I about had a pengasm right there. But the Stetson hats were gorgeous as well. There's wallets (manly looking, but very finely crafted), money clips, and beautiful wooden containers to put on your dresser, holding your belongings. Part of the store has political bobbleheads...I want one so bad. Wonderful political paraphernalia that I loved so much. There's not many stores that catch my eye on Independence Square. This one, I'll return to, if just for the pens and bobbleheads. It will probably be a Saturday after I'm paid, cause I could easily spend quite a bit in this store. The employee was very kind and helpful, and Credence Clearwater Revival played on the stereo. It's an amazing store, and not just for men.

It was super cool to somewhat step into a time machine and visit such a past, pure Americana. This is the kind of place where a boy can become a man. You can find a lot of vintage looking "things" and simply stroll around. I have to say the best part for me was the couches, you can sit in and relax a bit. And if I remember correctly Mr. Truman himself had gotten his first job at the spot next door when he was just a little boy. According to the workers, their shops were new-ish due to half the space being constructed into a microbrewery. Prior to that, they were spread out around the space. Blue & Grey is the only book store within the four walls. The majority of the selection are history books and cookbooks. I found a large copy of the Illustrated History of Jackson County which detailed postal codes, city development, and land ownership in the early years. Other history topics include WWI, the American Revolution, and the Civil War. I also found the Collectors' Guide to Cookie Jars.There are some VCRs on the shelves too. Everything is reasonably priced. Becky, the owner, was bubbly. She talked to me about what's inside the store and showed me the adjacent art gallery featuring 12 local artists. It seemed that she really enjoyed working in this space with the artists. In short, this space is worth a walk through, and if you can support any of the local artists/vendors inside, do it!

To this day, we still get comments from our guests about how beautiful our florals were. It was very apparent that she put so much thought into the design. I am not too familiar with floral arrangements and she was SO helpful in creating a detailed floral plan. I felt extremely confident in her during our planning stages and she was able to relieve all the stress I felt from decorating. Responses were quick and timely! For someone who is very indecisive like me, I felt cared for in knowing that I was able to contact her to give me some advice on decor, color schemes, designs and how it would look as a whole. I was able to collaborate with her on extra details that I would purchase to highlight the floral arrangements. She was so patient, helpful, and encouraging! As I was getting ready to walk down the aisle, holding my GORGEOUS bouquet, the arbor was in clear view and I was so overwhelmed at how beautiful, full, and unique it was. For all you wedding planners/brides, the arbor is the first thing that guests see when they come to your wedding and you definitely do not want to disappoint! Then, when we came out for our reception, I was blown away at how absolutely beautiful our sweetheart table was decorated! As my husband and I were having our dinner, I cannot count how many times we said to each other, "Omg...Laura did SOOOO GOOD!" We wish were able to keep EVERYTHING! But we did bring our entire arbor home just so we could adore it for just a little longer :) And we preserved some of the arrangements, such as my bouquet, his boutonnière, and some of the smaller arrangements.
