There's just so many things to say that are wonderful about this gem. We were told at the visitor…read morecenter that it is the second largest visited refuge in North America. The bison are truly breathtaking. If you get the chance to see them sit and watch for a while. We were able to do some hiking and picnic. There's also camping and fishing and boating, but we didn't do any of that on this trip. We picked up lots of pamphlets at the visitor center, so we can come back again and try again. They have lots of help at the visitor center and are glad to answer questions. They also have a great little gift shop if you want to pick up a treasure or a Momento for your visit. We took the time to take the scenic drive up to the top of Mount Scott walked around, took lots of photos. We met people from all over the world up there. It was pretty amazing. I can't wait to go back and do some more hiking. We did stop on the side of the road to look at the Longhorn cattle. There are some of the original stock from back on the turn-of-the-century or release from the bloodline it's pretty neat all these things that you can do while you're here visiting I highly recommend it. It's a great adventure not just for families but just solo if you wanna get out and explore.

Opening day for the season today. Grounds were mowed and…read morelots of people there. Not alot has changed since last visit except new nice restrooms. I maybe expected it to have grown in size or nicer surroundings. It's still pretty much a big field. Animals that they have are good. We held a Kangaroo and a monkey was running around putting on a show. An hour drive from OKC. They did have a nice kids play area with a slide. Update, we all ended up with a stomach bug the day after. Just please take hand wipes and then wash in restroom as leaving.

WOW, if we could be any more disappointed, I'd be shocked. For small dogs you have to enter the large dog park FIRST and then go into the smaller one inside. No poop bag stations either- so clearly this was geared towards large dogs. Next- it was the most disgusting dog park- trash EVERYWHERE. Bottles with what looked like human pee in it? I tried to clean up the trash a bit before we let our pup play, but it just was not worth it and didn't want to risk her getting sick from something. I would suggest passing on this park if you are not a regular because clearly this is not maintained well.

It's beautiful! Above the short dam is swimming, no fishing. Below the dam is fishing, no swimming. We got you covered. Ninety years later, it's still wonderfu! The footbridge was rebuilt some years ago. There is a $3 charge to swim, and they have tubes and stuff for rent. It's hot! Let's go swimming!

The people were SUPER nice and pleasant, helped us find the #1 tee box, had cold beer, and said they are never closed!! Yes, the ground is rather desert-y but it's Oklahoma. It was lots of brown instead of beautiful green grass, but that just meant your ball rolled forever. It helped our game!! Lol!! I was three hours away on my way home to Dallas. I googled to see what bowling centers that I would…read morepass on my return trip. Most all of them were scheduled to be closed at the time I would be arriving. Google said this bowling center was open till midnight. I called, and the gentleman that answered said they were open till 11 PM. I drove three hours and arrive here at exactly 10 PM. As I approach the front desk as I approach the front desk I could hear the long disappointed sigh. In response, I said I called and you said you guys are open till 11. His response was it is kind of was that it's kind of hard to stay open for one person. That would have made a lot more sense if there hadn't been six people already bowling. I wanted to leave this bowling center the second I walk in. The man working the counter tonight, who looks like he's just out of prison Had nothing short of a non-inviting attitude. If I was his boss, I would fire his ass tonight. People often wonder where our bowling industry get such a bad reputation, but after my experience tonight, I can tell you that many of those seeds are planted right here in Lawton, OK. I did order a beer, And if you can look past the bartender only wearing socks, everything else was just fine. I give them a neutral view only because the bowling in and of it's self was great. The lanes are well cared for, and I had no issues with the pinsetter's. There are something like 18 lanes, and prison boy put me directly next to the only other lane in use. Really? Clearly not a bowler himself. The floor staff needs an attitude overhaul. The maint staff deserves five stars.
