I went into Discount Tire in Kokomo, IN because I had picked up a screw in my left rear tire. The screw was on the corner of the tire so it was not repairable. Cade, the manager, expressed what I assumed was professional sympathy and courtesy as he informed me that a patch was not possible, like "putting a band aid on an elbow". I let him know I was on a road trip to Illinois from New York. He said he would see if there were any used tires. There were not but he said he could find a replacement and I went across the street for breakfast. When I returned to pick up my car I was astonished to discover a zero balance. Was this Christmas in July, I asked Cade. No, he was just doing a solid for a weary traveler who had been bemoaning his luck but was now praising it. These guys do a great job of helping customers throughout the process of managing their vehicle's maintenance. I especially appreciate the free tire rotations. Customer service is always difficult with auto repair (primarily tires with Discount Tire), but these fellows are pretty good at laying out costs, value, and any issues. We were traveling across the US last summer, two of our tires got damaged in a construction zone, called ahead to a Discount Tire location on our route (who had our maintenance history from their customer database) to get us in ASAP for replacement. They talked us through our options on the drive there and had the new tires ready when we got to the shop. Two hours later, we were back on the road. I appreciate their efforts! Bad service I went in to have my front tire looked at and got tricked into buying 2 new back tires and my front tire problem wasn't even resolved then I called back n told them the issue wasn't resolved and he explain to me that they checked everything and it came back OK but it's still getting low every time I put air inside of it NEVER going back again!! read more

I know nobody that works here, so this is unsolicited! These guys do great work! I'm an ASE, GM, and STAR certified technician, so I check everything, if I allow someone else to touch my vehicle (Tires or emergency's only) Most shops will try to up sell things you don't need, however they have always been very honest and forthcoming even when I told them I wanted a certain tire that goes against all recommendations for my vehicle! (They would have made more profit off the tires I asked for, but they professionally explained why I shouldn't use that tire (never was I going to use this tire). After they installed my new tires (3rd time) I've checked tire pressures and all are within a half a pound of absolute perfect! I pay less than buying tires myself and mounting and balancing them myself. 100% recommend this location in Kokomo, IN!!! Terrible place.. They are scammers and wouldn't even trust them to pull my suv into one of the bays let alone work on it! I've given them probably a dozen or more chances on 4 or more cars and it seems like they get more stupid with each visit. The ONLY reason Anyone would go there is the convenience of their location. I would probably go to a hole in the wall place in kokomo before I try these guys again. Go to city tire downtown or go to Noblesville, Carmel or Indy.... Its worth it NOT to go to this place.... They aren't pushy, and will give you the benefits and drawbacks to all of your options. In one case-- I was ready to spend twice what I actually did on new tires, when they found a set of used tires off of a dealer new vehicle with less than a few hundred miles on it. This place is a total con-shop. I went in to get a patch on a tire that had a nail in it. The tires on my truck are still good, and that was confirmed even by the assistant manager at the store. From there he went on to try to sell me 4 new tires. I was like hey now I only need a patch on the one. Do yourself a favor, never go there, never never never. I went from there up the road to the Tire Barn. They had the tire off and patched and put back on ready to go in 15 minutes, and charged me just under $18 for the work. Just for the record on my knowledge of vehicles, I was a mechanic in the USAF. Discount Tires staff lies about everything. read more

Not once did they try to pressure me into a tire I did not want, in fact, they took time to counsel me in my decision to make sure I was happy with my purchase.
