    Thank you Santa Clarita Pediatrics for caring for my kids for nearly a decade. We mainly see Dr…read more Grino but also see Dr. Yen and the other doctors on occasion for unexpected visits when the kiddos aren't feeling their best. We've gone for regular check ups, vaccinations, sick visits, and even ear piercings. I appreciate their willingness to listen to my concerns as well as their bedside manner towards their patients, my kids. Their assessments are always thorough and their recommendations are based on evidenced based practice: which I recognize as a nurse for XX years. I can only speak from my experience and not others, but regarding the rest of the office staff, I have a great rapport with them. The only issue that comes to mind is when my job decided to switch insurances on us mid year. The office staff did all the legwork making sure I was still being covered under my new insurance even when my new IDs were still not updated with the new insurance. All things being said, my frustration lied with my work and not the office staff. I recommended all my friends who had kids after me to check out Santa Clarita Pediatrics. I'm always impressed with how well they figure out the problem and diagnose the issue in ways I certainly couldn't have done on my own. They are all so friendly even though I imagine they see a lot of patients every day. I also like how there's always an on call doctor for emergencies during after business hours. And when one doctor isn't available, you can see any of the other doctors in the practice. Another thing I like about the practice is that when you call, you talk to someone who's actually in the office, not a call center who's not even there. Truly grateful that my kids are patients of this practice!

    It was easy checking in as a new patient in their urgent care section. Signed a few papers and they…read moremade you wait. I don't mind the wait as it is first come first served. What surprises me is that they won't tell you if they are in or out of network. They will ask for your insurance card and get you registered. But I did my research and they are in-network with my insurance. They will also not give you estimates of the out of pocket payment which I became suspicious of. It is always better to have an upfront value of your out of pocket cost so there are no surprises and you are aware of how you can afford it during payment time. In this case, mostly, you got no choice as medical care is so frikking difficult to get and scheduled. You have a primary care physician but majority of the time is not available for you several months in advance. So PCP is useless and you have to resort to high cost of urgent care. I was called for my vitals and then they have me wait again to be seen by a doctor. I got seen by the doctor. After a few Q&A and examination he went out of the room. A few minutes, he came back with papers he printed of my prognosis, the treatment plant and info about the prescription. I went out to the front office and asked for the bill. They said I don't need to pay anything now and they'll mail it. This got me worried. Cases like these, you'll always get shock when you receive it. Several days later I was not mistaken! The bill amounted to $580! I read the details in the bill and it says some sort of Office 45 mins. I immediately sent a message through the app and questioned the bill stating that the doctor did not spend 45 mins with me in the exam room. That was my waiting time. The doctor probably spent no more than 10 mins with me in the exam room. I said they can review the cameras if they want to. So the 45 minutes is very erroneous. I got a reply and said they'll do a coding review. A couple of weeks after, I received a new bill and it went down to $389 less my insurance coverage. The detail now said Office 30 mins which looks like their minimum. I don't think it's an error on their part. It just so happened that I reviewed the bill and questioned it, otherwise they'll get away with it. Another disappointment is that they don't even care to schedule or even make a call to follow up. How the heck would they know that their treatment works or not. Aren't they concern if they made the wrong or right suggestion of medical care? I guess not! On my part it did not work. I did not call back because for sure they'll put me on a schedule to visit and will be charged again! I just made another appointment with a different provider I'll pay anyway and I would have a second opinion. We should demand that every treatment must have a follow up to determine the success of the treatment at no cost to the patient. Sadly we are just profit numbers. We put our trust to these institutions to take care of our health and in return we are given mostly but hope that we will get better. At least in the banking sector we trust them with our money and in return we get interest, though measly. So review your bill for "mistakes". Demand to be seen or heard for follow up to determine the result of the treatment. I believe it is but right to demand this to give patient the closure if treatment is successful or continuity if the treatment failed, at no cost to the patient. I don't think I would entrust Facey Medical Group with my health. I only have one precious life. So do you!
