District Dive is part of a 3 bar complex along with Southern Nights and Stiffy's, all located within the same building. It's a bit odd that all 3 bars are interconnected via open doorways inside, but you cannot pass from District Dive into Southern Nights unless you have a wristband, which one can only obtain by going outside the building completely, then back in through security. Also, you cannot go into Stiffy's with a drink you've purchased at one of the other bars, yet District Dive seems to allow anyone from Southern Nights or Stiffy's to enter with no conditions at all. Strange. Another slight oddity is that District Dive stops serving at 2 a.m. just like every other bar in Orlando, but they almost immediately bring up the lights and security starts barking at people to leave. We've been to other places in this city where they'll either give last call 10 minutes before closing so patrons have plenty of time to finish beverages they've purchased, or they'll stop bar sales at 2, but keep the place open for a while and even keep the music going so patrons can have time to finish their drinks and leave on their own. Beyond that, District Dive is a somewhat unique concept for a gay bar. It looks like a true dive, with posters and playbills plastered on the walls, a pool table, dart games and plenty of TVs for watching sports and other programming. Vibrant, good energy, relaxing, safe space, great drinks, perfect place to hang out with friends. I enjoy going there with my partner. Nonetheless, some bartenders (not all of them) appear to dislike working there, most notably Jeff M. He looked angry and not welcoming. His gestures and demeanor towards the patrons were unfriendly. More specifically, when I went for a third drink, I asked for the drink, and his response was, "I know, I know... I know what you are drinking." - He seemed angry. I was aware that he was busy and overwhelmed, and my request was friendly and made with a smile. I went to another bartender to get my next drink.  This other bartender was totally the opposite of Jeff M. He was friendly, welcoming, and funny--a marked improvement in his demeanor. Bartenders are the face of the establishment. They could be the deciding factor in your decision to no longer frequent the bar, or they could make you feel welcome and entice you to return. I've traveled to many gay bars throughout the nation, and the first thing I look forward to is meeting friendly and outgoing bartenders. A smile goes a long way. By the way, it is not the first time I've seen Jeff M.; I've seen him before with the same poor attitude. I would not tell people not to go there, but if Jeff M is your bartender, look for another one. It is good to get their names so they can get to know you better.  I am a good tipper, but this time I did not go out of my way to tip him well. read more

Even though this place hasn't been open for long, it's becoming one of my favorite places to grab a drink. Anytime I've been here the crowd is easy going, the bartenders are attentive and the atmosphere is comfortable. No attitude. They have nightly drink specials which is great! The atmosphere and people who come here are great. It's a relaxed, no pressure atmosphere and people always seem to be having a good time. It can get very crowded at times, but everyone is friendly and accommodating. Most of the bartenders, and bar backs, however, are very unwelcoming and grumpy. Getting a drink can be challenging and even when you do, it's an unpleasant experience. There are exceptions-a couple of the bartenders are nice so you have to hope they are working and seek them out. A group of friends have been meeting here every weekend, but we go less often now. read more

I was so so excited for a sports-oriented bar, especially an LGBTQ+ friendly one. Alas this is just a gay bar with cha-cha music and some sportsball on some TVs. Went tonight excited to not just watch my team play in a bowl game but also to be around my LGBTQ+ tribe. Sure: games were on but couldn't hear over Brit-Donna-Cher music blasting. This is basically a room at Southern Nights, not a distinct space to reach out to different demographics within our community. Massive missed opportunity to broaden appeal, not remain stereotypically focused. At least Southern Craft veered away from the cha-cha-ness. This was my first time coming To this bar and it was very welcoming. I was carded at the door, and at the time i came it was very dead. Only a two or three other parties when we arrived. I was quickly served and checked on regularly throughout my visit. I hit this bar in an effort to complete the local 'milk district's beer week bingo game! It was a fun excuse to try to this local bar i hadn't had the chance to catch yet. The bartender was friendly, and there was onsite parking in order to get to the bar easily. If you are a sports person, there are MANY televisions as pictured in my photos, and the customers coming in were wearing jerseys of football teams so I imagine this caters to the sports crowd, especially in its location. There are bathrooms and a cute light decal In the hallway of the bathrooms that would make for a cute photo moment. Overall the vibe was nice and the drinks were reasonably priced, looking forward to visiting this bar again! read more

I was so happy to come out and celebrate my friend visiting from NYC, but the bartender Anthony kinda ruined my vibe tonight! I found out it was 2-4-1 drinks so I was like "yay! Let me get my friends drinks then". We both ordered Tito's singles, (never do a double at a gay bar)! Anthony seemed pre-occupied a lot by a group of gays that clearly was his friends, and was doing shots with them. Hey! I'm all for a good time, but ya gotta balance time and make sure everyone is helped. After 6 drinks total, 2-4-1 drinks, I get my bill which was almost $52 dollars. The math just didn't seem to add up, so I asked Anthony what was the reason for the price, if we got 2-4-1 special. He said I've been pouring you doubles all night. 1) I asked for a singles specifically 2) I always ask for diet cola on the side cause I'm a light weight 3) just because your friends were getting doubles, that's not what I asked for. The one thing I absolutely hate about bars is the feeling of being ripped off by bartenders. I'm not a big drinker but I always tip generously cause I'm in the industry too. I felt like I was completely ripped off by Anthony, and his response was "oh sorry", as he went back to socialize with his friends. I still tipped Anthony, but I wont go back to him again.
