Dr. Padula is a knowledgeable, and thorough doctor. Having a head injury 25+ years I went to many…read moredoctors, none of them gave me an accurate diagnosis. After spending quite a bit of time with me, Dr Padula told me that my eyes were not sending the right information to the brain. I will never be cured, I am not holding onto walls or holding onto baby carriages I didn't need. He is a very caring and kind individual, always about his patient. His staff is equally kind and efficient. I would highly recommend Dr Padula, I travel from New Jersey to Connecticut to see him.

We took our daughter to Padula Institute of Vision (4+ hours away from us) for about 2 years. We…read morehave spent a small fortune (approx $15k or so) on glasses, evaluations, and vision therapy in that time. We saw some improvements in the first few months, and I suppose that is why we continued going as long as we did. Unfortunately, we did not observe much improvement after the initial few months. Even so, we kept going back, believing that eventually things would begin to improve again. We had the required 6 month evaluation ($3k) done in August 2025 and received two new pairs of glasses ($1k) on September 25th. Our daughter expressed discomfort with the new prescription at the appointment, but she was told she would adjust. Over the next few days, she began experiencing some concerning symptoms- vertigo, nausea, dizziness. She had two concussions in less than 2 weeks after receiving the glasses. At the ER, the concussion doctor suggested getting her eyes checked. We went to an eye doctor who suggested not using the glasses to see how she felt. She almost immediately started to feel better. Over the next couple of days, all of the concerning symptoms went away. She has been stable on her feet, and hasn't walked into walls or hit her head again since. We suspected that something in the new glasses prescription was adversely affecting her. I emailed the office to request a refund for the two pairs of glasses as they are unusable for her. The office manager kept suggesting I schedule a virtual appointment, which would be another $225. I fail to see how a virtual appointment will benefit my daughter in any way. Eventually, she refused the refund for the glasses, insisting I would need to make an appointment to be seen virtually. I will not be handing over more money to them ever again after this. After all of this, I went through some of my paperwork from Padula Institute and found something concerning. When my daughter was first evaluated at Padula Institute, her pupillary distance was reported as 64 on her evaluation and related prescriptions (dated 8/7/2023). I found the two most recent prescriptions from Padula Institute (dated 8/18/2025 and 11/26/2024) and the pupillary distance was listed as 60 for her main glasses and 58 for the reading glasses. A pupillary distance discrepancy of 4mm can cause side effects such as dizziness and disorientation. My daughter was experiencing these symptoms when wearing her Padula glasses, and even expressed discomfort when she first tried them on. By the way, I should mention that her pupillary distance was confirmed to be 64. I had her evaluated at an eye doctor right after the recent concussions (October 7th 2025) and she documented her pupillary distance at 64. Now I find myself questioning two previous concussions (5/2/25 and 11/2/24) she had BEFORE the most recent incident detailed in this review. Was the discrepancy with the pupillary distance a contributing factor in those events? How long has this been happening? These glasses were supposed to be helping her. Now we have to deal with the medical bills and aftermath.

I am really upset with these guys! I had a great appointment with a new eye doctor who was so…read morecaring and great. He really helped me with suggestions for my dry eyes. Sadly, the prescription that I use for my dry eyes is VERY expensive ($250) but the eye drs always write up the prior authorization so the insurance will pay. Well, I called FIVE times last week and left messages bc no one was calling back. They ignored my calls every time. I spoke to Miranda who could have cared LESS! I did MY job, I made the appointment and showed up on time and paid my bill. This office has NO CARE to do THEIR job-to return a phone call and fill out the paperwork! I am so disheartened and frustrated! If there was ONE light at the end of the tunnel, I was able to get a hold of a different office in Deep River. There is a LOVELY lady named Donna who actually answered the phone (shocker) and called CVS and called me back to follow up. The problem still is not solved, but having someone in the office that gets back to me is a huge win. I am hoping to get this problem solved. :(

I found him to be dismissive of my concern and shockingly even tugged at my eye without warning. When I flinched and told him it hurt, he told me to "get back here" and said it didn't hurt (as if he would know). I found this to be rude and completely uncalled for. He also referred to the great staff at the front desk as "girls" which is not appropriate. Yuck, Yuck!
