We just moved to DB and had rescued a pup from CCAS. We scheduled an appointment to have her looked at, I was super impressed they did not charge the $85 exam fee , since she was a recuse. We will be back !

Unfortunately we had to put our beloved dog Jersey down. He was a great fighter, but the Leukemia was catching up to him quickly. Again, I can't say enough about Dr. Gray and his entire staff. They took such good care of Jersey and Dr. Gray being the greatest Veterinarian ever examined Jersey very thoroughly to make sure that indeed what we were hearing was the lymph nodes closing off his airway. They gave us time to be with him, I tried to hold the water works back, but this dog meant so much to us that it was impossible. Dr. Gray performed the procedure all by himself and it went flawlessly, Jersey never knew what was going on,except that he was getting sleepy. In under a minute he was on his way to Rainbow Bridge. I want to always acknowledge Jennifer, she was and always has been the nicest person you could ever hope to meet. We chose to purchase an Urn from Bubbling Wells in Napa, since our last three dogs were cremated there, and in my opinion no one comes close to there beautiful urn's. Discovery Bay uses Blue Creek Pet Cremation, and they did a beautiful job. They took a clay paw print of our boy and the lock of his hair was exactly where I pointed to Jennifer to have them remove. One week later I was not ready to see my dogs ashes or to handle them from the velvet bag to the Urn. Jennifer happily offered to do that for us, she had no obligation, but she made the ending easier for both of us. Thank you Jennifer yet again. So, once again Discovery Bay and Dr. Gray came through for us in a very difficult time. We appreciated Dr. Gray's honesty and candor, that it was time to say goodbye. Thank you all Bill and Marcos

We have been coming to them since we moved up here 4 years ago we they where at another location. They have always been very nice treat our animals like family. We have lost a few of our senior cats but they have handled those times with compassion. The staff is fabulous and will keep you updated especially since we are dealing with Covid.

I have been bringing Mamas here for a couple of years. When she saw Dr. Melissa Jacobs she was in great hands. The last few visits here were not the quality of care you'd expect for a loyal customer. Mamas was having issues with sneezing, reverse sneezing and coughing, her eyes were rolling in the back of her head and she was having issues with walking on 10/31/21 and Discovery Bay Vet was closed so I brought her to the Emergency Vet recommended by them in Antioch. They did a check-up and bloodwork and stated she had an infection or inflammation and sent her home with medication. I brought her in for a follow up appointment on 11/4/21 and Dr. Jeanna Villacarte and she said she would have recommended the same medication based on her bloodwork and to see an Internal Medicine Specialist for her nose. On 12/1/21 Mamas was having the same episodes and was no longer on medication so I made another follow-up appointment on 12/3/21 to see Dr. Paul Sessa and asked for new bloodwork. I showed him the video of her eyes rolling back and her head twitching and he stated that it was probably just her older age and vision going out but would get bloodwork as I asked. He took her to the back as I sat in the room and I could hear the vet techs in the back listening to music and laughing. All of the sudden I heard my cat meowing like she was in extreme pain and out of instinct I opened the door and asked them if they needed help to see they had their "house cat" Delta walking around by Mamas while they were trying to draw blood. They said they didn't need help and I shut the door and sat down. I could then hear them put Delta away and then louder say, so I could hear, "Sorry we had to lock you away Delta. I know you were just trying to help the kitty." Are you kidding me? My cat is an only cat and indoor only. Of course she is not going to like another cat walking by her, especially while they are trying to draw blood. Dr. Sessa then came back into the room and said Mamas wasn't cooperating while getting her blood drawn and that since it was Friday we wouldn't get results until Monday and Dr. Gray would call me with results. Then the vet tech brought in Mamas in her carrier and continued to explain she didn't do good while getting her blood drawn and that they gave her a hematoma because they pushed the needle in too far. All because they had their house cat walking around freely while performing services which I am sure is against policies and vet regulations. They hurt my cat when I was trying to get her better and charged me $474 and didn't even apologize for hurting her. Come Monday (12/6/21) I had to email them because I didn't hear anything back regarding her bloodwork. Dr. Jeanna Villacarte called and went over her bloodwork and that she had high levels of eosinophils and sodium and that her recommendation was to see a cardiologist, neurologist and internal medicine specialist. On 12/12/21 Mamas had yet another episode and I wrote to them to see what recommendations they had or if they could test the bloodwork further or give her any medications until I could get in with a specialist. Jennifer, their front desk, stated Dr. Jeanna Villacarte wasn't in and that she would get back to me on Tuesday 12/14/21. On that Tuesday I didn't hear from her and decided to take Mamas to Lafayette Emergency Vet where there was a neurologist on staff. Mamas ended up having Fore-Brain Disease, enlarged kidney and heart murmur. Those episodes (videos I showed to Dr. Sessa) were seizures. I ended up having to put Mamas down. :'( I have yet to hear back from Discovery Bay Vet! My heart is broken and I want everyone to be aware it seems they care more about profits than patients. Mamas was my baby and a part of my family. I will NEVER bring any other pets I have and NEVER give them my business again and you should reconsider bringing your baby here too!

