I cannot understand how this place is still around. When I signed up they told me I could change service at any time without consequences. This is a complete lie. So apparently when you want to cancel DVR service they make you get a new box, this box that I was forced to change to comes with a brand new 2-year contract. Never was I told that downgrading service would mean a new contract. On top of that I have called in several times to get it sorted out and the "customer service" representatives told me everything is fine and I can just finish out the first contract due to being misinformed, however when I called back to cancel they told me they never said that and by signing for the box I actually consented to the new contract and they will do nothing. I feel like there should be laws to protect consumers from this misleading way of doing business. read more

Worst customer service ever received in my life. Moved into apartment and couldn't get a strong enough signal and had to reset system every few hours. Decided to cancel and got charged a couple hundred dollars because we couldn't use their service. Had direct tv before and encountered same situation several years ago and they were great no fees! Very poor customer service. I was told a technician would be out between noon and five on Friday, they called at 3:45 saying they won't be able to make it. Then they might be able to make it on a Saturday, but I have to be home from noon to five again. Seems to me if I'm paying this much a month on TV they would be willing to pay OT to make a customer satisfied. Needless to say, after this contract is over I will not be using DISH again. read more

Don't ever buy this internet unless there are absolutely no other choices. It is much, much, much, much SLOWER than dial up, it never works, you cannot watch videos or download music. You can't have Netflix or Youtube or an X-Box One since it REQUIRES INTERNET! They will try to fool you and say you can do these things, but you cannot. They will LIE, literally lie to you and feel no qualms about it. If you can get cable internet, or DSL, or dial up or those peer to peer or even cellular internet off of your phone is better than this. Do not be tricked, it will not work, you cannot function in the world with this crap excuse for internet and it only gets more expensive and slower as time goes on. They can literally get into your computers, cell phones, tablets, anything you use with their internet and log every single thing you do then are capable of shutting down your browser when they have decided your 10g are up. You think this is a lot of data, we use it up browsing the internet with no video, music, downloads, within 3 days each month. Clearly we are not using 10gigs of data in 3 days, but they say we are and our internet is down to less than dial up speed in seconds. They will learn how to block you from frequented websites to try and FORCE you to buy 1g for $10, which you must use by midnight and it resets anyway. There is no scrubbing allowed, so you can't just try and pause a video and wait for it to load, they block it. read more

Where to begin... I started having trouble with my dish network service cutting out constantly two or three months ago. It was finally determined (after at least a dozen calls) that my receiver was outdated and I'd need to upgrade it... Ok fine, so they sent me a receiver and that was that, or so I thought... Fast forward to present- I call to cancel my service because I'm moving and they tell me I owe a $500 early termination fee... Ummm WHAT?! I didn't even recall being in a contract with them (side note: this account was switched to my name three years ago when my dad passed away. He had dish for five years or so before then) So, I question the account specialist. They tell me they have a contract on file with my signature and when they upgrade equipment it comes along with a two year contract! Confusion and then outrage sets in... I DID NOT sign any contract, and I was never even made aware that accepting operable equipment for a service I am paying for to replace my faulty equipment would be locking me into 2 more years with a company I'm already not impressed with. I would have NEVER agreed to that, especially knowing full well I'd be moving soon. You would think that dish network would want high customer satisfaction and gladly be upgrading or replacing nonfunctioning equipment so their customers can enjoy the full benefits from the service they offer, but what do I know? I'm just a customer... Needless to say I'm furious. I've requested copies of the alleged contract they are claiming to have on file, which I was told by one representative I would receive via email, and when I called to follow up after not receiving it a different representative informed me they have to request it from some other department and it can take 7-10 days... Absurd! And later in the same conversation she says "Just to summarize, a contract will be sent to the address on file in 7-20 days." I am two seconds away from pulling my hair out. I feel like I'm being flat out lied to and taken advantage of. Every time i call I hear something different, and their "account specialists" leave much to be desired. When I receive this contract in 7-10 (or 20!) business days I will be filing a police report for forgery and I pray to everything holy it results in some type of class action lawsuit. I can't be the first person this has happened to. They probably get away with this scam all the time because not having to deal with the circus act they call customer service is almost worth the $500. I might not be so adamant had it not been for the blatant deception trying to sneak me into a contract and lack of customer support. So thank you dish network! The most terrible customer service in history!!! I used to live in Europe and in Russia and never ever had such terrible service. They use threatening techniques and manipulation and they charge you for everything including things that they have to do, not you. You will send them their broken equipment and pay for it yourself and then you will pay for fixing their broken equipment. Half the time your dish won't work 'cause of rain or some other silly reason and you will still pay for the service. Dish Network should be outlawed! It is absolutely unbelieveable how this business is all about "give me your money"! When I called to get rates, the first questions asked of me was "do you have a valid debit card"! I said yes, but I was not giving it to them, I was only calling to get rates. I was told that my rates are dependent on the eligibility from my debit card!! Can you believe that?! All the people on the phones are Phillipino, which means that these calls are transferred to the Phillipines, rather than giving American the jobs here. She was selling me up on television packages after I was saying I only wanted basic cable. She wouldn't give me any rates without me first giving her my debit card. Upon that, I told her I was no longer interested, and for her not to call me back. What a racket! I called Calaveras telephone, the company that serves the area where my home is and was treated like a queen by an American! Can you believe that?! And she didn't try to sell me a thing!
