We were travelling from Australia. Our room and the ambiance of the house is tasteful and cosy with a stunning art collection, soft music and a beautiful peaceful garden. It is a refuge away from the busyness of the city. The breakfasts are to die for and the happy hour was an opportunity to socialise and network which is helpful when the city is new to you. For me the two friendly resident pet dogs were a bonus as I was missing my own. I can't recommend the Red Tree House enough.

But after my stay here, I can say they were absolutely right!!! This is the most perfect hotel/B&B EVER. I'm so glad I stayed here over other soulless hotels that were cheaper. From the first welcome to the last goodbye, every staff member here has made us feel so warm and cared for. Breakfast: This was my absolute favorite part -- I usually don't care for hotel breakfasts because I'm always on the go, but once I had the first bite, I moved our itinerary around so that we could get their breakfast every morning! They start around 7am with the bread and coffee, but the hot breakfasts start at 8am and end at 10am. I got to try chilaquiles, enchiladas, and enmoladas while I was here, and they really make them with heart and soul! These were the best things I ate during my trip to Mexico City! Also really loved the outside garden in the mornings with all the greenery and birds chirping. Location: in the heart of La Condesa, walking distance to Roma Norte, both neighborhoods were great for strolling through parks and art galleries. We ubered to other places further away and it was so cheap and convenient. Rooms: We stayed here for 4 nights and went to Oaxaca for 3, then back to the Red Tree House for the last night, and both rooms we had were cozy and comfy, with AC. They have great shampoo/conditioner and shower gel, amazing water pressure and temperature, everything was so clean, and I got to sit outside in the balcony and took it slow for the last morning we were there. Housekeeping was amazing, everything was perfect when we came back every night. Safety: They lock their front doors and the front gate so you need your key to get in, and there's a safe in every room. Happy Hour every night 6-8PM: This was such an unexpected bonus! I didn't even plan for us to be at the hotel during those hours because I wanted to see everything in CDMX, but it ended up raining during those hours and we went to one, and it was so much fun chitchatting with other like-minded travelers who shared what they loved about their trip -- We ended up going to a few more & got so many tips from other guests! The hotel dogs Romeo & Booz - I love them and miss them so much! Side note: I LOOOOVED all the art work and interior design and colors. Felt like I was in an art gallery but at the same time so comfortable at a friend's home. HIGHLY recommend!!! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!!

We stayed five nights and specifically chose this place based on the reviews relative to service…read more We went with high hopes and the staff there was amazing. Dafne was exceptional - we communicated via email prior to our arrival. She helped arrange a car pick up at the airport and also helped us book a couple massages, setting it up in an empty room as a surprise for my husband. The massages were heavenly by the way. Juliana was also amazing- she gave us fantastic recommendations on where to eat locally, and always offering to help when we needed it. A few notes about Casa Goliana - It is gated and they have 24 hour security that let you in. Area is safe and this seems standard for bed and breakfast in the area. It is one flight of stair up to the reception area. We were in a King Suite which was another flight up - stairs were fine for us, but a consideration if you have mobility issues. Location is great - a few blocks from Collima which is where all the great restaurants are and not far from Parque Espana which is a great place to walk around. Noise level - a number of reviews state this place can be loud. When we stayed, we were one of 2 rooms there. It is an old house that has been converted to a B&B - I think a total of 9 rooms. Creaky floors in some spots, and the wardrobe in the room was loud if you didn't attempt to soft close the doors. However, it didn't bother us and since we normally pack ear plugs when we travel so we had no issues with a sound sleep. Bed was really comfy by the way. Breakfast was quaint - the tamale offering is excellent - still thinking about it.

It was close to the neighborhood we wanted to stay in, so I would call it a win. They only have 8 rooms, which makes it a great BnB. The receptionists and doormen we've had the pleasure of meeting were all amazing. They were so kind and welcoming. The only downfall is the AC unit. We had sleepless nights because of it. In the middle of the night it would start making a buzzing noise, and not the kind of white noise you can sleep through either. It also didn't feel that cool at night, it was kind of humid. We didn't complain because everyone is so nice there! Hence the 4 stars for the AC... The place is homey and beautifully decorated. The mister and I really enjoyed our stay. We would definitely recommend it. There's plenty of places to walk around the area too. We used Uber, so it was convenient. It's only a 20 minute drive to and from the airport.

