Daniel and Carlos are amazing. We came in at around 5pm. They advised us that the wait would have us there until 6:15 or so, and never once mentioned that it would be after closing. No pressure about that at all. My car's stock size tire is abnormally small, and would cost nearly $100/tire. They were knowledgeable enough to know which size up would actually work with my car and saved me around $40/tire. On top of that, my fender was out of place in a way that made the driver's side front tire rub against it, we drove it around the block and could hear it grinding and popping and came back immediately. It was then half an hour past closing and they both stayed to try to make this right. They were able to actually pull my fender back into place and my car is driving perfectly smooth now. I cannot sing their praises enough. Not only were they amazing, but an employee on his way out to go home took the time to tell us how good of a manager Daniel is. When the employees talk about a manager like that, it means that manager is doing a lot of things very right. I really can't put into words just how much I appreciate the work Daniel, Carlos, and the rest of their crew did for me today. read more

I have purchased several sets of tires for several vehicles at this location. Excellent service in all cases. Recently had the annoying tire pressure sensor warning light go on. After inspection by staff, I was informed that the sensors on the front tires were bad and needed to be replaced. That was done. Within a couple of months the warning light appeared again. This time the back tire sensors were deemed to be the culprits. They too were replaced. Two months later the warning light appeared again. Try to shorten this already too long post, this problem was very difficult to diagnose. Multiple trips and attempted fixes failed. Finally, store manager Dawson and his assistant Jaden decided that the solution was to order new OEM sensors rather than use the aftermarket products. The new sensors were ordered and installed and the problem was solved. These guys tried really hard to resolve the issue and I appreciate that very much. "Trying hard" is sadly becoming a rarity these days, but not at Discount Tires and this location. read more

The people that work here are always friendly and helpful. Recently towards the end of the day I noticed my tire was damaged. I rushed to their store. I got there 10 minutes before closing. They replaced my tire within an hour. I was worried I'd have to leave it over night. Without a fuss they just did it right away for me. read more

I wanted to provide a update as of 9/26/2025. After months of calling Discount Tire customer service and trying to get a call back from some sort of management I was called by an internal claims manager that was willing to listen to my side of the story. He asked me to send him the pictures that I had shared with Fleet Response. About a week later I received a email from him saying that they would work with me to have the wheels replaced by the Porsche Dealership locally. This was great news! Finally some accountability. I was told to call Dalton at the Murray Discount Tire Store and discuss the details. He was extremely apologetic and sympathetic to the issues that I had. He explained that he was extremely surprised that Fleet Response had not covered my claim and was working with the senior claims manager at Discount Tire to get the wheels ordered with the Porsche Dealership. The wheels have been ordered and apparently delivered to the dealership for install. Discount Tire has agreed to replace the wheels, dismount, mount, balance and align my car. Im happy that this is finally being taken care. I wish that it would have been taken care of a few months ago without all the hard ship but happy it's finally happening. There comes a time in every truck's life when it needs new tires. This is a good thing--you're driving a truck, not a museum. It gets used, and I've laid down some good miles on that rubber, but it was looking pretty bald. I called around and found the right tires in the right size at the right price, not a great price, but a just-get-it-done price, and made an appointment. Things are tricky now, so I drove up at my appointment time and thy had a drive-thru parking lot situation going on. I checked in with the attendant in the parking lot, and he had me pull into a parking stall. Unfortunately, I had to wait about 20 minutes while I was there, parked in the car, for a stall to open up as apparently they had some walk-in traffic that was taking up a few of the bays. 20 minutes isn't bad, but I could have made my appointment for 30 minutes later and avoided the wait. After parking my truck in the garage (they did offer to park it for me) I went inside to pay, and then retired myself to the parking lot chairs set up under the shade of the trees (the weather was not yet in the high 90s) and passed the time there. It was about 45 minutes of work, and then that was it, grab your stuff, hop in, and drive away. I appreciate that no one actually had to enter the vehicle, in this time of COVID, we just try to minimize contact and they're clearly aware of this. All the staff was wearing some kind of face mask, though the efficacy of some of them may remain dubious due to fit and style... again, I was outside and no one touched the inside of the truck so I'm not worried. All told, a pretty painless operation and I was out in just over an hour. read more

I rolled up on a Saturday at 5:30 pm (past their closing) to a group of workers cleaning up. I had just gotten back from a trip and needed to drive 45 mins to get back home. One of my tires was in desperate need of a fix - a nail was making it flat. Even though it was after hours, they helped fix my tire in 20 minutes, and would not accept any money. They are pretty good at coming up with reasons to sell you a new tire, instead of fixing your tire They made claims about my tire without providing evidence, without showing me what they found, or without backing the claim with any logical explanation. It was just how it was. The only option provided was to purchase a tire. I get there are some reasons why a tire cannot be repaired, that make sense. I get that I am not an expert. If it was a true claim, I should have more than one option presented to me, other than the one that costs me money right then. My best friend who worked for a tire place told me, that the reason they used was something he has never heard in his seven years of his experience, and that he was sure I was being ripped off. The logic of their reason didn't sound right to me, and my online research couldn't substantiate their claim. Maybe it was a valid reason, but I felt like they were hiding the truth because of the way that they handled it. read more

