta capsules and care package she delivered. Being a new mom is stressful and overwhelming so having her deliver everything so fast and throw in some really sweet bonuses like a book lactation cookie and more was just over the top and seriosuly made me tear up to see how much she really cares and I was not just another customer. I highly recommend hiring Divine Birthright if your in Solano county! read more

From the moment I met Devon at our meet and greet I knew she would be a great fit for my birth journey. She struck the perfect balance of a practical/spiritual vibe I was looking for in a doula. I was early in my pregnancy when I hired her and she made herself available in case I had any questions or concerns come up. Even though my labor & delivery experience turned out different than I expected-Davon was there for me to offer me support and process the change in plans which ended up being a csection. I was most grateful for Davon's support postpartum. She helped facilitate breastfeeding in the recovery unit at the hospital following the csection. I doubt my baby girl and I would have had such a successful start to breastfeeding if it wasn't for Davon's help during that crucial golden hour. For that I will be forever grateful. Lastly, I hired Davon for a postpartum overnight visit when my husband had to take a last minute work trip. Since I have no family nearby she was the only one I trusted to help me and watch the baby so I could take a little snooze during that vulnerable time with a newborn. We continue to keep in touch and I am so happy I was able to connect with such a great and passionate doula. She truly cares about her clients and I will forever be thankful for the space she held and continues to hold for me as a new mama! read more

You can tell when someone is living their purpose. By the energy they bring to their work, by the way they treat the people they're serving, by the attention to detail they have. Davon is definitely living her purpose via her work as a doula. She was punctual and professional during all prenatal sessions. When labor began and throughout its development, Davon was a constant coach and support, not just for me, but for my husband too. I was aiming to have an unmedicated birth, but I ended up having a c-section. Having Davon present as we faced so many real-time curveballs and challenges really helped my husband and I figure out how to navigate them. I'm not sure how we would have managed it if she had not been there. There was so much foreign terrain and things we'd never encountered before that we now had to consider, so having an experienced professional by our side made a world of difference. Even after the birth, Davon's value continued to shine through. About 1-2 weeks postpartum, Davon visited us and helped us talk through and process our birth experience so that I could make peace with it and move forward with learnings and gratitude for what had transpired. All in all, my husband and I would recommend Davon without hesitation. She has a true gift, and she is a true gift to anyone who opens their home to her. read more

Davon was born to be a doula. Her kind spirit, generous heart and patience it what any woman needs going through this transformative experience. My new baby is 3 months now. The labor was long and hard. Davon was there with me and my family all 3 days of it all and beyond. She spokes me beforehand and advocated for me as to how I wanted the birth to go along. She listened to my needs and ultimately helped me to make the best choices that brought forward a healthy beautiful baby girl. We are honored to have had her services. I'm sure my experience would have been more risky and scary if not for her presence. I recommend her to any and all women seeking a professional and heartfelt birth doula. Best! read more

Divine Birthright - Doulas Near Me

Davon is a wonderful calm personality to have at your birth. Having a child is such a momentous and overwhelming experience, that I have attached a lifetime of fear to. It was fabulous to have someone in the room with me that has seen this so many times and can ease your worries and reassure you that everything is progressing normally. Overall I would 100% recommend having Davon as your doula she's great support during birth, as well as with breast feeding and post partum support. read more

It was such a pleasure to have Davon as our Doula for our first baby. The moment we had our initial Zoom meeting, I knew we were going to hire her. We were preparing for a home birth but ended up having to transfer to the hospital and thank goodness the hospital allowed her to be apart of that experience. We really needed her and I don't know what we would have done if she wasn't by our sides. I say "we" and "our" because I greatly feel that my partner needed her support just as much as I did. She was OUR doula and an amazing addition to our birth team. Not to mention, we wanted someone who is African American because we wanted to make our doula understood our culture and believes in the same morals and values as we do. Someone who could relate to us and could give great insight as we have had similar experiences in life. We are so blessed to have had an phenomenal doula and not to mention, the closing ceremony was the icing on the cake! I can't express my gratitude enough. Thank you so much, Davon, for all of your love, support, encouragement, and confidence in Nicholas and I. I definitely can say confidently that I've gained a sistah for life! read more

Ok so let me start out by saying I love Davon and Ive gained so much just from having her as my doula. Ive gained knowledge, Ive gained a friend, I found strength that I didn't know existed within me and much more. So initially my midwife recommended I get a doula mnths before my due date and I was just really uninterested in getting a doula, honestly im glad that I didn't because I probably wouldn't of even met davon. I waited really last minute to try and get a doula. I was a week away from my due date and davon took on the roll of being my doula even though it was cutting it very close. We did our visit and she got everything done in one visit. She was so supportive with what I didnt want and what I did want. She even made my bf who was against me getting a doula change his entire outlook on doulas. So I ended up going over my due date by a week. Between those two weeks of us meeting and my due date I was constantly asking her questions about things that I didnt know, and she was so helpful with that. Ok so now we're at the point where my water breaks this is my first pregnancy so im nervous idk what to do. Davon was very informative and she was knowledgeable she knows her stuff! She helped me by telling me what I should do while keeping my birthing plan in mind and being supportive of that. Ok so shes at the hospital with me and im having contractions.... she changed the atmosphere to how I wanted it she made it so easy for me to relax. She spoke to me the entire time and a calm voice to help me, she brought out different tools to help me. Its so much I could type about my birthing experience and how davon helped it be everything I couldnt have ever imagined but she made my birthing experience so beautiful for me she helped not only me she helped my mom and my bf. From not wanting a doula at all I couldve never imagined id be writing a review and also have gained a friend as well. Shes even still being so helpful to me postpartum with me being a new resident to California all the way from Maryland im having a hard time finding a babysitter she is helping with that as well. She has helped me beyond anything imaginable in such a short time frame. #Doulasrock #MyDoulaRocks read more

Davon from day 1 was very attentive to me, was aware of how my pregnancy was going, although I only asked for my placenta capsules she gave me advice at all times, I am very grateful to her and I know that the capsules they will help me read more

Davon is a wonderful human being who was of immense help to us as I prepare for a second birth. We needed emergency childcare for my young toddler, and because of her own experience as a mother and doula, she immediately connected with my son and knew how to take care of him when I needed her the most. She is extremely professional in that she regarded her primary duty as making sure my son was well cared for, and she moved gracefully between deferring to my decisions for how to care for him and offering suggestions to his needs. Her warmth and positivity are her best qualities, and I believe her calling is to help others. You will not regret adding Davin to your support network, and I truly thank her for helping us juggle childcare, our work obligations, and dealing with third trimester woes! read more