It was great to meet other travelers over breakfast and share our experiences in this amazing city. I felt like I staying in an art gallery and I probably ended up with more photos of the property than the city. I have recommended this place to everyone I know who is planning to visit Mexico City.

Adjacent to the dining area is a glass wall facing the small outdoor patio. Staff: Jackie was the main feature. Her warmth and cheer made us feel welcome and at home. It was our first time in Mexico City, far from fluent in Spanish, her availability and positive spirits were particularly appreciated. The kitchen staff were pleasant. Breakfast was standard: sliced fruit, toast, juice and a warmer main dish. The weekend fare was a bit fresher and tastier. Transportation: it was located 3 long blocks from a metro and directly in front of a bus line. With the connections, going to the city center is about 20 min. We opted to walk, which was about 25 min at a moderate place. So if you want to be away from the bustle, and be able to stumble across cute coffee shops and eateries, this is a good spot. Rooms: the room we chose felt very cramped. We chose the bedroom with 2 beds, advertised as larger than we expected, thinking the sleeping arrangement would be easier on our different travel body clocks. But we do not recommend it - go for another room if you plan to stay more than a couple nights. We peaked into the others and they were significantly larger.

First time staying at this hotel while on business trip with a side of museum visits (Soumaya and…read moreAnthropology). This is the best hotel I've stayed at in CDMX on approximately 30+ trips here. This includes the W (nope), Westin (uh-uh), Sheraton (chaos, if there's a demonstration - and there usually is one ongoing), even the St. Regis, Ritz-Carlton and JW Marriott - all too stuffy. Santiago from NJ, by way of the NYU Shanghai campus, was excellent and almost everyone here speaks English perfectly. I felt like I was in NYC, except that the service was better and the staff was much more accommodating. Breakfast was included, nothing spectacular, but everything was solid, good coffee, fresh fruit, fresh pastries, good jams and yogurt. Perfect, light start to the day. The room was not big, but well laid out with every amenity, refrigerator, beverages, Nespresso machine, bottled water and a selection of assorted snacks - all complimentary (except alcohol, unnecessary with all the good bars nearby). The gym was literally situated in a single hotel room on the lower floor. It was tiny, but fully equipped for a one-person, HIIT session. The single issue was the incessant bass drone from the bar nearby. Earplugs didn't work because it wasn't possible to mask the low Hz frequency effectively. Every major museum was about a 25 minute stroll through scenic neighborhoods to get to. Some of the best restaurants (Nobu, Sylvestre) were around the corner. All in all this is probably the best place to stay in CDMX. If not for the bass from the bar, which was totally not the hotel's fault, this was probably the quietest hotel I've ever stayed in Mexico (no children or pets, I think, but not sure). No drunk teens shouting in the hallways - idyllic. About $500-$700/night depending on date. Totally worth it.

And a good friend of mine, when doing tours of Mexico, chooses it, made me want to try it. Walking distance from the Line 1 Metrobus on Insurgentes is a big plus. Ditto its proximity to both Roma and Condesa neighborhoods. Reasonably priced, and perfect for my solo visit. A firm but not uncomfortably hard bed (hard beds can be an issue in Mexico. Hotels buy harder beds to last longer and it can be like sleeping on concrete. Good WiFi. Lots of electric outlets. A great shower with almost immediate hot water. I was once in a hotel or two in Puebla where one had to run the water so long for the hot water to travel to the room that one felt very guilty about wasting all of that water. I loved the walk-in shower because of its ample space and found that this room, number 205, for a single traveler, had an incredible amount of space for me to lay out all the stuff that I had to lay out. Another plus was the plastic garbage bucket which I was able to fill with water and do daily washing of my clothes because I had forgot to pack enough. And in this particular room, everything dried overnight. Dryness. Make sure you've got drinking water. The fan worked fine and I did not have any need for air conditioning. The month was April. All in all, although I am trying a different hotel every two nights in order to find ones to recommend, I would stay here again, but I would probably book a junior suite as traveling with my wife would mandate a larger room for sure.

