This past May, I had a front flat tire, needed to collect the kids from school, in a matter of hours. Was towed to the discount tire store, every tire I wanted wasn't in stock, so I bought their "Cheaper" tires for my Subaru Ascent. Riddle-me-this, with all of their (so-called bells and whistles), 2 front tires (I wanted to balance the front) was $635. They don't ask if you're aware of the extra BS charges. The tires were noisy, cheap, and nasty. We just purchased top quality tires this morning, at Sam'sClub for $778 total, with actual all bells & whistles for 4 new tires. Four, 4, new tires. My personal experience, Richard is quite possibly one of the best at Advanced Auto Parts in Lafayette. He tested my car battery, my starter, & alternator. I felt very taken care of. Went to have tires rotated and balanced but was denied because tires are too old. I hardly drive this truck and is garaged, have 9/10th tread but no. What really upset me was being lied to. I was told all tires sold are at least a year old which is BS. Haven't been to the store in a long time and now I remember why. Discount Tire can be hit or miss with their service. I tend to swing by while running errands to take advantage of their free air and sometimes they're super quick and attentive, while other times I'm waiting for +10mins or wait so long that I end up leaving. Most recently, I went in for a tire rotation. I made the appointment online, but my car didn't get into the bay until 20mins after my appointment time. Eh, no big deal. While completing the rotation, the guys noted that 1 of my tires was toes-in and balding. All other tires were at a 5 so I wouldn't need to change them for a couple months. Since I knew I'd need new tires within the next 6 months, I did some research beforehand. I knew I wanted Michelin's CrossClimate2. Plus, I heard great things from other Tesla drivers about its performance. After hearing the news of my tire's fate, I asked how long it would take to swap them out. He said no more than 15mins so I said let's do it. He then insisted on educating me on the 2 options they had in stock that fit my car. I saw that 1 of them was the CrossClimate2 so I immediately said I'd take those. Not so fast, champ. The guy had to tell me why they're so good and why HE recommends I get them and blah blah. I let him finish his spiel and politely said that I was aware of all the perks. He seemed baffled by this admission... Meanwhile, the team finished putting all 4 tires back onto my vehicle. And when the guy went outside to let them know I'm getting new ones, they were visibly pissed. My 15-minute install took closer to 45 minutes. That was honestly the thing that irked me the most. If it was going to take that long, I would've preferred knowing that so I could get an Uber home and grab my work laptop. All in all, I was there for about 90 minutes. The other crappy thing is that they don't do alignments. How can you be a tire shop and not align tires? That blew my mind. So on top of paying $1500 for tires and waiting 90mins, I then had to go to another place to get them aligned, spending another hour and a couple hundred bucks. What a headache. I'll give 3 stars because at the end of the day, the important things were taken care of and done well. They just need to get their service side together. read more

Brief update: I continue to get good service here, although sometimes it is chaotic. This week I went in for an appointment, and there were so many people waiting for service that you had to get on a wait list just to check in! I arrived 10 minutes before my appointment but did not get seen until 20 minutes later. Happily my car was serviced right away and I did not have to wait a long time. read more

Five stars for a five star team! The folks here are some of the best, friendliest and knowledgeable people I've had the privilege of knowing. The techs, front desk people and workers are all very good. I bought a set of four Hankook AT2 tires last winter. They've been nothing but awesome in the Colorado outdoors. Great price, and definitely grab that road hazard warranty to make sure you're covered. They were quick to install and always kind and easy to work with. I would trust them not to upsell, and give them my business as long as I live in the area. I had gone to Goodyear before since I thought name brand would be better. Boy was I wrong! Discount tire has the smarts, deals, and service for all your needs. Thank you to the counter staff, you guys work every day tirelessly to explain to customers basic safety. Would give them 0 stars if I could. I purchased new tires with warranty a couple months ago. Found a nail in my tire, went to them for assistance as I have warranty for repairs. I was not acknowledged by a single staff member for over 20 minutes. When they did "assist" me they told me to fill up the tire with air and go somewhere else as they are "too busy" and I would be waiting 3 hours for help from them. When explaining that I had warranty and would rather not pay the staff member reiterated that they could be of no help until the following week. So instead of helping a customer with warranty and patching a tire they lost one. Don't waste your time on rude staff members, go down the road to Les Schwab instead where you'll be met with good customer service and they will help you right away. read more

