When we asked for the manager he said we were wasting his time and he "didn't have time to deal with this"... and then insulted me as a mother asking why I wasn't feeding my child .. literally seconds after tue nachos finally appeared. Just a side note, he came out in nasty food covered gloves, that's he slammed on our table, when he "insulted us" and then went straight back into the kitchen, gross!! I had been wanting to visit this place for awhile. I was disappointed and won't be going back. While the atmosphere was awesome, the service was TERRIBLE. We ordered crawfish. The crawfish were hard and seasoned after they came out of the water. The bartender was very aloof and not attentive at all. She never told us we had to take our ticket over to get the crawfish and we waited nearly an hour before finally asking about our order. The drinks were terrible. They advertised a free pound of crawfish for military. I showed my military ID and they still charged me for the "free" pound. I wouldn't return and do not recommend anyone waste their time here. Loved this place!!!! They have amazing burgers and crawfish!!! I love the fact that they have awesome games for all ages; they have from amazing games of pool to volleyball, and then at night they have great music, I loved it. There aren't enough signs indicating right of way, so it's confusing trying to drive up the long paths to & from the highway to reach the restaurant itself. Also, beware: There are tons of giant potholes! You have to slowly zigzag around them to avoid popping a tire. In the dining areas, tables & chairs aren't wiped down timely & the floor isn't swept well. There was sauce residue & glitter all over the first table we picked, spilled beer, chips, and crawfish shells on the second bench we chose. Just gross! SERVICE: The servers are overwhelmed, maybe understaffed or poorly managed. We kept losing our waitress in the crowds, and she barely checked on us... It was a warm day, and we had to keep getting up to refill our own waters at the bar. We ordered crawfish, and we had to stand in a line to pick up our mudbugs, handed to you in a bucket, from a booth outside. The line was long & the wait agonizing. They ran out twice, but we didn't want to lose our place so we stood in line for half an hour. Meanwhile, the rest of our food (appetizers & drinks) got stale & melted down at our table, since they were brought out unattended while we were in line. I don't understand doing this versus having the server deliver the crawfish to the table directly; it just creates chaos & inconvenience for the customer. FOOD QUALITY & PRICES: -Crawfish were $6.99 per pound, and that does not include sides. One mini corn and/or 2 tiny potatoes are $1 extra (EACH)! So, crawfish with fixins end up being $9 a pound... More than double what is common elsewhere. To add insult to injury, they are stingy with the portions, precisely weighing the crawfish before they hand you the bucket, deliberately withholding the one or two lonely crawdads left in the scoop, just so they don't give you any more than you've paid for. And, you're not paying for much. The crawfish sizes are inconsistent, most of them miniature & disappointing. They are served in a pool of melted butter & hot sauce (something to be wary of if you prefer dry). -Other food was blah. Example: You get a mountain of chips with barely any meat or toppings and they call it "nachos." -Cocktails go for around $10-$12 and are nothing special, either... You might fare better sticking to beer & fries as your meal, because the prices we paid for what we ordered were absolutely NOT WORTH IT. As a first time customer, I'm not the least bit impressed. Don't waste your time or money. We there for the first time for a cover band, $40, never got to see the band. So poorly run, so much confusion and chaos. No one knows what they are doing. Sawyer Park and Little Woodrows do amazing events, go there instead. They put a high school level knowledge girl, Celine, in charge of reservations. She's clueless. She reserved us a table for dinner supposedly, I have text messages to prove it. When we got there, we were showed to our table. About an hour later some neanderthal comes up yelling at us saying this isn't our table. It had my name on it mind you, and I had texts showing we had a table reserved for dinner....and we were told by staff when we go there that this was our table. But not, they didn't want to hear about how massive their mistake had been. We still had two people eating dinner when the neanderthal said if you don't leave this table we will throw you out. I told him we would leave once our friends were done eating. That wasn't good enough, they escorted us out. Of course we paid for our food and drinks even though we weren't allowed to finish them. And of course we all paid $40 each for a concert we never got to see. Such chaos, such poor management and such insanity...don't bother to go there. Go somewhere that people actually know what they are doing. Maybe next time they shouldn't put "Celine" who know's nothing, in charge of an event's reservations. Utterly pathetic. read more