I needed new tires and set an appointment using their app. I arrived a bit early and was checked in, and told the best tires for my car. They did not try to upsell me or sell me any other services that I did not need. They told me it would be an hour and the car was done exactly on time. He did a quick inspection of my current tires which were between 3/32 and 4 32. He promptly took my keys and had my car brought into the service bay. Within 30 minutes my car was ready. Bought a set of tires online. Went here to install, and everything was straight forward and smooth. Had issues with TPMS and they fixed it. Daniel was excellent to work with, communication was great. One thing I like about Discount tires - they itemized their invoice so you can see all the fees, and it's rare that I'll have to pay more than what I paid online. Prior to this I went to the Dodge dealerships (both of them in the Utah valley). The 1st one did not fix the TPMS sensor, it was actually missing one. I highly recommend visiting this Discount Tire store. The week before Thanksgiving when Utah had the big snow storm, I realized my tiny car needed snow tires. I called dozens of tire locations across the Wasatch Front and no one could get me in and they would also not match Costco's pricing. I called this location and was upon the first "hello" provided great customer service. They said they had 40 cars in line but they stay as late as they need to get all the cars done. They also said they matched so I said I would go there. The tires were to be shipped from their warehouse same day and they would call me when they arrived. After a few hours, I was nervous because I hadn't heard from them. I called them and they said the tires hadn't arrived. A few hours after that, they called me and profusely apologized because the delivery was postponed to the next day due to the snow. They said they would call me in the morning and get me right in as soon as they arrived - and they did! They called me at 11:00am the next morning, I said I could be there by 12:00pm and I was out the door with my new tires by 1:45. The store was packed, there was a line up to the register to get help and while I sat and listened, I was impressed by how well they treat all of their customers. They match competitor pricing - many companies say they do but I found last week that many won't if the pricing is too good. This location actually honors their word. With the roller coaster of outdoor temps my tire pressure sensors keep lighting up every month or so, I've been stopping in to have the pressures checked and air added to them. This location is fairly quick to get in and out. As many times as I've been here in the last 6 months I purchased their tire warranty in the event I have a slow leak or it's the outdoor temps having me stop in so frequently. Once the temps stabilize I'll have a better estimate of what to do next based upon multiple conversations w/ different techs here. I recommend this location it's closest to my home and not that far off the I15 freeway. read more

Had me pre-pay for run-of-the-mill snow tires, nothing special about them. The kind every body has in stock this time of year (except for them). Never called me when they got in, I called them to see what was going on. They had them but said it would be several days before I could even make an appointment to get them installed. Seriously....I pre paid. It's like (we already have your money you can wait while we take care of walk ins) Left my car there for most of the day. Got there, checked to see, and yup, they didn't install the studs I had paid for. Charged me to dispose of 3 tires, only did 2. Asked for a credit, didn't get it (it's only 3 bucks) That's the kind of customer service that made me realize I have no desire to deal with them again. read more

Grandma called from idaho and she paid for them with her credit card. we get to the store and tell Stephen the situation and he looks at the tires and sets up an appointment for the next day. he originally didn't have any openings in the morning but he understood what a big deal it was so he SQUEEZED US IN AT 9am (original appointment was for 1pm) they were so fast and customer-oriented and CUTE. Went there today because all four of the tires I purchased 8 weeks ago were low and I needed to get them rotated. I arrived at 5:30pm. When I arrived there was one man helping a customer but there was six other people standing in line including myself nobody would come out to help him. Finally someone arrived to help me I stated that my tires were low and they need to be rotated. They began to work on my tires at just a few min to 6. They close at 6 o'clock by the time they were done it was about 6:15 PM. I was happy that it was done quickly. However none of that is the problem. The problem is as I begin driveway I noticed the tires are still low. I went back to the door to see if I can ask if they could check the Air in my tires. A man unlock the door opened it I'm stood between me and the frame As if to block me from coming in because they have been closed already. So I said to him, I don't believe they check the air in my tires. He claimed that they had even though he wasn't the one who worked on my car. So instead of double checking for me he sent me on my way. I decided to go to the discount tires on 2200 S. State Street, they to close at 6 o'clock but Had their garage doors open. I asked somebody there to check my tires as all four of them needed air, and the gauge had not changed from where they were before I had them rotated. Without knowing that I just came from a discount tire, the man assured me that the air in my tires had not been checked. He filled them for me. He wasn't in s hurry to go home, he wanted to make sure i was safe. I'm going to give that discount tires a 5 star rating. read more

