From stolen wallets and checkbooks to attempts to commit identity theft, Fidelity has excelled in protecting my account both brick and mortar and online. I compare this to service from Citibank which came up short. Very. Short. The only other organization with security that comes close is American Express. If your account has been targeted Fidelity will raise the security of your account. They will freeze some easily exploited features. This means you can't use it either but it just means you need to call Fidelity and get verified by their voice recognition and they will excute the action on your behalf. The following is a duplicate of a Yelp review that I submitted on another account. Yelp cannot merge accounts so they recommend you copy your reviews then delete the extra account. The original review was submitted in 2020, You judge quality when the chips are down. Recently, I was burglarized And the burglars left spyware on all the machines in my home network. Yeah, that's why they didn't bother to steal the equipment. This is how you reset your passwords when your equipment is compromised. You go to Fidelity and you reset your password. The manager himself carried equipment out to me. The staff let me stay late to finish up. The staff looked up 800 numbers for me. They dialed the numbers and held the line until I was ready for the call. It was almost surreal. Not one other financial institution came close to this level of service. Far as I can figure Fidelity has the best security against identity theft that I've encountered.

Thought it was cool they have a brick and mortar shop near me…read more I emailed a person there and they never responded. This was a referral too -- it's been a few weeks as of this review. Nothing. Calling in for hours, they said I could get it done through the phone. Which I did, and it was actually through the app we downloaded. -- Not upset but I guess why have a brick and mortar if you just prefer people basically use the customer service line and app. For the branch itself, it would be 1 star since they ghosted me but they get a whole star ('could have been better' = 2 stars) because a person there did transfer my call to their customer service line which helped me in the end.

I have an unfortunately vast amount of experience with identity theft due to a burglary which…read morecompromised all my passwords and other sensitive identiy information. In the course of securing my accounts, I got some serious exposure to the fraud divisions of multiple financial institutions. I give Fidelity top marks. And I compare them to outfits like Citibank. The only other outfit with competitive security is American Express. I closed the problematic accounts and I kept Fidelity and Amex. But lets discuss the investment. I've had competent investment advisors almost all of them from the Mountain View office. The solutions they proposed were financially sound according to principles of investment theory. I can say this because I had my portfolio reviewed by a friend who is in the financial industry and a very successful investor (no he doesn't take small clients like me). He kindly ran an analysis of his portfolio and mine and concluded mine had significantly lower risk while returns were very reasonably competive with his. How can this be? Well Fidelity is enormous. They can execute financial operations with lower costs because of their size. Their top notch technology don't hurt one bit. Due to my circumstances, Fidelity proposed very conservative investments. However, conservative investments in bonds and such like don't protect you from inflation. To do that you need investment in stocks. But if you are lucky you'll get an experienced advisor who had more tricks up his sleeve that your average advisor. This is a big shout out for John Conception who proposed a solution which solved the need for a stable portion of your portfolio while maintaining an aggressive stock portfolio thus resolving the conflicting needs for my retirement funds. Of course John's proposed solution was vetted by my buddy the financial guy who at this point became very interested in John... Thank you John and Happy New Year. After reading some of the other reviews, there seems to be some confusion about Fidelity. It is an investment firm and not a bank. If you examine some of your "Fidelity" checks, you can see it's actually administered by UMB bank. Fidelity or any other investment firm cannot accept deposits, give you cash from your account or give you bank/cashiers/blank checks because they are legally barred from banking operations due to one or the other of the fiscal scandels in the 2000's which rocked the industry. To deposit checks or get cash, go to any ATM. Fidelity wil reimburse you for the fees. To order checks, alas, use the website. I've never tried asking customer service to send me checks but who knows... it might work. If you need to write a check to someone in a hurry and are caught without your checkbook, there are several electronic transfers of funds, one of these might do the trick. You can use the app to deposit checks as well.

Search for "brokerage account bonus". I moved mine to JP Morgan, Schwab, and Tastytrade and netted far more than the $2000 loss Fidelity caused. Pankit Patel was my financial advisor. He earned a commission of nearly $500 on the transaction that cost me the money. He never once offered this as a gesture of reconciliation, nor did he ever apologize. No one at the company did. 2 stars because Fidelity has some good products: their cash back Visa, fee-free ATM card, and their zero-cost index funds.

Alan D. invited us to a financial investment seminar, "Savvy women, smart investors take charge of…read moretheir financial future," for educational purposes. At first we were a bit skeptical as most seminars have a underlining sales pitch and pressure accompanying them. I think we've all been there, one time or another. Upon arrival we were greeted and introduced to Shane Jacksteit, Edward Jones Financial Advisor, and Grant Martin, MFS Fund Distributors, Inc. Regional Manager. MFS is know for their invention of the mutual fund concept in the early twentieth century. The seminar was very informative from the basic financial investment strategies to some historical facts. The guest speaker Grant Martin, who simplified complex financial topics into easily understood concepts, using illustrative examples. He made us aware of many investment approaches that should be considered, and the first and foremost the concept of "paying yourself first." The seminar also discussed the reality that most women survive their husbands, and how that places investment responsibility on them. The seminar also covered topics, such as, retirement planning, educational planning, importance of seeking financial advices during critical life events, eldercare, estate planning and financial basics. I was very impressed with the seminar and the knowledge I've gained from it. It made me think about our personal financial investment goals and approaches, and how we should considered other diversified investment strategies. The best part was the relaxed approach to the seminar with potential avenue for financial advising if we choose to do so. Thanks Alan, Shane and Grant for an educational evening and the healthy snacks.

The seminar by Edward Jones presented side by side by MFS Fund Distrubutors Inc. Grant Martin Regional Manager and Shane Jacksteit Edward Jones Financial Advisor. First off the seminar was called " Savvy women, smart investors take charge of their financial future." Here's two guys leading this event. Couldn't they find a qualified woman to do that:)? Well Grant Martin's mentor was a savvy woman who's in the industry long before Alan D was born. Shane Jacksteit has his wife present and gave him street cred:) But the short of it is this two managed to enlightened the group and answered our questions and scared us to death about our really bad spending habits. Also managed to remind us that being prepared is half the financial battle won. They did all these without sounding and acting like used car salesmen! Compounding pennies sounds really interesting right now!
