After attending SK for less than a year, I decided to try the alternative school. Most people think that alternative schools are for "bad kids." This is not the case. The school was fantastic. Yes there are alot of teen moms that go here, but so what, they would be completely rejected at the regular high schools. The kids that go here are amazing, they have had all kinds of obstacles to jump through in their lives. The student to teacher ratio is so much better than SK. There are about 15 kids per class. The work that is done here is based on what level you are at in a particular subject and then you climb the latter from there, instead of just getting thrown into a class and not knowing what to expect. They still have programs like ASB and yearbook, and they take a trip the Puyallup Fair every year. The best part is you still get a regular high school diploma. Some of the perks are you get an off campus lunch, you only go 2 days a week so it gives students the opportunity to work part time. The teachers are amazing, and the principal and admin staff are so nice. I loved this school. read more
