It had gotten rundown after all wood only last so long. They voted to refurbished the park and this is what they ended up with. This is nice as well almost as nice lake Helen Park. I love all of the seating, has canopies over it for people to sit and they've got all kinds of equipment. The kids can play on climb on and explore. Young kids to old people are hanging out here. It's for everyone. There's just so much nice wide open room that you don't feel crowded here there's trash cans by everything where you could throw your trash away after you're done snacking or drinking or whatever you happen to be doing at the time but the nice thing about the Kidzone is it so wide open you can see everything now I cannot wait until summer to see how the little miniature splash pad is. They also have the tennis courts and a basketball goal for you to play basketball.

I had to say that we couldn't hear him on the speaker or that we were still waiting or whatever multiple times while waiting in the rooms. We heard him outside the door getting another group ready for their escape room while we were waiting for our chimes. When we told him at the end, all he said was it was part of the escape room. Basically, they either need to get more staff or give more time to make up for the time missed waiting on them. I don't think the time we got (due to lack of staff and waiting) added up to the amount of money I spent.

There are tvs as well as some other cardio equipment. The weight room had an array of Nautilus equipment and adequate amount of free weights. The facility appeared clean and I am told tanning is free with membership. I noticed a sign for personal training offered for an additional fee. If I lived in Elgin, I would likely join Pride Fitness.

Rush Springs Watermelon Festival - Rush Springs, OK…read more It's that time of year again -- the annual Watermelon Festival in Rush Springs, about 1 hour and 15 minutes from Oklahoma City. We arrived around 11:30 AM, and unfortunately, traffic was a nightmare. A single left-turn lane into town with no police directing cars meant a very slow crawl. Even after turning, it was still a long, single-file line into Jeff Davis Park. Poor traffic management really hurt the arrival experience. I eventually gave up on the main route, turned down a side street, parked, and walked the rest of the way. Not a bad walk going in... but leaving was another story in the heat! Once inside the park, the place was buzzing with activity. Dozens of vendors offered handmade goods, food, and festival treats. Our first stop was Keck's Root Beer -- I bought four small flasks, and refills were only $2, which was a nice touch. We found the watermelon stand ($5 per serving). It wasn't chilled, but it was sweet and delicious. I introduced my grandson to the magic of salt on watermelon, which he loved. Tried to get him to try Tajín... but that was a hard pass. We even caught the crowning of the Watermelon Queen. After more browsing, a couple of bags of kettle corn, and another root beer refill, we decided we'd had enough. The heat was stifling, and that walk back to the car wasn't going to get any cooler. On the way out of town, we stopped at a local fruit and vegetable stand and picked up a 38 lb watermelon and a 20 lb orange-fleshed variety -- both excellent. It had been 15 years since my last visit. I enjoyed the time with my son and grandsons, but between the traffic and the heat, it might be another 15 before I go again.

But if you're in the area and looking for a place to play a fun round of golf just because you enjoy the game (which is us!!), then is a fun place to play. The people were SUPER nice and pleasant, helped us find the #1 tee box, had cold beer, and said they are never closed!! Yes, the ground is rather desert-y but it's Oklahoma. It was lots of brown instead of beautiful green grass, but that just meant your ball rolled forever. It helped our game!! Lol!! It was actually a most enjoyable day because I just enjoy playing the game, especially with my husband. Golf in OK: check!
