What I mean is, I'm not a bird watcher and don't know much about bird habits or the sounds they make or their migration. But I can say that I learned a lot from the displays here today and enjoyed walking through the entire thing. It gave me a better appreciation for birds in nature, how they fly, the threats to their survival, etc. And the place isn't preachy. Just a very informative, pleasant learning experience. There's good information here that's well and efficiently presented; it's just enough - it's not stuffy or oppressive. The staff is helpful. We were fortunate that a house tour was beginning during our visit, and we joined that tour (included in the admission price). The tour is given by a volunteer docent. It was very informative, and we learned a great deal about Audubon (the good, bad and the ugly) and his life, marriage, his work and his valuable contributions to the field of bird studies. I'm giving this 5 stars for what we saw, and I'm assuming (confidently) that a walk/hike through the grounds on a nice day would be great.

Just interested in the art. At the Audobon center, I read everything. So interesting to learn about migration, how birds fly, their physiology ... and John James Audobon himself. What a colorful character. The mission of the center is to educate people to cherish and protect the natural world by preserving Audobon's artistic and scientific legacy. I had no particular interest in birds, but I was fascinated. The center is located on a bird sanctuary -- and the grounds are beautiful. There are trails which visitors are free to explore. BTW, if you're looking for a venue for a special event, check this place out. Staff was setting up for a wedding while we were there, and I was impressed.

Then I found Turkey Hill Ice cream Experience only 30min away from Lancaster, and decided to visit. We bought the double scoop experience (comes with ice cream test lab) and obviously that was the highlight of the place! The visit was fun and of course my 5-year-old daughter had a great time eating tons of ice cream!

I choose one scoop; hilights of my visit- learning history of Turkey Hill, process of icecream being made, creating a virtual icecream flavor, watching the production , live from interactive camera in one of the exhibits. Be sure to take the few moments, to watch the introduction video. My favorite ice cream sample flavors were Graham Slam & Blueberry Lemon Pound Cake. An attraction must, well visiting Lancaster, PA. My recommendation would be too sell a few more flavors that you offer , with unlimited tastings. My favorite was orange icedtea.

Didn't get handicap parking when we needed it. So we had to walk a good distance while pushing a wheel chair to get to the entrance. I didn't know they only accepted cash and not card so once I arrived to the ticket stand the lady sitting at the stand told me they had a ATM machine and where to find it but refused to let me use it, which I couldn't understand. When I asked if I could use it to pay for my ticket she literally laughed at me and told me no I could not use their ATM machine and would not tell me why, she then assisted the person behind me in line. Another lady approached me and ended up having a free voucher ticket and gave it to me. I don't have any plans on ever coming back here for any event that is held.

When I was little growing up in Connecticut my father was a hunter. In our backyard he had the Beagles he raised for hunting. I always felt bad they were in a fenced pen. We would take them out into the woods and let them run. At the dog show I'm always in favor of the Beagles but you can vote for your favorite! I'm highly recommending you get to the dog show at least once in your life. This National Dog Show is my favorite. These days I watch on TV. It's a Thanksgiving Tradition.

Something I wish I would have known prayer is that the whole show is filmed on Saturday and I had bought tickets for Saturday and Sunday thinking it would be filmed over 2 days. I have no idea what happened on Sunday I didn't go because Saturday wore us out. We got there at 10:30 a.m. and it's supposedly started at 6:30 a.m. or something crazy that was too early for me. We ended up waiting for the best in show since we came this far so we didn't get out of there till like 8:30 pm. If you've ever seen the movie Best in show apparently they started this dog show based off of the movie. And I tell you what everyone that owned a dog that was in the show acted just like they did in the movie they were just spritzing and grooming their dogs the whole time and the poor dogs looked tortured. It was cool that I got to meet a bunch of the best and show dogs but a lot of the owners were real uppity and nasty attitudes. I thought it was hysterical I wasn't bothered by it at all The thing that sucks for me was how crowded it got to see the actual show there was these giant beams that blocked part of the show so I had to keep moving around. The worst part was that there was nothing to eat there and a bottle of water was like $5. I mean they had things like gross looking french fries and junk food that I won't eat so I starved. There were vendors where I bought some treats for my dog. And Purina handed out some good samples so that was nice. Overall if I would have known better I would have packed myself a lunch and definitely a bunch of bottled waters.

Review is for the Flushing, 2019 New York MineFaire. Like many others have mentioned here…read more.. attending Minefaire for the face-value prices is a big rip-off. The environment itself is nice and your Mincecraft-loving kids will like it but the truth is that there is little to offer included with the general admission fees. You get access to things like viewing the costume contests, or to see certain panels. There are also a few games and activities, such as Minecraft Bingo, that happen from time to time. BUt even that, they ran out of playing cards and pens for the kids to play along....SMH. You can tell from the line that quickly formed outside prior to admission that this was an oversold event with little to offer. Most things that the kids would enjoy doing, such as playing on PC (which they can do at home) had long lines. The VR line was insanely long that the organizer told us that realistically we wouldn't be able to experience it due to the limited space. (as I said..this was clearly an oversold event) There are lots of things for sale, as expected. Minecraft collectibles and tattoos to name a few. Why 3 stars... well the NY MineFaire is actually held in the New York Hall of Science Center and a Minefaire general admission ticket includes admission to the Science Center, which is honestly about the same price that I paid as the Minefaire tickets. The Science Center is great with tons of amazing activities for the kids, so I looked at it as.....paying for the Science Center and getting access to Minefaire for free. :) It doesn't seem that bad when you look at it that way. There is lots of street parking a few blocks away from the Science Center, otherwise parking there is about $12 per vehicle and there were lines of cars waiting to get in and out. Also, we were able to save some $$ by getting our tickets through Goldstar. Overall if you are solely going to the Minefaire itself, it probably isn't worth it, even with discounted tickets. If the venue, such as in NY, includes admission to another Museum/Center, then it may be worth checking out. Lastly, the $10 extra difference between the Gold and Diamond tickets probably isn't worth it since you only get a lanyard, a cardboard badge and a small plush (probably something you don't even like)...we got a sheep?!
