Since posting my original Yelp review, the owner of the studio, Ms. Vidovich, has repeatedly tried…read moreto discredit my posting regarding an extremely disturbing incident that occurred on February 22, 2014 at her dance studio where one of the teachers threatened to pull down the pants of three 5-7 year old boys during the 11 a.m. Hip Hop for boys class. I did email with Ms. Vidovich regarding this incident when it happened in February and she responded to my email, so she is aware of what happened as well as aware of my identity. She did offer me a refund for the remaining amount since I did not feel comfortable having my child continue in a class where threats of humiliation towards 5-7 year old children were allowed. I repeat my concern to other parents that based on the actions of the teacher in the class and the lack of concern by the studio owner, I would NOT recommend this studio.

I enrolled my child in two back-to-back classes for $740 under the impression--based on how the trial was advertised--that we could cancel after the first two weeks if it wasn't a good fit. Unfortunately, the instruction during those initial classes was minimal, and my child felt uncomfortable enough that she didn't want to continue. When I requested a refund after the second class, I was told it wasn't possible because I had signed the contract prior to week one, even though I was not informed that payment and signing could be delayed until after the trial period. This key detail was never made clear at the time of enrollment. Instead of a refund, I was offered a store credit. I explained I wouldn't be able to use it until fall 2025, and at the time, they verbally agreed this would be acceptable. However, when I recently tried to register for fall or winter classes, I was told the credit had expired--and I was only being offered half of the original amount. In short, the policies feel overly rigid and not clearly communicated, and the follow-through on verbal agreements has been inconsistent. I hope the studio reconsiders how it handles these situations in the future.

I was drawn here after taking a class from Mourien sponsored by the apartment complex I am living in. Mourien is super energetic and her enthusiasm is contagious. Her steps are unique compared to other classes I have been to. They are fun and easy to follow. Her studio is conveniently across the street from the apartment and right next to the very tempting brusters icecream parlor. It is a large dance space with a child care room and changing rooms. The space was essentially packed with devoted Zumba enthusiasts for the Saturday morning class with Mourien. Again, her dance moves were fun and I barely noticed that I was drenched until after the class. Classes can be purchased per class, packages (6, 12, 18), or unlimited monthly. Try the drop in class for $7 with Mourien and I bet you will be hooked.

The two groups were not split during the night for the dance instruction or activities. For pizza it was not planned to give each kid 2 slices, come on its dominoes pizza give the kids 2 slices. Each kid received 1 slice and then my daughter asked for a second where they responded were not sure everybody can get a second slice. To fix this, the pizza was cut into smaller slices. The movie choice of Leap was great. The popcorn was great. A bit more division by age, skill, and plan to give each kid at least 2 slices of dominoes pizza.
