My friend and I had a terrible experience at Discount Tire. We had gone to BJ's to check the tire pressure and put air in her tire. The guy at BJs said there was a slow leak and recommended we go to Discount Tire, where they usually patch it for free or cheap compared to BJ's prices. So, we went there and told the guy, Jon that a patch was needed. Jon didn't even bring a spray bottle to check for a leak. He immediately started saying how she needed new tires, claiming the tread was horrible. She told him she didn't have the money for new tires at the moment we're just broke college students trying to get a patch. He made it sound like we wouldn't be able to drive away without new tires. He refused to patch the tire. We basically went there for no reason. We went back to BJ's, and they said Jon was lying. They also told us that she had about 10,000 more miles on her tires. read more

The last time I went in for a tire rotation 5000 miles ago they mentioned that the tires were starting to wear. They did not know the tires were not very old and are under warranty. When I mentioned the warranty,I was told we would check into it next time. Just went in for rotation the guy checking my tires said they were around a 3.5-4 and the front around 5. Was suggested I get new tires. When I bought these tires, he suggested them instead of the cheaper ones that I had picked out because of the 50,000 mile warranty. My tires are at 19,000. I was offered $86 towards one tire for my warranty. I've been a customer here a long time and recommended a lot of people. It definitely feels like things have changed and customer service has gone down. I was told that the tires are wearing uneven. I've never been told anything about any issues and also told that I didn't rotate until almost 8000 miles the first two times. This is not true and I've never been told any of this in past as I've always taken my car there for rotations. Was told techs often fail to put notes or discuss issues with owners. Again, not good customer service for a product that you sell and are supposed to warranty. I've read several other complaints today regarding warranty issues. read more

When I asked about military discount I was told the mail in rebate was the military discount... hard to believe that's true. Was told the thousands of unused miles on my tires I was getting taken off would be honored with a credit to my new tires. Didn't happen.
