Ever since I have been going to Franz (over a year), he has charged me $25 for my basic haircut and I tip him $5. This last time, he said $35. When I questioned him, he shrugged his shoulders. Shrugging shoulders is NOT an answer. And to think, he doesn't always get the stray hairs that I don't catch until I look at the mirror in my home. To even begin to think his work is worth $35, he would have to do a far better job. I was initially impressed by him because when I suffered a stroke last year, he seemed caring and offered advice. Now, that his weekly revenue wasn't what he expected, he chose to overcharge me. That won't happen again.

If you are a walk-in he advises you of how long or what order you are in. I like that communication with the customer. However, when my turn came up, instead of the barber greeting me and introducing himself and inquiring of my name, I was the one who initiated communication. I said hello, offered my hand for a shake which he received. He asked what I want done. I told him a well blended fade on the sides and to cut some off the top, not much, just smooth it out. Well the hair cut began. The barber showed me how low he had cut, I said ok. He had cut too much but at that point, what could you do but go with it and hope for the best. He began edging me with a razor blade WITHOUT asking if I wanted a razor cut When doing the front hairline, he nicked my forehead twice before I told him to stop using it. He dab at it with his finger but said nothing. Although he had cut off more than I had wanted the cut turn out pretty good except for the uneven fades on each side AND the two knicks to my for head. The Atlanta barbering community is disappointing. Iit is very hard to find a good barber with skills and customer service. am not sure if I will be a repeat customer.

I decided to stop at this shop because it was next door to the Game Stop location that my oldest son wanted to go to. We got there a hour before closing time but the gentleman named Jerome was still happy to take us. Some shops don't like taking walk-ins so close to their closing time but he had no problem accommodating us. The shop was clean and looked well maintained. I was happy to see that they had a reading section with a large selection of books for kids and adults. They also have a summer reading program going on now. I was satisfied with all 3 of our haircuts and will definitely be back when we visit the area again.

Days passed and the new week came, so I decided to give him a call to see what day he was planning to come . His answer was very short " I'm not doing more home services because high cases of Covid." A fair excuse your probable thinking, and you are right. What bothers me is the lack of communication and the lack of respect for everyone else time. A simple I can't or a call to cancel.
