Discount Tire - Tires Near Me - San Angelo, Texas

I will no longer do business with Discount tire. I went in today for tire rotation and rebalance on my Michelins (purchased from them). My request was left rear outer to left front and right rear outer to right front, maintaining original directions on my dually. After 1 hour and 45 minutes the tires were not installed as instructed. Tire air pressure was supposed to be 60 lbs per tire and all pressures were from 45 to 70 lbs. Totally dissatisfied and will never go back. read more

Very disappointed in Discount Tire in San Angelo Texas. I have bought 2 sets of off-road tires on 2 different vehicles. Today I found out they won't warranty my tire. I paid extra for the road hazard warranty and was told they don't carry my tire anymore, That I would have to pay for a new tire that wasn't even an off road tire. They wanted me to drive around with mis matched tires AND pay $260 I am beyond mad. I will never use Discount Tire again. read more

Watched to employees joke around behind the front counter about the exhaust of someone pulling into the parking lot. They didn't say one word to the lady waiting to be seen. I spoke from behind her and said which one of you wants to wait on this lady. One pointed to the other and said this one and then left the room. The one still there said I have to go air up tires then went outside. I told that the lady that was very rude for them to walk out and not even apologizeto you. The . The only other employee who was very busy with a phone order at least said the manager is over there. The manager was on the other side of a sign talking to another customer. He went past the lady and came right to me. I explained the situation with them goofing around then one pointing at the other and leaving and the one saying I have to air up tires and leaving. The manager said to me, "i have people complain of there tires don't get aired up quickly. Then the manager walked out with no apology even to the lady who had been ignored. We were desperate to get new tires quickly for our Rialta RV. The tires are rare and we couldn't find them anywhere. Jesse at the San Angelo, Discount Tire helped us out. We knew that they needed to be ordered but the quickest everyone else we checked with was going to be 5 to 7 days. We were stranded and needed to get home over 1600 miles away. Jesse was very friendly and managed to find them in a day. We are so grateful to have such quick friendly service. We were able to get home with time to spare. read more

I know they open at 8 am, but when you pull up and all of the employees are helping someone get his tires on his truck, and all you need is a tire inflated, I guess the gentleman I spoke with thought his cell phone chat was more important than taking care of business, I know I know that they don't open for another 5 minutes but if I ran my business that way it would be bad, all I'm asking is if you're not doing anything and someone pulls up and all they need is just basically a shot of air. Go somewhere else, it's cheaper everywhere else and discount tire employees are trained to lie to customers in order to force new tire sales. They say they do free flat fixes and offer free air but they will lie to you and tell you your tire is a liability or it will explode if put air in it. Discount Tire runs an efficient albeit, high volume tire dealership. We were able to find the tires we wanted at a decent price and service was good. I would give them 5 stars, except like most tire stores, they don't clean your wheels and tires off after mounting 4 brand new tires. Glad they mounted, balanced and changed out valve stems, but found unsightly chunks of white tire mounting soap all over the alloy rims and new tires. Wish tire dealers would wash and wipe down the wheels and tires, showing their pride in workmanship as their customers left with clean new tires and wheels. Ha, you can't have it all! Discount Tire in San Angelo, TX did a good job and their rep "Blas" did great for us there this week! read more

Called before to ask if walk-Ins were being accepted during this time and they are so I went and got my tires checked out because of a screw it had in it and come to find out the fix was free of charge and it only took less than 30 minutes even with multiple customers in and out! A young man by the name of Trevor Lewis works there. He is a young college student at San Angelo State. He is my son. I live like 6.5 hours away but wanted to check him out. I drove up to visit one week end and he didn't see me but I was one proud mom. That boy was working so hard to help get people out of there as soon as possible. I was so proud of my boy! I love discount tire just not this location in San Angelo, took me 4 trips to get a tire. I drive 72 miles, so ill be more selective of location next time. 1st trip i mentioned i wanted to use my discount tire card to purchase my tire. I went slightly before closing so sales guy just told me i didn't have enough for my tire. i researched their website and it recommended another tire for my car which was better suited for my needs and came in below my balance, i guess sales guy couldn't take the time to offer me an alternative the first time. 2nd trip, Tire was ordered and promised to be in before my vacation trip. Seemed to good to be true. Tire did not make it before my trip, which was ok, I came back from my trip, (3rd trip ) and went in on a day i got off work early. I was informed my tire was sold to someone else. I had asked to purchase the tire previously on my card, i noticed it wasn't paid for. i thought, oh well i guess will save me interest. I would not make this mistake again, i asked to purchase my tire again to prevent my tire from being sold again. 4trip Tire was installed. I WILL NEVER come back to this discount. Giving them 1 star because I can't give them none. Everytime I go there even if I have brand new tires they tell me my tires are no good and I need new ones. RIDICULOUS! I went there to get my tires rotated and a man measured my tread. Maybe he needs to learn how to remeasure tread because he didn't do it correctly or at least when I went somewhere else they got completely different readings. They take advantage of young girls that go in alone and it's too obvious at this point. Not only that but I know how to measure tire tread and I will always do it myself before taking it to them if I have to go there. Disappointing to say the least. read more

Good tires at a good price. Huge wait times even if you show up at 8 am when they open. It took them 40 minutes to start work on my car. I'm disappointed that the first time it rained wheel weights came off and I had to come back. I dislike having to get people to re-do work---all they do is change tires. I expected them to get it right the first time. I had thought they'd prioritize fixing an error ahead of other work. I would. I will seriously consider going elsewhere next time I need tires. read more

Went here to get a new set of tires for my car. They were reasonably priced and did a good job with the mount and balancing. I took away a star because they didn't fill my tires to factory specs and then acted like I was an idiot for asking them to do so. All in all pretty good experience and other then the minor hiccup a overall solid location. read more

I was in San Angelo visiting the Goodfellow Air Force base over the Memorial Day weekend. After having lunch at the Applebee's we went out to the car and had a flat tire. I was fortunate that it was just across the street from Discount Tire and literally just drove across the street to Discount Tire. The place was very busy, all bays were full and the lobby was full. One of the gentlemen behind the counter took care of me immediately, he inspected the tires and showed me how bad they were, literally you could see the wear bars in the treads. He said that they would not repair a worn out tire, it was against their policy, and after seeing how bad they were I knew I was in for a new set of tires. He showed me four or five options, I selected the tire I wanted, and within 45 minutes I was out of there with peace of mind and a great deal on a new set of tires. The service and professionalism of the folks at the counter and the technician who changed my tire was outstanding, and the Michelin tires on my FX37 ride better than the original tires. Much quieter and smoother than the Bridgestones that came a OE on the SUV. These guys are fantastic, I highly recommend them. read more

I had an accident (only my car was involved thank God) in Santa Ana and thought that only my tires were bad. Put the spare on in place of the flat tire, and everything seemed fine. When I got back to San Angelo, I went to Discount to get new tires. When I got my car back, I noticed my steering wheel was crooked. I brought it to the sales employee attention and he just looks at me like he doesn't understand when I say,"the steering wheel is crooked. The cruise control is at 5 o'clock when it should be at 3". He said that he would have the tech out more air in my tires. No! That is not the problem! That is common car sense! I finally got a hold of a manager that looked at my underside and told me that a rod was bent. I have gone to other Discount Tires and all of my past experiences, the underside was observed. I know that Discount Tires only fixes tires and wheels, but how could the tech not notice something is wrong with a car's suspension when he has to add 3 weights to a tires and not bring it to the customer's attention? I'm never going back to this Discount Tires again. read more
