I went in today for a cleaning as a new patient and I had an excellent experience! The office and facility is clean & equipment seems new. Sabrina did my dental cleaning and honestly was amazing! I have been coming to District Dental for almost two years now, and I can't believe it has taken me this long to write a review! I used to absolutely hate going to the dentist, but that has all changed with District Dental. Sabrina is without a doubt the best dental hygienist I have ever had. Not only is she incredibly good at her job, but she is also so fun to talk with it. She is always in such a good mood, and somehow makes being poked and prodded with dental tools into an enjoyable experience. She always remembers everything about my teeth, even when I haven't been in months, and also gives me tips on cool places to try out in the heights, which is also great! I decided to switch dentists from a local "designer" dentist because I was tired of the up charging and constant doctor turnover. The review looked good so I gave it a shot and it looks like found my new dentist. The office staff is very professional and I only waited a minute of two before heading back. My hygienist Sabrina was amazing - very personable, a thorough cleaning, and near painless experience (poking and prodding at the gums is never fun, but this was the easiest time I can remember). IF YOU HAVE TEETH YOU NEED TO READ THIS!!! Ok so now that I have your attention, here's the deal, I would rather run a mile in spanx and 4" heels, than go to the dentist. I would rather be stuck in traffic on 290 at 5pm on a Friday for 3hrs, than go to the dentist. I would rather give up wine for one whole year, than go to the dentist...(j/k, yeah right...come on) anyways, I hate the dentist ya'll...but I LOVED THIS DENTIST! I was pulled into this office kicking and screaming by the annual requirements of my insurance provider, but I will gladly be walking back in regularly BY CHOICE (you don't know me but trust me that's HUGE). EVERYONE was suuuuuper friendly & helpful (one of the lovely ladies even let me have her spot out front when I couldn't find a place to park) and I honestly had such a great time. I haven't laughed that much during an appointment of any kind EVER. They were quick and nice and YES, they were definitely aware of my fast and loose approach to flossing, but no judgement, no lecture, just "we'll help you get your teeth back up to snuff, no worries". Ugh, if this dentist office was a bar, it would be the Cheers of bars. I honestly might just go hang out there, it was that fun. Anyways, I digress. If you care about your teeth, are being forced to go against your will by your HR representative, or if you could care less about your dental health and HR rep, but you're in the heights area, go in and make an appointment. A group of wonderful, thoughtful people. They always work with my insurance to make sure my treatment plan is as economical as possible. Dr. Thomas takes so much pride in her work and even asked me if she could do a complimentary tweak to a filling she did because it didn't look absolutely perfect. I especially love my hygienist Sabrina. She has personality for days, and she's the kind of hygienist who remembers how to make you happy-you like a blanket when you come in, that flavor toothpaste makes you gag, or, in my case, she gets the topical numbing gel out before she even sits down with me because she knows I'm a big baby (but she never makes a big deal out of it or makes me feel uncomfortable like she is going out of her way). Prior to visiting District Dental, I avoided going to the dentist at all costs. I was terrified of going and dreaded getting my teeth cleaned. Finally after about a five year boycott, I decided to give District Dental a try. They had tons of wonderful reviews and people seemed to really "enjoy" going. After walking in the door I soon realized what all hype was about. From the front staff to the hygienists/dentist, everyone was so welcoming and friendly. Everyone was very knowledgable and made me feel so comfortable while there. Prior to my visit, I literally had googled worst case scenarios with teeth and gums, so needless to say, I was quite nervous. They were great and put my worries to rest! I personally have seen Kelly and Sabrina (dental hygienists) and they are both FABULOUS! I've had some not so ideal experiences at different dental office in the past, but not with these two! They are both so friendly and easy to talk to. They do a great job of cleaning and definitely do not make you feel guilty about things (especially when you haven't been in 5 years like me). Dr. V is outstanding and put me at ease at my initial visit. I've been to dentists in the past where I felt like they were trying to push things on me or used threatening tactics when it came to my dental care. This is definitely not the case here! Looking a add a solid dentist to my arsenal of Houston-based medical practitioners, I went to District Dental after reading the great reviews. This office offered everything I was looking for. The space is super clean, the instruments are all top-of-the-line, the staff is very sweet and Dr. V was very professional, well-informed and perfectly personable. The x-Ray process was quick and painless and the cleaning was too (thanks to the pressure washer instrument, there was minimal scraping). I also loved that there was no upsell like I've experienced at other places. Dr. V reviewed my x-rays and told me my teeth were in good shape and he also did the cleaning himself. I LOVE this place... well, as far as dentists go. The hygienists are always sweet and VERY thorough. Dr. V is really great and pays very close attention to your concerns. I had been going here for the past 2 years and this last visit he redid my front teeth fillings because they were getting yellow around the edges. He spent so much time on them to make sure that they looked flawless. You can't even tell I have front fillings anymore. Beware of the fluoride application. I am one of those people that dreads going to the dentist and because of that I was way way overdue. I had to get a temporary crown a couple of weeks ago and went back today to get the permanent crown and a deep cleaning. What a great experience. The staff is so friendly, professional and caring. Dr. Thomas has the perfect bedside manner and was fast and thorough. This place is very professionally run. Marina performed the deep cleaning which had the potential to be a grueling experience, but she made it easy. My mouth has never been in better shape. Get in while you can, folks - this dentist is a real gem. They're relatively new to the area (about 2 years old) so it was easy for me to conveniently book an appointment online, 2 weeks out, at exactly my preferred time. In-person the staff was just wonderfully friendly, especially for a Monday! I've been to the offices before that are out to emphasize surgery, whitening, invisalign, etc, but I didn't get a sense that District Dental is a product pusher. Lucky to have found my dentist in the Heights and close to home! PLUS they give you free chapstick at the checkout counter - uhhhh because what else could you possibly want at the end of your visit?? The entire appointment including new hire paperwork, x-rays, cleaning, and the doctor exam took about 2 hours. However, once I walked in the front door I was never unattended by staff for more than 5 minutes. I was very appreciative of their concern for my time given I was on my lunch "hour," and the overall experience as far as customer service and results was excellent. I was told that their office is usually closed on Mondays and open for 1/2 days on Fridays. read more

Well let me start by saying I have been going here for two years... two years that I trusted the doctor and his staff to take care of my teeth because I had previously been to a place who scammed me into a deep clean when they didn't actually do a deep cleaning procedure. However, more recently I have realized that these people are also trying to scheme and get their patients to spend more money then they need to. So disappointing because I actually did like this place. But when I started asking question about why I was getting charged for extra stuff... they just kept saying they communicated it to me 2 years ago.. then when I continued to express my concern about the extra procedures they were providing that I did not need, the admin team just kept saying their was a miscommunication and that I should continue having the procedure because my insurance would be concerned for me if I didn't yet my insurance doesn't cover the extra procedure. So again, this admin was trying to convince me that I needed the extra procedure going forward on every visit because if not my insurance would be concerned for me, yet, my insurance doesn't cover the extra charge. To wrap this up, although the dentist and the hygienist are fine... the fact that they charge you and schedule you for procedures you don't need nor are warranted without communicating a medical reason is where I draw the line. It felt forced and like I do not have a choice. At this point this feels like another money hungry dental practice and I will have to move on and continue my search for a dental practice that 1) is good at their job 2) are honest and upfront and don't try any "sneaky" tactics to charge you more. read more

This was our first time here and our visit was nothing short of exceptional! We were greeted as soon as we entered, filled out all the paperwork digitally on an iPad (which is awesome) and promptly taken back for our appointment.