It's a hugely busy street, with buses, garbage trucks, police, ambulances, and all kinds of other loud automobiles roaring by at all hours. Every time a large car rumbles by, the entire hotel shakes. The room had no air conditioning, was rather spartan, and no screens over the window. Watch out after a long night of drinking tequila! The small fan in the room was nowhere near ample to keep things cool here. It was horrible. The second room was much nicer- for an additional surcharge, you can upgrade to a room with an air conditioner! It had a large Jacuzzi, and a television. This room faced Calle Popocatapetl, which is a much less busy street, so things were quieter. The lights all worked, and the TV had limited reception, with about a dozen channels. The sink and the toilet got clogged easily. The staff at the hotel was on the ball- they were helpful and courteous. The prices were quite low. The internet was out much of the time, and when it worked, it was spotty and slow. The hotel has a restaurant on site, and the place was clean. They take credit cards. Hotel Roosevelt is located right next to a bus stop, but not too close to the subway. It's in a cool neighborhood, and there's lots of fun places to eat and drink nearby.

Stayed here for 6 nights and had an overall decently comfortable stay. Would stay here again!…read more Arriving around 2pm via Uber, there was a short wait at the front desk for check in; the line itself took 7-8 minutes and then check-in took about 15 minutes. It was a tad slow for my preference though I understand systems at each hotel and norms for expedience vary since NYC runs at breakneck speed. A room was not ready, though they gave us the key cards first, so we dropped off our luggage with the concierge and left the hotel to grab lunch. After returning, we approached the concierge who asked for our room number and brought the luggage up to the room. Three elevators bring guests up to the guest room levels, with a long corridor extending in one direction with about 46-50 rooms in the same hallway. Entering the room, the bathroom is immediately to the right within, probably 10x8 feet, pretty good sized with a single sink and shower (no tub). Hairdryer, basic bath amenities (shower cap, sewing kit), three sets of clean, fluffy bath towels, a bath mat, hand/body soap, lotion, shampoo and conditioner by Eleven Australia. Water pressure was moderate and not super strong, water temperature was consistent throughout our stay. The only couple small issues were: 1) the bathroom sink was leaking a little so when you turned on the faucet you could feel tiny splashes onto your toes. It wasn't a huge issue so we didn't say anything, just kinda dealt with it. 2) the bathroom fan is quite loud, though works well, and turns on every time you turn on the bathroom light. To the left of the room entry was a good-sized closet, with ironing board, iron, maybe 8-10 wooden hangers, a plastic laundry bag with instructions on how to use their laundry service. Full body mirror available on the inside of one of the closet doors. Room safe also available though we didn't use it. Walking into the rest of the room, a combo TV console/drawer/shelf wall unit was positioned at the front of the room, with a mini fridge (empty) inside a lower cabinet. The TV (maybe 46"?) was affixed to this unit at a slight angle, though perfectly ok for bedtime watching. Directly under the TV was a designated space for luggage; a foldable small luggage rack was also available. There's a desk with multiple outlets nearby and a small coffee table with lounge chair. The king-sized bed was comfortable, they gave 4 fluffy down pillows, and while they weren't super supportive, definitely much better than a lot of other hotels. Sheets were clean and pressed, they give an "environmentally friendly" card to place on your bed if you want the sheets changed. The room had good air circulation even though the windows don't open, maybe too good. Since it was a chilly January (40ish degrees Fahrenheit at night) we actually couldn't figure out how to turn the fan off because it got cold at night. There was an extra blanket in the closet which we didn't use since we hadn't noticed it until the day before leaving. This seems to be a pretty popular hotel with tour groups, we saw many groups checking in and out while we were there. All our interactions with the staff at the hotel were positive or neutral, they seemed pretty courteous, the cleaning ladies would say hi passing you in the hall, the doormen would greet you when you entered the hotel. The neighborhood around the hotel felt safe and comfortable to explore. Surprisingly a lot of Korean restaurants nearby. Not sure if there is parking though don't recommend driving due to the traffic congestion in CDMX.
