Terry is a very good friend of mine and the only dealer I wanna deal with! I bought my 5 tring Spector from him this past spring brand new and looking to buy another bass from him again soon, and possibly a new bass amp! That's what you do when you want to support your friends and family that might own small, local, business! Terry's customer service is second to none and you'll be glad you came to his shop! The price of my Spector was adequately done up, I believe this bass was destiny for me, it's served me very well. read more

This place is amazing. It's mostly amazing because of the manager running it, Terry. He is beyond helpful. He is super knowledgeable and is capable of helping three people at once without skipping a heart beat of a good answer. We went in with a "toy" guitar and came out with a real good one for my son. He did take care of our cheaper one which had metal strings instead of vinyl which the cheaper guitar was made for, for free. The store itself is fun to go through and has plenty of choices for guitars; not so much for drums, but they do have drum sets. We even ended up buying a new keyboard to replace the piano we just sold. We felt confident with his recommendation. Over all , we were super happy to work with someone so knowledgeable and helpful. Terry and his store are a great resource to have here in Post Falls. We're lucky. read more

Cannot recommend this place enough. I have brought my son in here twice since he started playing guitar this past summer. Both times were to replace broken strings. The owner is friendly and extremely knowledgeable. He went above and beyond at both visits to help my son and really made him feel like a valued customer. We have been many places in the area to have different instruments purchased/repaired (my son also plays the violin) and no other music store remotely comes close to the service you get here. Highly recommend coming here. This place is a gem! read more

History

Established in 2000.

Discount Music Supply began as an online supplier for musical instruments and accessories. As volume grew, local customers remarked how they would enjoy having a store to visit. DMS put up a sign on the warehouse and that is how the brick and mortar side of the business began.

My daughter stopped because of her theater time commitments, but my son continued through graduation. The lessons were wonderful and they both thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I appreciated how she would ask them for input for song selection as well as offering classics. Terry at Discount was GREAT! I called him to see if he could restring our granddaughter's guitar and he told us to bring it in right away and he would have it ready in an hour. I was amazed, pleased and thankful. He was not only efficient, but he explained everything to me about the guitar. He was just a great guy. I would HIGHLY recommend him. (And the price was great too!) NOTE: I had taken the guitar to a DIFFERENT vendor on Thursday for new strings with his promise to have it ready by Tuesday. When we didn't hear by Tuesday morning, we called and he said it would be ready by 2 pm and he would text/call. He didn't text/call so we called again Wednesday and it still wasn't ready. (The child had already missed Friday's lesson, and now looked like she would possibly be unable to have the guitar for the upcoming Friday) I called and he had not even started the work (6 days later!) So I went and picked it up without having the work done. (This guy also was going to charge us exactly TWICE the amount Terry at Discount charged.) When I called Terry at discount, he said bring it over, which I did and Voila! ONE HOUR LATER it was ready! Can't thank Terry at Discount enough! read more
