I decided at 55 to learn how to play golf and decided to book 3 1 hour lessons with Grant Brown. I went one to book 6 more. He is very friendly, respectfully, insightful, flexible in his availability, able to adjust his teaching style, boasts a huge body of knowledge, uses a number of valuable and helpful techniques including videos, pictures, tricks of the trade, weekly follow ups including online videos, before and after pictures, reviews of course outline, break downs of steps to follow, reminder for upcoming lessons, take home exercises. I cannot recommend him enough and would strongly encourage anyone who desires to start from scratch or improve one or more aspects of their game to give Grant a try. One full hour with Grant will allow you, as was the case with me, an affordable opportunity to work with a professional golf instructor...and I expect a future Golf Pro. I saw grant working with a 10 year old boy right up to an 80 year old man... Lastly, the StarFire Golf Club and all of its employee treated me like a lifetime member and Grant uses an area of the course, away the 9 and 18 hole courses that is perfect for learning how to punt, chip, lobe, pitch, use a hybrid and driver. My lesson with Grant was a great experience. Grant is a really effective communicator and an absolute expert. He quickly helped me understand and fix a major issue in my swing and I have experienced an immediate boost as a result. Grant goes beyond just fixing his student's swing, however. Grant also provided me with exercises to improve my flexibility and reduce risk of injuries, as well as a practice plan and mental game wisdom. He also went above and beyond by providing me with notes from our lesson, video from our lesson, and excellent instructional videos that he has produced. Read the reviews on Yelp and chose Grant Brown. He agreed to meet me late on a Saturday. I believe in my email to him he took pity since I am a new golfer and 70 years old. He worked just on my chipping. Normally, I seem to hit the ball high which causes the ball to sail over the green. Grant was able to explain in very clear terms what I needed to do to correct the topping. Near the end of the lesson, I was placing the ball on the green every time. He gave me several drills to do and followed up with a tip sheet via email. Oh, while taking the lesson, he filmed me on his iPad and AirDropped the pics to me. I had a long layoff due to surgery on my left knew meniscus. I went to the range a few times then played 2 rounds of golf. Disaster hit...I could not get off the tee. It was like I never played the game before ever. I reached out to Grant who I took some lessons from last year. Grant was able to fit me in. I explained what happened and within 20 minutes he had me hitting the ball consistently off the tee to acceptable distance and in play. He broke down the swing thoughts to the most basic fundamentals to help me get back to something acceptable. I played yesterday and reduced by score by 13 strokes. More importantly Grant gave me the confidence to apply the basics to improve my confidence in my swing. I decided it was finally time to take some lessons for my golf game and I came across Grant's page, and I am so thankful I did! Grant is an awesome instructor. He works with your current swing and is able to give you easy to follow drills and tweaks to immediately improve your shots. I have seen Grant two times and it has already helped my game immensely. I had taken a few lessons around town, and one day I was having a frustrating range session after a lesson. I mentioned it to the guy next to me and he told me Grant was the best in town and should check him out. I did...and the guy was exactly right. Grant knows how to speak to you in a way that makes sense. He can be as technical or basic as you need him to be. He works with you on your own personal swing and doesn't try to tell you it has to be exactly one way. I have been working with him for two months and I have gone from having no idea how to hit a golf ball to shooting in the mid to high 80's in 6 lessons.
