When I called to inquire about walk-in availability, the male receptionist who answered sounded as if he was half-asleep and was very difficult to understand. I genuinely could not make out what he was saying, so I politely asked him to repeat himself. Instead of clarifying, he responded in a blunt and dismissive tone. The whole interaction felt unnecessarily rude and unprofessional. To top it off, right as I was wrapping up the call and saying "okay thank you," he hung up on me before I even finished my sentence. That lack of basic courtesy left a really negative impression. Again, I have no complaints about the doctors or the actual care, but the attitude of the person answering the phones makes a huge difference in how patients perceive the office. First impressions matter, and this one was disappointing.

I have been a patient at LSFP for 25 years. This practice is a shadow of what it once was. The…read moredecline has been gradual, but steady, and has reached a point where I can't recommend avoiding this practice enough. Appointments now consist of basic questions and exams that barely touch the service of issues. My last physical didn't even include a hernia exam, and I'm a 39 year old male with a history of hernias. The nurse practitioners they have on staff are under-qualified at best. The front desk staff are rude, and the intake nurses are also unprofessional. This practice has lost any idea of what customer service means and seems to now be an appointment mill that bills your insurance for telling you to buy some Motrin and get some bed rest. Today was the last straw for us. My wife recently gave birth naturally and our OBGYN recommended we see our PCP for a referral for physical therapy for a month from now to help get her back on her feet and speed her recovery. We called and scheduled an appointment for this specific purpose with the front desk who confirmed that they could give a referral for PT. After waiting for an hour, my wife was seen by a family nurse practitioner that took her temperature and blood pressure, checked her height and weight, eyes and ears, and listened to her breathing. Then, without any examination of her pelvic floor muscles, said that PT 'wasn't indicated' at this time and we should come back for another appointment after our 6 week checkup with our OBGYN for ANOTHER appointment. She explained that we had been sent by the OBGYN to get a referral but the FNP refused to issue the referral and sent her packing. I went in to address this with the front desk and they gave me the run-around, then brought out a 'provider' who first said she had seen my wife but after having me explain the whole situation told me she was just the intake nurse, then asked me to re-explain the situation, then laughed when I said I didn't want to explain myself again and wanted to talk to the actual nurse that had seen my wife. All in all it was a nice hour and fifteen minutes absolutely wasted by the front desk and clinical staff because of their inability to listen and/or be upfront about what services they are willing and able to provide. To LSFP - if you can not or will not offer a service then perhaps your front desk staff shouldn't confirm the appointment for it. Your practice used to be great, and now it is a terrible place to go for care and competent customer service. I've had better customer service at McDonald's. Your front desk staff especially leaves a lot to be desired in the professionalism department. 25 years as a patient and I have never been treated the way I was treated today. We won't be back. Get it together.

Considering it is an urgent clinic and not even being checked in for 45 mins on a non busy morning i felt like I needed to share this experience. Thankfully my condition wasn't too serious. Surely the doctor is wonderful from what I read but he needs a front desk coverage that mirrors his professionalism and skills.

I lost my 33 year old brother from a heart attack due to a hereditary condition so the PA ordered some tests. The results came in, PA left a message so I called back (literally 4-5 different times) and then even asked during a separate visit if there were any concerns about my results. Nearly 7 months later they call to explain the results to me. Turns out that I have some off tests and it took that long. Seriously, when dealing with peoples lives, and tests are off, they should be communicated ASAP. The majority of the front office staff do not seem to have their stuff together and there is a huge language barrier with the nurse who takes my temp and asks questions prior to PA coming. very disappointed...do not recommend this place.

How is it that I am the first reviewer?!?…read more When changing GP after a disastrous experience at Lifetime, the kind folks at Gainesville Pharmacy enthusiastically suggested Dr. Hussny's practice. Coming from Lifetime, where the experience could be rather impersonal, I was very gun shy. But oh, was I thrilled with this find! Dr. Hussny's office harkens back to individualized relationships between doctor and patient. The office is small--three staff members, I believe--and the experience has less of a "big box store" mentality as many larger medical practices do in the area. Dr. Hussny projects a teamwork mentality focused on overall wellness, rather than just strictly dealing with symptoms and transient illnesses. Seeing a doctor with an approach that looks at all aspects--short, medium, and long term--sometimes can seem a rarity given our 10 minute appointment times with healthcare professionals. I didn't realize just how much I'd missed a solid doctor/patient relationship until I had Dr. Hussny in front of me, giving me that time and never making me feel rushed. The waiting area is a little small, but with only one practitioner seeing patients, it shouldn't be too crowded. And while the building is fairly nondescript, it certainly didn't impact my experience negatively. I'd gladly recommend Dr. Hussny for all your GP needs.

As for regular appointments the doctor is usually running a bit behind, I won't lie, but I like him so much I don't mind waiting. In fact I'm not the only one who likes him, my whole family does. I've been extremely impressed with the care I've received from both the doctors and their staff. In their Herndon location, they even have onsite ability to conduct standard serum testing. This streamlining for me is coupled with the extremely generous amount of time that doctors spend during appointments. I feel that the concierge practice model has provided care far exceeding what my old local medical practice had become after losing a few key physicians through retirement. I'm not sure if they are accepting new patients, but if Lifetime Internal Medicine is, I highly advise trying this 'small' team concierge solution as a return to times when medicine was practiced by Doctors instead of Doctors applying a one-size-fits-all template strategy for the codified roll-out of big-med:-)