Had a HORRIBLE experience here over the weekend. We never got our drinks that we ordered and the plate of nachos we ordered took over two hours. The service was awful. When we asked to speak with the manager he literally screamed at us that "we were wasting his time"... My jaw dropped when he said that. Sold right off the bat! I'd been hearing about this spot, especially the crawfish & patio and figured why not check it on Cinco de Mayo!! LOL I've gotta say I wasn't disappointed. This review is for Monday night's crawfish boil. They offer really cheap crawfish at about $4 a pound. We had gone on a regular priced night and had a nice time. But this evening... Yeah! Nope. Still the same crappy service. We sat for almost 15 minutes before I tracked someone down to take our drink orders. The place was not that busy yet. Don't expect them to check on you too often. Horrible way to serve crawfish. The guy that does the cooking was 45 minutes late, so the start of service didn't happen until almost 6pm instead of 5. You order and then go stand in line with your ticket. I stood over 30 minutes in that line. THIRTY MINUTES! Yep, the lady in front of me drank 2 beers while we waited. My godson, who I was dining with, sat alone at the table. And we waited. And waited and waited... All the while the 6 or 7 waiters brought people buckets of beer and bar food. Or stood inside by the bar to place orders via computer or get drinks. There is NO REASON why the waiters could not bring the crawfish as well. None. There is no reason why patrons should have to leave their dining companions alone for 30 minutes to stand in line for crawfish. If you own this place please know a lot of folks who stood in that line with me will not be returning. Your crawfish are not any better than any other place in town. Did someone say CRAWFISH??? This place is super cool and super huge. The inside is very spacious with tons of seating and several bars. There are regular tables/chairs and high tables/chairs. There is a small arcade area with about 4 pool tables and a small area beside that for private events. The private events area is upstairs. The best part to me was the outside patio area. Again, tons of seating, little fire pits in the middle of the table for cooler nights, a dj, another bar, crawfish stand and a volleyball court. Hint: If you order crawfish, the waitress will bring you a ticket. Then, you'll have to take that ticket to the crawfish stand to pick up your mudbugs, grab your butter & spices, have a seat & enjoy. What kind of dirtbag lies about his military service on Memorial Day, the day we honor those who gave their lives in service of our great nation? Look no further than Robert J, who claims he was a "Navy MP" who deployed on the USSN Enterprise. He spun a yarn about how his job was to wait to get the call to go break up fights when the ship docked in ports of call all over the world. He claims he got his bad conduct discharge because a former President was "letting everybody go" and they happened to flag him for not disclosing his "bad knees" after two years of supposed globetrotting on the ship. His entire story is horse manure from word 1. First of all, there is no such thing as a Navy MP. A Navy service member using that term would be like a squid calling himself a grunt or a jarhead. It's inconceivable. An MP is Army or Air Force ONLY, and they ONLY work on military bases. In the Navy, the designation is something different---night and day different---and it is a specialty which requires a particular, distinct course of training and education for land duties and a separate course of training for sea duties. Mr. J. doesn't know what that specialty is called in the Navy, its duties, his rank, his MOR, or even at which home port the Enterprise was docked before she was decommissioned. And nope, none of that info is "classified," which is what Stolen Valor creeps always try to claim when they're stumped on info they would know if they weren't lying. You can go online and see at least three websites which list every single deployment, location, and dates the Enterprise ever sailed, their support ships and objectives, and personnel rosters. Robert was never deployed---and every other MA/SP who ever served on board can be found. This goofball who claims he was dishonorably discharged after two years because of his recruiter and a former President (it's ALWAYS someone else's fault) is flat-out lying and stealing for himself the honor for which REAL sailors and soldiers gave their lives to protect our freedom. And what for? The thanks and admiration of old ladies and people at a bar? Two of his neighbors flat out caught him in this dungpile of lies and his response was to bully me, with my chronic health problems, into having to move. The other one who saw through his Stolen Valor keeps their distance and maintains a superficially friendly facade because they've seen the lengths he will go to when he realizes his lies have been spotted, and they don't want to face the same problems with him that I did. I don't blame them. All I did was roll my eyes and laugh, and he bullied and lied about me until I was forced to move. Nobody wants to tangle with a giant person who will lie about anything and force people out of their homes to preserve his lie. There are plenty of other bars which respect our servicemen and women and respect our military. There are some things worth a lot more than beer and crawfish. I hope District 2.4.9. finds their American values one day, but until then, I will be telling everyone I know what happened because of your dishonorable employee. read more