Used this store to mount my tires purchased through Tire Rack. Tires were mounted, but that is the only positive thing I can say about Discount Tire. Mini Cooper valve caps were lost ($30 item). Tire Pressure Monitoring system was not reset. Tires were inflated to 34 psi on left side and 40 psi on right side. Will not use this installer again. read more

Unfortunately they seem to be really short staffed. I came in for a bolt on winter tire change over. Just wanted to drop the car off and leave it. They had a "virtual waitlist" just to talk to someone to get on the actual wait list. They said it would be 5 mins. 45 minutes later I still haven't been able to just drop the car off. Perfect visit today! My fiancée just got her new 4Runner from a local Toyota dealer; We upgraded to their TRD wheels and some KO2 tires. Needless to say the dealer we went to slapped them on and the first couple hundred miles on the car were a wobbly disappointment. Called this Discount Tire yesterday, made an appointment for this morning. Super easy, got there and was greeted by Michael who was professional and courteous. More than happy to fix the dealerships lax approach and rebalance our wheels and tires. Only took about 45 minutes too which was great. Our truck now feels like a proper brand new vehicle! *A nice bonus, we were able to buy the DT certificates for these tires while there since they were brand new. Had no clue this was an option but more than happy to do it since I've shopped with them for over a decade now. Looking forward to another visit here. read more

Purchase my tires online. Set my appointment for 2:15 after work, arrived at 2 o'clock to check in. I told me he would take him an hour to get the job done. After an hour I asked him why my car is not even moved from where I parked it. He went into the shop to talk to the mechanics, returning to tell me he is not sure what happened. I took my car in for tire rotation a few months after buying new tires. They pulled my car into the first bay and I happened to be sitting by the window looking into the shop. They rotated my tires but didn't re-balance them so I spoke to the guy who moved my car and they parked it outside and did the balancing. When I drove the car the next day, I noticed that they apparently didn't check the inflation either. I had a low tire on the back right when I brought it in and now it showed a low tire on the left front. I took it back in and got the tires inflated. I know that this shop is under-staffed and probably overworked but I'd like to be able to rely on the people who take care of my tires. read more

Friendly, clean, fast. I'm updating my review after a recent experience. I bought 4 new tires and my car started pulling slightly to the right. Discount sent me a feedback form which I filled out and said I was not really happy with the new tires. The manager called me that night and said to come in because they want me to love the tires. They have been more than helpful and this level of professionalism and service is rare. I didn't get any of the "it's your fault", "this is pre-existing", or "we can't help you". I hate Big O because of their lack of customer service and Firestone is too focused on up selling everything. Shout out to these folks for their excellent service. I had a slow leak in a tire, and before finding this shop, I had taken the car to three different places. Each of these places assured me they had repaired the tire, yet in each case, the tire was flat again two days later. The fourth time is the charm, I guess, because this Discount Tire shop fixed the tire and it's still fully inflated, more than a week later. If there's a downside, it's that this place is pretty busy. But apparently there's a good reason for that. And anyway, once I did find a slot that was open for an appointment, they got me in and out quickly. Oh, and they didn't charge me a cent. There's a reason for that too, I'm sure, and it's a good strategy, because I will definitely give them my business when I need new tires (or any other service they offer). read more

Went for an oil change and the tech said I had a nail in the left rear tire. Tried (3) tire shops in Boulder. All we're packed. Came here and Carlos checked the tire. The nail was very close to the sidewall so could not be repaired. My model of tire was not in stock but Carlos found same brand with a slightly different tread. I have taken my Porsche and BMW here for winter tire change outs and have always been treated very well and service completed on time. The key is to make an appointment via online. They are busy because everyone else nearby does sloppy work. One thing they can improve on is the goofing off. I really enjoy the music in waiting room but the coffee could be much better. read more

after turning in a vehicle on a Saturday at 11am and being told it would be ready by 2pm, it has not been looked at. i called at 3p to be told we were up after the 3 cars ahead of us. now it is 5p and we have waisted our entire day waiting for a car that has yet to be seen, had we known this was the situation we would have gone somewhere else. i would not recommend this discount tire. they should have told us the truth about how busy they were and that we would not indeed get our car by closing. literally they are liars and if you like liars and waiting for your car until late into the evening, then by all means use this discount tire. this review is going on next door, Instagram and Facebook.
