As a result, I DO NOT recommend Town and Country Electrical.

Got assigned this contractor by American home shield for a failing AC system. They did come out…read morepretty quickly to check the system and determined there was a leak due to low pressure and their solution they gave to AHS was to use a leak stop while refilling the system . ( 24 year old system ) When to my surprise, I got an estimated out of pocket expense for this fix I did some research . The out of pocket was 570 but they were also charging AHS nearly 750 for additional items to bring the 24 year old unit up to current code. 250 to raise the condenser 3 inches off my existing concrete pad. 220 for refrigerant locking caps 250 for float switch. My 570 not covered was for a sight glass the manager of AF1 insisted was required by not Code but. " by manufacturer " but never told me which manufacturer and from my research is total BS. I called the VA state and local building code office to discuss the items related to code and they both said totally not required unless replacing the unit. VA Property maintenance code applied to this case NOT building code. Called AF1 to discuss and Gerald would not take my call, was too busy for that but emailed me at length several times saying he was right, they were wrong and he would be in touch with my state building code POC to "hold a class with them" direct quote . I doubt he did. If using this contractor, read the estimate very carefully and question things. I'm not sure they will be used by American home shield much more as I was told they were being looked into. Due to my research, AHS sent another contractor out who said the unit was done, AHS agreed to replace the entire condenser unit evap coil.. my out of pocket .. ZERO dollars.

For the last 4 yrs I had only partial electricity to my home and during that 4 yrs, I had 3 separate people come out to "fix" it. Well, the longest any of the fixes lasted was a week. Each person gave a different reason for my problem, yet they were wrong every time. I remembered a really super knowledgeable electrician that not only was a true wizard with perfect work, but 100% honest and reasonable. He was so accommodating in his time as well and worked around my schedule of trying to care for my partner in a rehab due to quadruple bypass surgery with the additional loss of a kidney due to cancer. I could never thank him enough for working with me. Back to my house with only partial elec service. Larry traced every cable and line in my house and even many outlets. He went through my entire panel box, too, and there it was, the problem that had caused me untold aggravation for 4 years. FIXED by the wizard and then even fixed an outlet that had been wired backwards and upside down. He was a perfectionist in his work, explained how the problem came about and everything he did to fix it permanently, plus he left not a trace of mess behind. I was overjoyed and went around the house checking all the room and all the outlets I used to use regularly. Later that night, a huge storm came thru and tons of folks lost power, myself included. Hours later, the power was restored and it woke me to what I thought was the sunniest day I'd ever seen. Ha. I'd left every light on in the house, and after I finished laughing at myself, I realized I was grinning from ear to ear with the happiness of seeing full light in my house. We got quotes for up to $100 for just a visit to our home. Ridiculous. Anyhow my hubby found Ace Electric & they were able to get someone to come out and give us a quote the very next day. (Charge free) After they gave us the quote they actually had some guys finish work the same day! So the guys came and out started to put in our recess lighting. Cayman & Ray were awesome. Very professional. And they worked at a great pace. They did the living room and our kitchen! Took about 4 hours for each room. Did a really beautiful job & their work gave our property such a face lift. When the tenants move out of the other side of our duplex my husband will use them again to install more recess lighting.