Dr. Pinon took the time to explain everything clearly and gave me treatment options, including insulin or medication, so I could make the best decision for Bubba. They "only" charged $3400 for the cleanings, and failed to ask us if we are OK for them to remove all teeth from what used to be one of our dog's cute overbite. We also had to pay another $1500 for a follow-up emergency visit because they injured the other dog (and failed to tell us about it). Doctor must have a twisted sense of reality, because they told me the dogs did "fantastic" when I was called after the procedure. Dog 1: Permanent Disfigurement without Consent They extracted all six lower incisors from one of my dogs without a single phone call to discuss the necessity or get my consent. They effectively destroyed his signature look and "overbite" forever. We dropped off our cute dog and picked up a "small beast" with only two visible lower canines, all because they couldn't be bothered to pick up the phone. And I will be requesting the x-rays and get a second opinion in the necessity of the extractions, because the other incident described below shattered my confidence in their competence. Dog 2: Injury and Cover-Up While my other dog was under anesthesia, the staff managed to lacerate both of his ears while trimming his face. Let that sink in: they cut a dog that was chemically immobilized and not moving. Even worse, the doctor called me afterward and emphatically stated both dogs did "fantastic," choosing to deliberately hide the injuries. They didn't mention a word of it during the face-to-face pickup, either. Dog 2: Late night emergency follow-up visit We only discovered the injured ears after getting home. When we called, they downplayed the cuts as "no big deal" and admitted they had used skin glue to fix one cut. They didn't even provide an e-collar. A few hours later, my dog was bleeding profusely--blood was literally pooling on the floor. We had to rush him to an emergency vet where we discovered the cuts were so deep they required actual sutures. Because of this clinic's "minor" mistake, my small dog had to be put under anesthesia twice in less than 12 hours. And we had to foot a $1500 emergency bill, after an incident that traumatized our family.

He ran a blood test and found that her blood glucose level was low, which was the reason for her seizures. He ensured she was hydrated and kept her there for the entire day. Dr. Sandhu explained everything he would be doing and was always professional; he truly cared about Harley's well-being. When it was time to pick her up, Harley looked better, but by that time, Dr. Sandhu had already left for the day. Dr. Navreen was the one who released Harley, and she seemed unaware of what was happening. I asked her what I should do if Harley has another seizure, and she appeared surprised, as if she didn't know what to advise. Eventually, she told me to take Harley to the emergency clinic. I explained that I had already paid this vet $1,190, so I wouldn't be able to afford the emergency care. She paused, seemingly uncertain about what I should do next. I then asked if I could have some medication in case of an emergency, and she gave me some meds. A month later, I brought my other puppy, Chip, to this vet when he was almost a month old. He was constipated, which led to dehydration and a drop in his blood glucose level. Dr. Navreen was the doctor who attended to Chip. I explained the situation to her, but she didn't seem to care about what I was saying. I asked if she would give Chip medication because I was aware his blood glucose levels were low. She waited at least 7 to 10 minutes before taking him to the back to administer the medication. Six minutes later, she came out and told me that my puppy had passed away before they could do anything. I asked her what had happened, and she mentioned that she was going to take a blood sample from the vein in his neck. When she returned Chip to me, I noticed he smelled like rubbing alcohol, which the vet tech later said they applied to his neck. However, it also smelled like it was in his mouth. I questioned how she was going to perform the blood test since the area on his neck hadn't been shaved. I cannot recommend Dr. Navreen; she is unprofessional and does not care about pets. However, I do highly recommend Dr. Sandhu for his dedication and care. Dr. Navreen does not need to work with any pets her energy is negative. She killed my puppy. I pray she sees my review.

Collecting urine on a female German Shepherd is not easy. I was also told by the vet that my dog has hip problems because of her stance and how my dog wouldn't let the vet touch her backside. If she KNEW GSD's she would know that they have a different stance than other breeds. My dog doesn't like strangers touching her and therefore the hip theory was not correct. Maybe she has never worked with large dogs but I would say that she is not very bright. Also, if you are sick, STAY HOME! That cheesy paper mask is not the best idea.

Despite being nervous, Jill definitely helped me feel better about leaving my boy in her care. Since his bloodwork was fine, the next time I heard from Jill was when she called to share suggested extractions. She briefly reviewed the dentition of a dog, explained where there were areas of concern in Zero's mouth, and was able to give me monetary figures when asked.