It's great to walk into a place where they know their business. This the second time I've used discount tire. They had all my old info from eeons ago. Actually, it was 4 cars ago. I had to get a new tire cuz the one that went flat has had 4 repairs to it already and it gave up the ghost. And, of course, I can't buy just one tire. Ironically, Matt just told me the other tire we were going to save to be a spare, it's dead too. Matt didn't try to sell me the top of the line or the bottom of the barrel. He actually pulled a list of tires that would work with my car, showed me the ratings and recommended 2 different tires. Totally within my price range. I had to call on my way though, because traffic was bad, told them I'd be five min late and they told me to still come in (bless them). As I was here waiting, both guys working the front counter had some interesting situations with customers but bother did everything they possibly could to make sure the customer was happy. Which is great! I also heard one of the guys in the shop encouraging his co-workers that they "can do it" since they still had a few cars to go before closing time. I'm thankful for the atmosphere and kindness. This location is generally pretty busy (I think I heard they see over 60 cars a day) and I've always made appointments, always had a good experience. Over the weekend I ended up with a nail or screw in my tire. Luckily it was a slow leak, so I was able to keep air in it until Monday morning. A neighbor recommended Discount Tire, so I decided to give them a try. I drove over without an appointment and they were busy that morning, but were able to get me in with about an hour and a half wait--which, considering how busy they were, was a realistic time frame. Stephen was the employee who checked out my tire and told me that they should be able to patch it up, which was good news for me because otherwise the tire was still in good condition. Stephen was polite and professional despite obviously being busy. There are enough chairs to sit approximately 12 people in the waiting area. They stock bottled waters in case customers are thirsty, and have two bathrooms. The waiting area and bathrooms were relatively clean and in good repair. I noticed that the employees were respectful to everyone who came in the door, and did their best to give realistic wait times. One person was having two of his tires changed out and was having the tires rotated at the same time and the tech came out and mentioned that they were having a difficult time taking the tire off and that if they proceeded that the part might break, and wanted the owner's permission to continue to try taking the tire off. I noticed that the employee was thorough in his explanation of the difficulty they were having and would not continue without express permission from the customer--having to specifically ask a few times before he got a straight answer because the customer wasn't actually saying whether or not the employee could continue. Unfortunately the part did break, and while the car was drive-able, they recommended that the customer visit a mechanic soon to get it fixed. An unfortunate situation for that customer, but I appreciated--even though it wasn't my car--that the employee brought up the issue with the customer and sought permission before continuing. When my car was finished, I was given a quick rundown on what service had been performed, and even though I hadn't bought the tire there, I didn't owe anything for them to patch the tire. I would definitely come here again in the future; and, when I need new tires in the future, I'm going to come to this Discount Tires location. read more

These boneheads did significant body damage to the underside of my car by not jacking it up properly. In addition to that they also scored up my wheels 3 of 4, now my hard to find one year only wheels look like crap. This is the worst tire buying experience I have ever had. In addition to the poor workmanship on the job the manager of the store was difficult to deal with and rude when I asked him to order the size of tire that I wanted as opposed to selling me the tire he had in stock. Now that I am dealing with the claims dept. they are accusing me of lying. This experience has insured that I will never return to a discount trie. Stay far far away from these jokers. read more

I love these guys and have been coming here for almost the past decades for all tires. The guys' customer service here is phenomenal and I highly recommend anyone with tire needs to go here or any of the Discount Tires stores. They fixed our flat tires for free regardless of where you get them from and because I had such a crappy tires from another place they were kind enough to recommend their best tires for what I'm looking for and the price range. They even have insurance on the tires that you can purchase as optional. And with Utah being so commuter friendly with their construction and the confetti of nails and potholes, the insurance takes care of the blowout and the tire bubble I am, unfortunately, all too familiar with. It's hard to believe anyone had a bad experience with this company, being a broke college student I can guarantee you that they've always been very upfront and friendly, not pushy with me. read more

I Took my car in and my tires came out with low air this is there fault for not filling them up !

I got a discount for my tire warring too quickly, but still found them pushy and dishonest. Apparently tires are designed to fail for some reason and these guys are apparently taught to make you think your tires are undriveable and worn to much to meet safety standards, they won't rotate your tires if they're even close. I've always been told good things and maybe this is as good as it gets - but seriously, designed to fail. Every couple years you are expected to drop 1k on tires that were supposed to outlast the previous set. Come on America! Let's see some ingenuity and stop putting up with shoddy craftsmanship for money, buying into the latest updates every year and dishonest d bag salesmen ideals. read more

I shopped around the valley for a set of new snow tires (Blizzak LM-60s). I called Burt Brothers (Holladay Store), Firestone (Downtown SLC store), Big O Tires (Cottonwood Heights Store) and two Discount Tire Stores (Salt Lake off State Street and 2700 S-ish) and then this Discount Tire Store (4500 South 120 East). Both Discount Tire stores had quoted me an out the door price of ~$200 to $400 less than all of the other stores I called. Burt Brothers came in around $1k, Firestone said I needed to bring my car in so I actually never got a quote from them (found that odd). Big O said ~$1200. So I ended up at this store. The staff was super friendly and helpful and they got me in and out in less than 45 minutes. I'd recommend Discount Tire hands downs for the best prices on tires and the service at this store is excellent. read more
