When I tried to contact them to cancel the camp within their cancellation period, the phone only rang and did not go to a voice mail. After a couple more attempts I e-mailed them and finally received acknowledgement that they would cancel her camp and issue a refund. After months of trying to contact with them asking for an update on my refund, I was only given excuses and was constantly told that the person responsible for issuing the refund was always busy and could not talk at that time. This place is a scam and I would never trust the care of my child to them.

Shana is super sweet and ,also, spent time showing my granddaughter how to brush Tank the Pony's blonde mane and winter-coat, as well as ,how to clean his hooves. In the end, my granddaughter went home with a Pony-poster, horse stickers and a cute, decorated, pink horseshoe! She loved it, after being all shy and tentative in the beginning. Thanks, Shana. Classes are monthly or yearly, and are 40-45 minutes long. They're usually some learning, about colors but its definitely more activity based, learning about rolls and jumps. My kid enjoys it because it's like going to the playground but with more obstacles and things to learn.

I originally stopped by in search of pottery classes--and was delighted to find not only that they offer them, but also that a new session begins on October 13th. In addition, there's a Fall Break Art Camp for grades 2-5, where children will experiment with a range of media including watercolor, acrylics, and collage. As I walked through the space, I was able to watch artists at work and enjoy the current gallery exhibits on display. The atmosphere was inspiring and welcoming. Adult fall classes--running October 6th through December 13th--are also available, covering both visual and ceramic arts. Each class is taught by individual instructors, making it approachable for students of all levels. Best of all, online registration makes it simple to sign up. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that such a wonderful resource has been right in my neighborhood all along. It was a great experience, and I've already registered for pottery classes--something I'm really excited about! We (along with many other families) left Oak Grove Academy in Feb 2023 for better care and…read moreeducation elsewhere. Despite talking a lot about the curriculum, Oak Grove really just provides babysitting services. They will show you the binders of curriculum and that it's posted outside the classroom door. But curriculum is only as good as how well its implemented. There was little education or development during our time there. The staff at Oak Grove is babysitting, not educating. The large classrooms look fantastic, until you realize how many kids they have in a classroom. They will tell you that they meet state requirements for teacher/student ratios, but just because you CAN have so many kids in a classroom doesn't mean that you SHOULD. Classrooms are chaotic and teachers are overwhelmed. There were a number of other issues during our time with Oak Grove, but the overall issue is that you can get better for your money. Oak Grove may seem cheaper at first, but other daycares include extracurriculars in the tuition that Oak Grove charges extra for. By the time you include the cost of extracurriculars, Oak Grove is not cheaper. Also, Oak Grove had parents provide food and supplies for holiday parties, but at our new school all holiday parties, egg hunts, etc are funded by the school. So much more convenient for the parents! We regret the time we wasted at Oak Grove and are so much happier with our new school. ------------------------- Note about the response from the school: Again, they quotes ratios. Be sure to ask how many kids total are in the class and how many of the adults in the class are true teachers versus helpers/assistants. I know that at one point there were almost 30 kids in my child's class. That is simply too many toddlers in a room. That said, considering the number of families who unenrolled their kids this year, the ratios probably have improved... but not for the right reasons. Also said in the initial review, the leadership talks a lot about the curriculum... but the curriculum is only as good as how well it's implemented. Lastly, why on earth would the owner want to contact me months after we have left other than to attempt to improve my review? If they were truly concerned, they would have worked on improving the situation before we and other families chose to leave.

She is amazed by the level of education here and the intellect level of these kids. Most of the kids are able to leave and enter kindergarten reading and writing on a 2nd grade level. No notice until we got to the butterfly house, and truthfully it would have been nice to have been told that when we paid so we could have planned out our day better. They told us ten minutes, but their talk they do at the beginning took half of that so we felt pretty rushed. Other animal exhibits include a couple of owls, a beaver, and some vultures. Indoor exhibits were also limited, but at least it was air conditioned. I would not recommend visiting in summer months. Trail is fairly shady, but still brutally hot already. Overall, the exhibit is great and perfect for kiddos.
