My problems began over 30 years ago. Two months ago, I was living the life of a disabled person who could not get up from a seated position alone, was incontinent and have chronic severe pain. After falling at work decades ago, I experienced severe pain in my neck that traveled along my back and side. Over the years, I have been to specialists at the Stanford pain clinic, UCSF and John-Hopkins Hospital in Cleveland. I have endured two surgeries to fuse vertebrae in my neck and undergone physical therapy and acupuncture. Throughout the ups and down of various treatments. I have spent combined months trying to relieve the chronic pain. I spent days eating, reading and watching television alone on my back. Nearly all of the dozen of doctors I have seen prescribed me strong prescription drugs which, besides making me feel drugged most of the time, caused damage to my stomach. By the time I found Dr. Hans Freericks and his associates, I had the added problems of very painful and swollen knees and feet. It has been a month and a half of treatment and I am so relieved of my pain that I feel like I am living a new life. Without exaggeration the treatments with Dr. Freericks has resulted in the following improvements: considerable reduction in pain and swelling in my knees and feet, increased flexibility (I can put on my own shoes!), 65% improvement on my back and neck pain, I can sleep through the night without leaking before making it to the bathroom. Other doctors tell me that there is a reduction in the pressure in my eyes due to glaucoma and for the first time since I can remember my blood pressure is down. My friends and family tell me that my face looks different, more relaxed with better color. Most importantly, I am not constantly consumes with debilitating pain. I have been to many doctors who have made many promises to me. I am a fighter so event though I have been very disappointed many times because I did not find relief, I did not give up trying to improve my health. I've been going to Discover Chiropractic for around 2 years now. Before coming in I always had a lot of back pain and simple things such as bending down would cause pain in my lower back. I was always hesitant to go to a Chiropractor because I've never had a fondness of doctors, and I was always concerned about the pricing. Discover Chiropractic has an amazing staff, the doctors are all very friendly and they even have different payment plans for those who can't afford the "up front, lump sum". The atmosphere at the office itself is very up-beat and relaxed - if you ever feel like you need to get an extra visit in the week due to stress or pain, they are willing to work with you and get you in for an adjustment. The front desk is staffed by a group of lovely ladies, who always greet you with a smile, and are fun to talk to. After my first few weeks of going, people started telling me that they didn't see me holding my back in pain anymore, and I really was feeling much better. My weekly visit to the Chiropractor is now one of the highlights of my week. **UPDATE**: Now in 2017, still going to Discover Chiropractic because they still work wonders. It's amazing how an adjustment can make you feel better for the rest of the day. If anyone has chronic back, or neck, pain, I highly recommend going in for an evaluation. My experience with the staff at Discover Chiropractic has been outstanding. I recently injured my back to the point where I couldn't even walk. I needed serious help and and not only did I receive that but I got the surprise of being assisted by the most caring and friendly people I have ever met. I am an active person who lifts weights and is trying to start a career in the fire service. Seeing how determined I was to reach these goals Dr. Fisher worked with me and thanks to all his help and guidance I was able to work this fire season with CAL Fire. I am 40 years old and have worked in many areas of healthcare since I was 15 years old. When I was a 6 year old, I started getting migraines. In my early teens, my mum took me to a chiropractor and the headaches dramatically improved. I started getting lower back pain in my late teens, probably related to lifting incorrectly as I worked with people with physical disabilities. The last 3 years have been terrible. I have had consistent lower and middle back pain which has stopped me from carrying out simple day to day tasks and left me depressed and increasingly unfit. I love Dr Fisher and Staff, I began seeing Dr Fisher after I woke up one morning and could barely turn my neck. I called in and they saw me right away. I was in the military and I have had a lot of back injuries. I hadn't seen a chiropracter in a few years and was un-aware how bad my back was deteriorating until I got the x-rays and could see I really needed the therapy. I got a discount for mentioning signing up online and also being a War Vet. I was a bit taken back at the price of treatment package but then I looked at it as an investment into my health and longevity. I am so pleased with my investment. Dr Fisher has an amazing light touch and as a massage therapist too, I was intrigued by how he adjusted me and got me to thinking I might go back to school to be a chiropracter as well. I have been receiving chiropractic care on and off for more than 30 years. Not all of it has been positive. I have turned down more offers because I felt the doctor was more interested in adjusting my financial status, than helping me get better. Talk about real pain...ow! Dr. Freericks' first comments to me never included costs, payments or the like. He actually looked me in the eyes and said, "I think I can help you get better." As a Kaiser member, at the time, my two year old son appeared to have exceptional difficulty learning to walk. We took him to Kaiser pediatric physical therapy for six months, with no results. Kaiser P/T gave up and forwarded us onto their neurology group. At that point, I decided enough was enough and sought outside help. Dr. Hazleton checked my son's hips and alignment. After one appointment, two days later my son was walking. We've taken him back in for follow up a couple of follow appointments to check his alignment. All is good. I was first introduced to Dianna the office manager who was extremely friendly and flexible with my unpredictable schedule. Upon meeting Dr. Fisher, I immediately felt at ease. I went to them a few months ago with an injury that was causing my left arm to go numb. We did the initial x-rays and found what could be causing the issue along with other issues. I have chronic low back pain due to degenerating discs and arthritis. I have had physical therapy during previous acute flare ups. I have resisted chiropractic care. Recently I was referred to Dr. Fisher and after a complete evaluation of my spine saw the need for further care. Dr. Fisher has been great. The low back pain is better as well overall spinal flexibility. The manipulations done are very similar to those I experienced with physical therapy. He has also provided great exercise information sheets that complement the manipulations to provide ongoing core strengthening. I have been a patient of Dr. Hans for now nearly 4 years. I came to him essentially "BROKEN" and suffering from many spinal misalignments, some of which I had just learned to deal with over the course of 20 years and some I didn't even know that I had.