It's still the same sort of hang out / patio bar service you'd expect. The last time I came it wasn't really a fun experience as we had to wait a while for some crawfish. However, they do have a dog friendly patio, and some cool games to play out back. Volleyball courts, kickball, and some baseball are a few of the games that people play here. Overall it's not so bad. Draft beer is available, which is what I love. However, it might be served in a plastic cup. I understand that due to the virus they can't serve glasses though. If you want a night of having glass bottles, this is your place. Some of the bartenders might even give you a discount if they know you well. I just come here because everyone is friendly and I like to watch a little local volleyball. Come here if you want some good crawfish, but be prepared to wait a while if you want some. Other food is available, but I usually just come to hang out and enjoy the nice people. Sometimes I even run into some folks from high school as it is really close to some old stomping grounds. Great spot we found. They have lots of screens to catch football on while enjoying food or drinks with friends. The food was pretty good but the Philly Steak has got to have more cheese, use cheez whiz, French fries where on point, food was good and prices not bad at all. Got to go Whiz on Philly though... Have been coming here for a couple years. Play in sports leagues every Tuesday and Sunday. Come in one night with a picture of my ID as I am waiting for my new ID to come in, and get screamed at by the bouncer to "get the fuck out". Attempted to tell the bouncer "I'm here every Tuesday and Sunday for sports leagues" and his response was: "I don't give a fuck, I'm not here on Tuesdays. So get the fuck out of here" (yelling & flexing at me lol) Absolutely 0 class. Not a way to treat longtime customers who spend hundreds of dollars on sports leagues ever other month & a hundred + on drinks each weekend. Will never go back. I would recommend trying little Woodrows, 2 minutes down the road where everybody is treated with class and respect. read more

The first night the waiter was rarely seen and did not even put in an order of two people when he took an order of ten others. The ten others was completely finished eating dinner before the other two was even served. The second night the waitress added her own 20% gratuity for a larger party when we only had three separate bills for seven people which was a smaller group than we had the night before. We only ordered three bottles of patron and one appetizer in which her gratuity alone cost us well over $100 almost $200. We saw her a total of five times for that kinda gratuity. We definitely will not be going back even though the entertainment and music was great. Best advice I can give if you go to this place is to walk up to the bar to order your drinks and find a different place if you are looking for a meal. read more

Probably the worst place to see a band I've ever been to. Obviously designed by some tard who knows zero about concerts. Stage is in a corner, dramatically reducing viewing space adjacent to the stage. Stage was not built tall enough, so view for anyone not standing directly in front of the stage is blocked. We paid for a table, $60 extra over price of tickets, and couldn't see the band, except the tops of their heads. And then the lighting was so poor couldn't see anyway. These people were on it all night everyone was so friendly they had these bussers walking around picking up empties and trash and asking us if we needed anything. District 249 is an unique sports bar/restaurant in that it's also a dance club and has 11 professional outdoor sand volleyball courts. Let me give you the 411. It is located on the east side frontage road of Hwy 249 and is about a 5-6 minute drive from the Willowbrook Mall. Yelp location is accurate. It has its own large parking lot out front. Entering inside you see a large open area that has a large round dance floor in the center in the traditional Texas country two step setup. Around the dance floor are numerous tables for dining and drinking along with a separate stage for a band or karaoke. They have a large bar and a small second floor area overlooking the main room for a separate party area. There are TV's everywhere. Walking out the back door leading you out to the large outdoor covered patio that is of a split level design that includes games like corn hole, jenga, etc. Beyond the patio about 25 yards is an 11 court sand volleyball area with professional style nets and a large fence surrounding all of the courts. There is also bleacher seating available for tournaments, changing rooms for the volleyball players and outdoor showers. Volleyball leagues play out here and their info is on the 249 website. On one visit for a weekend lunch, I ordered the beef stew. It came out about 15 minutes and I enjoyed it. It was surprisingly good with well seasoned meat and a peppery slant to the gravy and veggies. I would order it again. Volleyball is played on weekday nights and all day on the weekends. It's kind of neat to go out there and watch. Another visit was on a Saturday night and the DJ was making good music along with the nice crowd there. After 2 visits, I think District 249 is a nice place to visit to eat, drink, dance or play volleyball. It is kid friendly with the volleyball being there but I think they require adults only in the bar area after 9 p.m. Also, I don't believe they charge a cover charge at any time. read more

I went for the Chad Prather but stayed for the Baker potato. I'd like to thank the owners and the staff at D249, they showed class and guts by hosting the event. My wife and I had a great time even after driving two hours to get there. While the show was a blast, the best part was when our waitress explained the history of their famous Baker potatoes. I don't want to ruin the experience for anyone, but it's an important, unique, and tasty, part of our Texas Heritage. I highly recommend it to anyone who goes. read more

Came here for a friends going away party on a Friday ~6pm. A couple tables were reserved in the back patio. We had a problem with the food since it took over AN HOUR to get it. My sister and I got crawfish out back and it took ~20 minutes to get. My friend got an entree dish. We had to repeatedly ask the waitress for updates and she said they're working on it. We just told her to cancel it but she assured us that it'll be out in 5 mins. The only good thing was that they refunded him his food. He said it wasn't even worth it.
