I travel a lot for work and an covering a pretty large territory. I generally stick to locally owned shops but as I said, on the road and the multi door shop becomes an advantage. I flatted in the late afternoon 20 miles outside of Midland and was luckily able to nurse the car back to town. The hundreds of oilfield services trucks with onboard air were a big help (think mesquite trees) I called and they said "come-on, be here by 6" I barely made it, and they stayed late to get me back on the road. Even had to collect a tire from another shop. When it's an emergency they seem to get it and make an extra effort to accommodate, cheers for to the extra effort team. read more

We got a giant screw or something from road construction in our tire on the way home. We swung into Discount and the girl that helped us, I believe her name is, Catherine, was awesome. Even though they were extremely busy, she checked everything out, got the fix scheduled and even let us know it was time to rotate the tires so we could get that done as well. We did not fell rushed or like just another number in line at all. Would definitely recommend her! Most all of my experiences with Discount Tire have been good until I needed 1 Tire replaced on my GMC 2500. After a 2 hour wait they finally got my vehicle into shop where I watched the tech try to mount an 18" tire on on a 17" wheel. That took nearly 20 minutes for him to figure it out and get the right Tire. I would recommend a manager for this location and lock everyone out of the office because as many as 5 techs where in it at once. Truly a shameful performance. read more

I cannot recommend this place highly enough! Amazing service. Very professional staff. Everyone is doing everything they can to help as many people as quickly as possible. You can certainly feel that everyone is moving with a sense of urgency and it's very reassuring. It's been a rough week for me. I'm in town for my brother's funeral so I'm internalizing a lot; just trying to keep it together. When I visited with my father yesterday, he came outside to look at my car (as dads do) and he pointed out the tires. They're balling at this point. I immediately looked up the nearest Discount Tire and made a plan to just drive reeeeeally slow to them the next morning when they opened. I was helped by J.C. and it was then that I found out how dangerously low the tread was on my tires. We're talking 1s and 3s. I'm driving back to Arizona tomorrow so there's no getting around it. The tires have to be replaced. So that's a pretty considerable expense I did not plan for. J.C. was extremely professional and understanding. He looked up my account, saw that I had a warranty on one of my tires, and did everything he could to get me the best tires at the best prices. He showed me differerent price points and was very patient with me while I asked a ton of questions about the differences between tires. He explained the severity of the wear on my tires and expressed concern for my safety on the road. All around, I felt heard, understood and at no point did I feel pressured to purchase something I didn't need. I wound up very suprised by how affordable my total came out to be. This place is a joke! What a waste of time. The first time we came here they didn't do what we asked them to. We need weights back on a tire that was missing the weights and rotate and balance the tires. All they did was add the weights back on. This time, we had an appointment but stood in line for 20 minutes to get checked in. Then told their bays are all full so we have to wait until they have an open bay. Awesome! Pointless to make an appointment. We sat here for 2 hours. Most of the time they were standing around talking. Won't be back here! read more

i told them 75 psi all 7 tires, put valve extensions on, fix nail in tire, and white lettering out, they call me say its ready and they put 80 psi, didnt fix nail in tire, mounted tires white letter in, i had to wait another hour and a half....never again!!!!!!!!!!! read more

I had a good experience when I brought my truck to have three tires replaced. The employees were very friendly, despite being swamped with customers. They were courteous and did not immediately push new tires on me. This location is bigger than the Discount Tire on the 250 Loop, so you may get out faster. I would plan on being dropped off, the wait was about three hours when I showed up around lunch on a Friday. read more

In 2009, I bought a set of 90,000 mile Michelin tires from Discount Tire in Midland, Tx. I also bought the lifetime rotate and balance package. At the time of my purchase I thought that meant that 90,000 miles. After owning the tires for 9 years and 11 months and putting only 30,000 miles on them I took them back to Discount Tire to get balanced and rotating. It was explained to me that the life of the tires was 10 years from the date of manufacture. I was SHOCKED. They explained that tires were not safe after 10 years and it was company policy not to service them after that date. I called the regional office and talked to an Assistant Vice President about my problem. I explained my side of the story and how I expected to have a 90,000 mile policy. He understood how I was looking at it but explained that for liability reasons, they had to stand by their policy. To make sure I was a satisfied customer (customer for 25 years) they made me a deal on a replacement set of tires that I could not pass up. He told me that in the end their goal was to have a SAFE and satisfied customer. They were all very courteous, professional and extremely fair. I went in to get my tires changed and it took them 3hrs, granted they had other costumers before me, but they put the wrong tires on.

I entered at 10:12am to have a tire repaired. They estimated completion time 12:00pm. I watched at least 4 customers go ahead of me that came in AFTER me and were serviced. When I commented on this the sales person stated that they had appointments, but I'd heard what they said when they walked up and it wasn't true. At approximately 11:45 I went up for the 2nd time and soon thereafter a "manager" came out and told me mine would be going in next. Was finally taken back and completed about 12:15. The people were courteous, but stated that there were appointments which took priority. Make sure IF you go there to ask if they have any appointment slots available because first come, first serve doesn't count for anything at this store. We've spent thousands of dollars at Discount Tire for our dually Ram truck, 5th wheel and car over the years and its really frustrating receiving this kind of service. read more

It's a Catch-22. It's not a 10 minute service window because they are so busy. They are busy because they are good. They told me it would take 50 minutes and it was 50 minutes on the dot. I don't go to many tire places because I lease and drive new but this store's support model is stellar! While waiting for my car, I observed consistent and professional customer service to anyone that came through the door. The guys in the shop were working their tails off and the office was writing up business as fast as they could. Went to get new rims ordered and installed at this location. Didn't tighten the center cap and it fell off as soon as I drove off, had to order a new one. Then they conveniently forgot to return my old center cap and I had to call up there and have them find it then go back to pick it up. And the best part is the technician broke my cruise control lever and they're only paying half of the repair costs . It was in perfect working condition when I dropped my jeep off and when I picked it up a couple of hours later the lever was dangling from the steering column. I was at the Wal-Mart across the street getting items for my oldest daughter to move to Lubbock to attend Tech. We walked out of the store to find our tire completely flat. I knew Discount Tire was already closed so went back in to Wal-Mart to buy a can of fix a flat. Tried that without much success. I figured I had enough air to drive slowly across the street and just see if anyone was still there...to see if I could get a little more air in the tire. They had already been closed for 45 minutes yet Paul attempted to put air in the tire and the puncture was too large. Paul immediately said they would go ahead and replace the tire (even though they were closed) since I had the certificate on it. I cant say enough about Paul and Discount Tire. It meant the world to us; for them to take the time on a Saturday evening to make sure we were taken care of. I am a long time customer but Paul didn't know that before he made the decision to help.
